What costumes are your kids choosing?
What are you doing for the holiday? Any family costumes?

Josie is going to be Amelia Earhart and I heart her costume so much. Charlie is going to be an astronaut, but he didn’t want the white suit with the helmet and instead opted for the orange one with the baseball cap. I think it’s cute, and I like that I can layer under each of them so they don’t get cold.
If Josie’s back in school before Halloween, she’ll wear an Adidas warm-up suit that Friday, and I ordered gold medals off of Amazon so she’ll be an Olympian.
Trunk or treat seem to be the big thing here for the younger groups. Probably because there aren’t sidewalks in this area, no street lights, and a lot of the driveways tend to be long and hilly. A lot of parents will drive to a section of town and just let the kids trick-or-treat on one or two streets.
This year, there’s a single family walk through trunk or treat at Josie’s school. You sign up for a time. And then later that afternoon (after it gets dark) there’s a drive-through larger trunk or treat in the next town over.

Cadence has firmly stuck with Frankenstein, so I'll be the Bride of Frank and we would like mh to be Igor, but I doubt he'll participate.
We won't be handing out candy. I stead we are making a graveyard in our front yard and scattering treat bags throughout so the kids can find them.
Pretty sure most people are coming up with contactless ways to hand out candy this year.

wineallthetime I love the idea of having a sort of games night where the kids will be able to win candy... Halloween is not a thing here, but st. Maarten is (nov. 11) the children will go to door holding lanterns, singing songs and will receive candy in return (no costumes).

One of our friends is going to do a small thing at their house. We can all eat dinner and she'll hide candy in the yard. I think M will be Aurora and H will either be Mario or a police man.

We’re doing family costumes: Dude as Sspongebob, X as Patrick, Poppy as Pearl. I am going to be Sandy, Pipsqueak is Gary the snail (he fits small dog costumes). I think Tim will be Squidward and Pete is going to dress as Mr. Krabs,

We are doing something similar - We are actually thinking of letting them trick or treat in the back yard - like, I'll be in the play house handing out candy, someone else will be on the porch, etc. Our friend wants the adults to dress up too since the kids will probably get a hoot out of it and they aren't getting the total experience this year. I have no idea what MH and I will be. I am toying with a family star wars theme mostly b/c I think B would be ADORABLE as baby yoda. But most likely I'll let the kids pick out something and then just do random costumes for MH and I. They always change their minds 1000 times so I'll give them a few more days then lock in and buy it. So far, B wants to be Rapunzel (we just discovered Tangled and he's obsessed), and S wants to be some superhero that I already forgot |

We are going all as frozen characters per E’s request. She’s going as Elsa, L is going as Olaf, C is Kristof and I’m going as Anna. I think the day of I’ll put Dexter in his Christmas antlers and he can be Sven (if I can find them). Next week we are doing Knott’s Taste of Fall-O-Ween. Day of I’ll let the kids dress up and have their trick or treat pumpkins filled with treats for when they get up. We will watch Halloween movies. The school says they want to do something for Halloween but I’m unsure.

So great that you all can come together and co parent so well! It really is nice. I feel like it makes people uncomfortable because they are so accustomed to divorces being acrimonious, but whatever. We can all make it work for the sake of the kids so I don’t know why anyone would care. We’re all doing well.🤷♀️ |

Kids are going to be woody, buzz and bo peep from toy story 4. Dh and I might join in and be forky and gabby gabby.
We’ll probably trick or treat on our street. It’s usually pretty quiet and I expect it to be even quieter, which is fine. Our close neighbors give the kids handfuls of candy so they’ll be happy.
I’m thinking of inviting a few close friends over for the afternoon for a low key party in the backyard. We’ll see.

The last I heard H wants to be Queen Barb and S wants to be king trollex from trolls world tour. I am going to buy V one of the carters plush costumes, as it’s tradition. I should probably order soon before they’re all gone. I can’t find a trollex costume that isn’t $$$ so I may be figuring out a way to make it myself.
We were invited to a friend’s house to have a little Halloween party, they do it every year. I’m undecided if we will do that or just ToT in our neighborhood.
