It's a new week ladies! How is everyone? How are the babies? Anything new? Halloween decorations? Etc, etc.

Ben only has 10 days to go till 5 months! He’s super social and smiley and the best baby in the world - not that I’m biased or anything. My big dilemma is when to move him from snoo to crib. I tried putting the snoo on a lower motion level last night and he wasn’t into it. So I think I’ll just go cold turkey to crib and prepare myself for 3 nights of sleep training terrible-ness. But the big question is when to do that. He sleeps great in the snoo and still fits, but is getting a flat spot on his head. I’m going away for two nights on a socially distanced girls trip in 3 weeks. It would be easier for DH to just pop baby in the crib vs me teaching him the nuances of the snoo (he has never put baby to bed since it’s easier for him to handle the older kids), but then I also feel like it’s not worth trying to transfer him and having it be a rough transition and DH have to deal with that while I’m away. Soooo....I think I’ll likely keep sticking with snoo and ignore the flat spot But I keep going back and forth. Here’s Ben lounging at the park!

G can't make up his mind about sleep. The week following his needles was really bad. The next week he keeps alternating (improving then going backwards again). I really need a good sleep. Hopefully this week will bring it. He's also turned into a bit of a Velcro baby. I can't put him down and its making things hard. Luckily I can just wear him if he's really fussy and I need to get something done. But I really want my happy baby back. We put our Halloween decorations up this week. I love Halloween anyway, and DS2's birthday is on Halloween so I like to go all out on decorating the house. We mostly have cheap stuff but I've been trying to buy 1 quality piece each year to replace out some of the cheaper stuff so that eventually I'll have all really nice stuff. This year I ordered a set of 3 lifesize witches for outside (you steak them into the ground and they stand holding hands either in a line or semi-circle around something). I'm really excited to get it!

C had her weight check today. They wanted her to gain at least 9 ounces in 2 weeks. She gained 2 despite fortifying her breast milk with formula. Her pedi started her on Pepcid and gave us a referral to peds GI.

Sorry magaroni! When my DD lost weight between 2 and 3 months, we switched cold turkey to 100% similac alimentum and it worked immediately to start her gaining weight. Is that an option you’d consider? Or do you think she still wouldn’t keep enough down? DD spit up a ton but it never seemed to make her uncomfortable - she was a happy spitter. We tried reflux meds at one point but they didn’t help.

We tried reflux meds at one point but they didn’t help. I’ve been adding alimentum to her bottles. I’ve given her a few bottles of just formula and she seems to still spit up a lot. I’m going to wait and see what the GI says but I’ve also thought about trialing a week of straight formula and pumping to keep my supply. If it works I would switch to formula and if not then I could continue breastfeeding.

magaroni that’s exactly what I did with DD. I pumped every 3 hours for the first two weeks after switching to formula. Then whenever I tried to go back to BM/add it back in, she seemed uncomfortable and would start having m stomach issues. So I ended up sticking with the formula and donating a bunch of dairy and soy free BM I had pumped. The spitting up turned out to be unrelated to the BM intolerance/weight loss for us. Even after she started gaining weight, she kept spitting up a ton through about a year old. But she was no longer uncomfortable. FWIW, I know a lot of factors go into a kid’s health, but she’s 8 now and is the least likely of my kids to get sick, despite having less BM than the others.

The one think that I am thankful for is that despite spitting up 3-5 times between each feeding she rarely seems uncomfortable.

Babies are so close to 6 months, it’s crazy. I bought their Halloween costumes last night even though we aren’t going anywhere. A baby lion and a baby fox. I love baby costumes so much
They are still pretty easy going babies. We consolidated naps this week down to 3 so that is really nice that we don’t have the late afternoon nap anymore. They are starting to really reach out and grab at things now too.
I am thinking of doing BLW this time since I’m too lazy to make my own purées and pouches are going to be way too $$ with two babies. Ugh I forgot how much I hate the early stages of food when they only eat a tiny little bit. It’s so much mess and work for so little food lol

willow I make batches and freeze in icecube trays. So the initial prep takes a little bit of time, but I only have to do it like once a month or so.

I avoid as long as possible.

Hey, little girlfriend is 15 weeks and going through a leap so no sleep is happening at my house. She is batting at toys and playing with things a lot more. Still very smiley, but no real laughs yet.
In non-baby related news, I decided to stop my Zoloft. I think I am able to control my anxiety/irritability so I’m going to give it a shot. Plus I think it’s contributing to my weight gain and the inability to lose weight.

Hey! It's been awhile since I've checked in, it's nice to see all the babies! Everyone is growing so much! B is 15 weeks old today! He is so chatty, and I've gotten a few giggles out of him. It doesn't happen often despite how hard I try, I think I'm just not that funny lol. He's still sleeping in a bassinet in my room but I'm thisclose to moving him into his crib in his room because he is getting pretty long and he scoots his butt to the bottom of the bassinet when he sleeps so his legs are all scrunched up, seems like he wants/needs more room to sleep. Maybe that'll get me a full night! 🤞 Here's my chunky monkey!

willow BLW is awesome! I definitely recommend reading about gagging versus choking before you start. It is nice to just give baby parts of your meal and not have to smell purees (maybe it's just me that is grossed out by them).

N is 4 months old. He had his check up/shots today, so we'll see how tonight goes for sleep. We're slowly making sleep changes - he's in the SNOO with one arm out right now. I think we made it through the 4 month sleep regression after about a week of poor night sleep. He's so smiley now and is doing a good job of finding his favorite people in a room and smiling really big at them. He's also started really giggling when he thinks we do something funny. It's adorable! He's smiling at DD here. She's basically his favorite person ever.
