Morning. We’re on our way to the vacation cabin/home. The kids had a blast with my parents last night and it was nice for us to had an easy start of the day. I wrapped all the Sinterklaas, birthday presents for ds and other presents I’d already bought for other people birthdays for the coming months. Feels nice to have that done.
The weather sucks, so I predict lots and lots of cocooning & enjoying my last vacation as a family of four over the next few days.

As soon as C gets up with the kids I’ll watch one more episode of haunting of bly manor. I need to meal plan and then when E naps L wants to read a couple of chapters in his magic treehouse book to me. He loves them.
I’m entering the final week of my current class. I’ve finished all my homework but have to check daily for the discussion posts. Fingers crossed that the homework I turned in is good.

I just added that to my watchlist chrisy01. Is it good? My niece is going to the Dr this morning. Her sister is holding out hope that she and her dad can still come today. I am not ok with that so if that becomes an actual plan I will have to say something. C and MIL went for a walk/bike ride. Last night she had sugar cookies for him to decorate. Today we are painting and carving pumpkins and having Cs little birthday celebration here. We head home tonight because C has football tomorrow. Since it’s such a short season we aren’t skipping but I would have liked to stay another night here. It’s hard to entertain C at home all day if there aren’t other kids out. We can relax a little here.

wedding the first episode drags but if you like the haunting of hill house it’s similar. Lots of the same actors too.
I’m midway through episode 3 so I’m not too far in.

Morning!
DH and I just left the plant nursery...might be my new favorite spot. Goodbye, monies. It is really nice going there with a plan and shopping list, though—otherwise I’d be overwhelmed and probably still wandering. Cannot wait to see how the yard comes together.
I think we’re doing subs for lunch, will watch football later on, and go out tonight for dinner.

It’s wet and rainy here. MH said the wind was bad last night, but I must have been knocked out because I didn’t hear a thing. We’re lazing around. I don’t have much planned. Maybe some laundry while I’m catching up on TV.

Just bought two pumpkins. The kids will paint them and sticker them either later today or tomorrow.

I’m getting my hair cut in a few minutes and then will pick M up from her play date. I need to figure out how to iron in M’s name to all of her face masks for school. My MIL primed me some fabric labels. Hopefully I’m not too stupid to do it. Lol.

I’ve ironed transfer on shirt etc. Before. 9/10 times it takes longer than the instructions (2/3 minutes iso 30sec.) & you often need a sheet of baking paper between the transfer and the iron.

I started watching The Haunting of Bly Manor last night. I'm a couple episodes in and a little disappointed. It's not scary. I wanted scary. Hoping it picks up a bit.

I don’t think these series (hill and bly) are meant to be scary but suspenseful. I just started episode 4 and I’m not as engrossed as hill house but it’s not bad.

Happy weekend!!
I have a head cold but it started as a cough so I went down the rabbit hole of thinking about how risky running group may be. So I ran from home this morning, but there were a bunch of people out running virtual Chicago, which was pretty cool. Then the boys had soccer and Chase and I should leave soon for Col's baseball game, though he's resisting. I'd rather stay home, I just feel stuffy and tired. But Colin will definitely be disappointed, so I need to go convince Chase.

Anybody’s kids currently really into human anatomy? I am working on a Montessori activity for Dude with matching little organ models to flash arcs with the names of each, but need other ideas.

I think kiwi crate recently had an anatomy box, not sure if you can back order that one. You could also get a roll of wallpaper, use the blank side, draw an outline of dudes body and draw the organs inside the outline? ETA it could also be fun to get some books and compare human/animal anatomy.

I just want to be left alone for awhile, lol.

My niece tested positive for strep but they sent a COVID test out anyway since she will need it to go back to school and there’s always a possibility. I’m happy it’s strep so she can feel better soon. Apparently Massachusetts tests are taking 3-5 days. I’m RI they are 24-48 hours for the send out. I didn’t realize other states we longer still. C is having a great time. We did his bday already and are going to have dinner and head home. I’ll put his gifts in the thread about presents to help with ideas. He’s a very happy boy! Here he is now compared to his 1yo bday.

Charlie watches the kids learning tube videos and loves them. I’m sue A has already found them. In grad school, I sat through a mock 5th anatomy lesson where they used jello as the body (the torso, I think) and all other things (shells, sponges, rubber bands , etc) to build the organs.

Today I took DD to the mall for school clothes. She is at the worst age for clothes right now. She doesn’t want the sparkly shirts anymore and she will not wear anything with the store name on it. We tried Abercrombie Kids, Justice, Gap, and Old Navy and all we got was 2 pairs of leggings and 3 T-shirt’s. Target has been wiped out of kid’s clothes since Covid started. She wants grown up clothes but does not fit in grown up sizes. I miss out days of Children’s Place, Carter’s, and Gymboree.

I know you don’t like online shopping, but maybe do a solid color basics haul from somewhere like Target or even Amazon that way returns are easy. Does she want particular styles?

I ended up purging and doing an overhaul of my clothes today. It was a big job and I have a lot to donate and send to consignment. I still have to do some organizing in my closet shelves and go through some shoes I have in a box in the garage.
The boys just got boo’d by a neighbor. She has a grandson that is M2’s age that the boys have played with when he is visiting. They rang the doorbell and gave the boys goody bags. They were finishing up dinner, so I let them have two treats and put the rest up for another day.

I remember I started shopping in Juniors in 6th grade or so.
