Morning. My COVID test came back negative, so now I can wallow in my regular cold  . I slept terrible, but I’m feeling better than yesterday, so I’ll take it. |

Morning! I'm at work. Currently waiting on the phone to make A's flu shot appointment. Caller number 9 so may be awhile. I took the other two to CVS over the weekend but didn't realize you have to be 3 to get it there.

Basically the ENT didn't tell me anything new. He thinks it is benign relapse parotitis. For now, we'll treat with ibuprofen and warm compresses and if it doesn't get better I'll call him for antibiotics. After this episode goes away, if he gets it again we'll do another ultrasound to check for abnormalities &/or stones.

MH had to be at work early so he was up traipsing around, then B wakes up at 6am and is up for the day, MH is in and out of the house, I finally ask what the hell he is doing and apparently he lost his work phone and is muttering around the house trying to find it. Me: what is happening right now MH: I lost my work phone. Me: did you check your pockets? MH: ::annoyed:: uh yes Vino I checked my pockets. Me: OK well can you call it? Morning! S made it through her infusion by the skin of her teeth yesterday! She kept a steady temp of 99.8. And if she would have hit 100 we would have had to stop. But I noticed a foul smell from her ear. So after the infusion I took her to the dr and she had an ear infection.
Today I’m headed to get a facial and a massage! But first I have to go to the bank because I’ve lost my debit card. 🤦♀️

I'm glad I called today because our pedi is completely booked for flu shots. Luckily they got him into another office. Morning.
C is at school so I squeezed in a Target run and grocery trip, and I’m about to pick up B for a dentist appt (he needs a filling which they will only do in the morning 🤷🏻♀️, kind of annoying).
Lacey is at the oncologist for a full work-up today. DH took her to the consultation yesterday but we won’t really have new info til they run all the CT scans, etc. I feel emotionally exhausted and we haven’t even had to make the bigdecisions yet.

B is randomly off school today. The archdiocese announced they would have an off-day to reward students and teachers for working so hard. That’s fine, but really, why couldn’t it have been Monday which is a Federal holiday anyways?
She’s prolly going to end up watching tv all day while I wfh :/ I did take her for a dunkin run. We both love those pumpkin spice munchkins. I’m hoping some of the neighborhood kids will be out soon as it’s so nice out today.

Our CVS used to be 9 for kids but now the signs says “flu shots for the whole family” so who knows. I’m going to a drive through clinic for school employees tomorrow and taking the kids Monday to their pediatrician. Must force DH to go to CVS one day soon. tgrimes sorry about H and that they never have great answers or fixes for you. DS was supposed to have his first hockey game this weekend but the governor still hasn’t cleared it. DD is off from soccer this weekend. Now I have a big fwp because I could do one last beach weekend but also my hot tub came and it being install Friday so I kinda want to be home for that. |

yummeecookee that is random...would much prefer a 3-day wknd. Do parochial schools in your area get out early on Wednesdays? That is common here, I guess bc of Wednesday night church. Our county’s schools get out an hour early on Wednesdays to give the teachers a planning period. We just got a letter that for the rest of the semester it would be changing to 2 hours to try and give the teachers some extra time. Which is fine with me, and I completely understand they are trying to support the faculty, but I’m sure it threw working parents and after care programs for a bit of a loop.

@yummeecookie I much prefer a 3 day weekend, but we have those random days too. They divided them equally over all the week days, so the ‘burden’ is equally spread over all parents instead of it always being a monday/friday. flamingo on Wednesday schools are always out early over here (12/13 in stead of 14/15) never knew why! You learn something new every day . |

I've been taking care of all my moms animals. She has 37 baby chicks in cages and they revolted against me this morning so they're now free with the big chickens.. I'm so ready for them to be home. I hate taking care of the chickens. My hands permanently smell like chicken shit 🤢
Cleaning her house today and washing all her bed clothes since my aunt and uncle will be in town for the funeral.

Morning. Last night was rough. V woke up around 1:30 just chatting away. She wasn’t crying so I was trying to ignore her in hopes that she’d go back to sleep on her own. No luck, she was so loud that I eventually picked her up and nursed her back to sleep. I ended up oversleeping and S was late to preschool. I stopped and got a jumbo coffee on my way home. After I pick up S in a little bit we are going to run a couple of errands before coming home. I want to nap this afternoon but I’m not sure that’ll happen.

As for us with the Flu shots - the pedi is doing a flu clinic every weekend in October. I called a few days after it was announced and wasn't able to get in till 10/17. So me and the boys will get it then (they will do parents, with the kids). I have to check to see if MH got his. He has a lot of Dr appointments (he has a few chronic conditions) so he usually takes care of it at one of them.
When I found out I couldn't get in till the 17th, I called the local pharmacy here who does it (and who I love - it's like 1950 in there). But they only do 10 and up. So we will wait and all do it together.

Cadence has to get her flu shot at the pedi every year due to her egg allergy. I just have her get it during her annual checkup.

I'm at work. Yesterday evening was a shit show. Cadence had dance until 5:30. I pick her up on the way home from work. Mh was supposed to cook dinner, but he had to go get milk first, so dinner wasn't ready and she had a 6-7 zoom girl scout meeting. So she didn't eat until 7 when it was over, straight to the shower, then I find out she didn't do any of her school assignments for the day. I was beyond annoyed. So she had to stay up and finished all but one. I told mh this was not ok and school work needs to be finished earlier than 8pm. He blew me off because he was drunk by then and gave no shits. 🤬
Wednesdays they only have morning meeting, so I worked with her on today's assignments and finishing yesterday's before I came to work this morning.
The teacher is no in the classroom so she has to wear a mask. There were tons of complaining children that said they either couldn't hear her or they couldn't understand her. I was across the room and could do both just fine, so I'm assuming they just weren't paying attention. I know Cadence wasn't. 🤦
