Hi.
Got B off to school so C and I are hanging out waiting for the electrician(s) to hang a couple light fixtures. We have 12’+ and 15’+ ceilings in the rooms they’re going in so DH was understandably not up for this challenge 😂
C has ballet and B has tennis today; I’m going to try to get by my parents’ and turn on the AC, etc. since they are finally getting home this week 🙌🏻🎉

A bunch of us are rotating manning the reception desk since we laid off our receptionist. So once ever 2-3 weeks, I have to be in the office open - close (7:45 - 5 PM). Today is that day. So I'm here. It's not that busy so I am excited to surf some prime deals. I was looking at this for B for his birthday link

Morning! Zoom school today and I’m dropping off two baby carriers with someone in town. Josie has tap this afternoon and I’m going to try and make it to the store to pick up some of the things she will need for her class party. It’s very different this year. No family or class patents are allowed to join the festivities, all individual or socially distanced activities, and I have to drop off the materials at least four days before.

Morning! I've got a crabby A here. The kids found a Gardner snake yesterday and are obsessed. They built it a house and everything. Of course I mentioned it to MIL and she went nuts. Said I need to call animal control and it's not normal to have snakes and she's never heard of anyone else having them. Now she's scared to come watch the kids.... Our house backs to a creek and woods, there are little harmless snakes. Animal control would probably laugh their heads off if I called about a gardner snake 😂

wineallthetime I'm eye rolling your MIL so hard right now. She does know snakes exist everywhere, right? Except maybe Antartica, and probably even there. Your kids making a habitat for it, def would not do because I hate snakes, but it's very sweet of them.

Morning.
I’m at work, but don’t want to be. It’s kind of slow now, but we will see how the day shakes out. I’ve been browsing prime deals but haven’t found much. I got a couple small toys so far, but other than that, the deals aren’t exciting.
I have a cart at Target that I’m deciding about with the 25 off 100. Just some beyblade stuff for M, a game, and a scooter.

So far I got a couple Animal Planet toys at Target and a fluffy mattress pad on Amazon. I have some boys Under Armour pants in my cart too.
Good morning! As you can tell I am Prime Day focused. I try to get the bulk of my Christmas gifts between Prime Day and Black Friday. Hopefully work remains slow.

I thought about this for M when I saw them at Costco this summer. I want to see him do it first before I buy. His BFF got one for his birthday, so I should see if he can try it out there. At tennis, mH was talking to a dad and his 8 year old had a cast on her arm and he said it was from an accident on one of those. He did say the child was known to be clumsy and I think M could handle it based off some other things he does well, but I’m not still not sure. How do the kids there handle it and what age?

Morning. We’re embracing vacation laziness, so lots of tea/coffee/newspapers/books, outdoor time & a crappy diet. I was doing relatively good weight wise (gained about 18lbs) but apparently I’m throwing all that out of the window this week since I’ve had cake every day since Friday 😂.

One kid just turned 7 (first grade like our n13 kids) and he does fine. He is average size for his age, I’d say. B tried his out and did well. Our next door neighbors have Kindergarten-aged twins that use their older siblings’ scooters. From everything I’ve see they are fine. I guess the biggest things are balance while taking turns (not turning too sharply) and being able to use the hand break.

That I feel fine about. The dad of the kid with the broken arm says theirs go up to 20 mph... I was like woah. They definitely got her the adult one I guess. 😬 Eta: it was 20, not 25

WWYD MH's grandfather is 92 and has been falling recently. LSS, he is bleeding in his brain. I don't know all of the details, only that he's too old for them to consider surgery and they've called in hospice. My MIL has been there for a week now. We're all assuming it won't be too long before he passes. Obviously, MH would want to attend the funeral. I'm thinking I should stay home with the kids. If I were to go, I'd have to quarantine for 2 weeks before going back to the office. I'm pretty sure M wouldn't be able to go to school, but I could verify that with them. lahdeedah Do you know if AL still has any restrictions on group gatherings?

tgrimes, I think it is perfectly acceptable to not go given the circumstances. Given all of H's issues I would be hesitant to bring him anywhere. I'm sorry for everything you all are going through.

All my old work staff was just at a wedding this past weekend. I feel like only few states have bans on gatherings a now. I’m sorry about YH’s grandfather. Do what you’re comfortable with. Are these school/work rules for quarantining?

lahdeedah, flamingo, I have found the best prices for electric scooters at Walmart. I was looking at hoverboards but maybe I should look at the scooter? He is so good on his regular scooter though so I hate for him to not get that exercise.

My friend has one the adult scooters. He lets his 7 year old go all over the neighborhood on it by herself with no helmet. Makes me so nervous, especially since she’s already broken her arm 2x. H hasn’t asked about one so I’m not going to offer the idea up. There are some kids in my friend’s neighborhood that have the little Vespa looking scooters and S has asked about getting one of those.

Every day we go in the office I have to fill out a document stating I haven't travelled outside of the country, state, etc and I have no symptoms and I haven't come in contact with anyone that has had symptoms or covid. I need to check with M's school.

I think he'll understand but it still sucks. They haven't even discussed a service yet, that i know of. But if there are no restrictions, there will be a shit ton of people there because he used to be the pastor of a very large church there. lahdeedah knows which one I'm talking about, I'm sure. I feel guilty not going but at the same time Covid.
