Anybody’s kids currently really into human anatomy? I am working on a Montessori activity for Dude with matching little organ models to flash arcs with the names of each, but need other ideas. Charlie watches the kids learning tube videos and loves them. I’m sue A has already found them. In grad school, I sat through a mock 5th anatomy lesson where they used jello as the body (the torso, I think) and all other things (shells, sponges, rubber bands , etc) to build the organs. Dude loves those videos. All things Kids Learning Tube are a big hit here, but especially the astronomy and anatomy videos.

Today I took DD to the mall for school clothes. She is at the worst age for clothes right now. She doesn’t want the sparkly shirts anymore and she will not wear anything with the store name on it. We tried Abercrombie Kids, Justice, Gap, and Old Navy and all we got was 2 pairs of leggings and 3 T-shirt’s. Target has been wiped out of kid’s clothes since Covid started. She wants grown up clothes but does not fit in grown up sizes. I miss out days of Children’s Place, Carter’s, and Gymboree. Maybe H&m online?

Glad C had a great party wedding! Evies rheumatologist emailed me today. It was not good news. She had fluid on both knees, more on the right than the left. She has fluid behind her left knee which is known as Bakers Cyst and is common in JIA. No fluid on her ankles, but she has inflammation in tendons on both ankles. This is also common in JIA. This is what her rheumatologist was worried about. Her next step is to start her on methotrexate, which I'm not excited about. There are a lot of possible side effects, so she wants to get blood work done ASAP, before she starts, 1 month, then 3 months into it. H and I both agree that weekly injections will be last option, kid hates shots and neither of us want to have to give them to her. Im thinking the liquid might be the best option so she gets the full dose since she can't swallow pills. She will also take a prescription strength folic acid, due to side effects, and likely an anti nausea med. She will call me Monday to discuss next steps.

Good morning. Skipped my run this morning to pickup special strawberry stuffed donuts for everyone. It’s the last day of the season for them.

They are so good. We only get them maybe once a year and it’s at least a 30 minute drive each way but always worth it. I got there right as they started to stuff them. I knew if I had waited until after my run the line would be at least a half hour or longer.

Morning. Yesterday I worked then went home and napped. After supper we went to a friend’s house to hang out, I got worked up about politics and had a hard time falling asleep. Today I’m back at work and then I’m going to convince dh to go to the pumpkin patch after work.

I’m sorry mwhip. Do they do anything for the cyst? She didn't say much about it. After researching it, they can rupture, so I'll definitely be asking when I talk to her, if the meds will help it as well. Since it's a build up of synovial fluid, I think it will, but I definitely want to make sure.

Since it's a build up of synovial fluid, I think it will, but I definitely want to make sure. When I worked at the ortho clinic I’m pretty sure they drained them. But they also have to close up the tract that is leaking the fluid so it might be more involved with a kid.

Morning!
ILs just left, I’m glad to have my house back. Time to start tidying up.
I had completely forgotten but I’m supposed to take my cousin to the airport today at 11. I haven’t heard from him so I guess he just trusts me to be the responsible one 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️

I look like a 92 year old woman. I cannot put one foot in front of the other without the support of my h/wall/chair etc. It hurts so much. I blame the bed that is to soft. We found that the other bed had some sort of wooden board between the matras and the frame, so hopefully that’ll help.
Outside this 😣, it is so lovely here. The kids love the outdoors and it is so nice to watch them play. Ds made a drum set from pieces op wood and is singing ‘let it be’ in phonetic English. Dd made a cake shop with cakes made of sand, leaves and acorns. They’re both adorable.

Morning! Today we’ll get some pumpkins to decorate. The wildlife around here may be too much to carve them so i found a few cool paint options. Hopefully they look good when we’re through. !

Morning from the reno zone.
Yesterday was another day of destruction and trying to organize to move downstairs tomorrow, I ran some errands and the kids played in the yard with piles of leaves.
We’re taking a break today to celebrate Thanksgiving, we’re just headed to my Mom’s since the virus us on a bit of a spike here. I’m very very excited for a delicious meal, yum.

Morning!! We just got back a bit ago from taking the boys on a nature walk around the lake at the park in town. It's crazy how a slight change in scenary makes things so much more exciting. Now we're just relaxing with pregame shows on the TV and the boys are playing.
I am taking tomorrow off since Chase's daycare is closed so I plan to take him to another park across town for a walk and maybe a picnic lunch. We will probably watch what's next across the street with the lot they just cleared He's so nosey about it all, he interrogates anyone he sees working over there.

The kids go back to In person school tomorrow so I just ran to get the last of their supplies, backpacks, and some new clothes. Now we are ordering lunch and then just getting organized for the week. T and DD will be going to school 4 days, and DS1 only 2 days. I have 2 classes staying remote and 2 coming in person. My in person classes are down to 5 kids each and with hybrid that means I only have 2 in one class and 3 in the other. Numbers have spiked so who knows how long this will last but I’m excited!
