My kid is struggling this morning. I am back up to 30 hours a week, which means I'll be leaving a bit earlier now. Cadence is not ok with this new schedule.
She's on her class zoom but keeps looking back at me to make sure I haven't left yet. She's mopey and getting frustrated during writing. Lots of whining.
And don't get me started with how she feels about me not getting off until 5 and having to do her school assignments with mh.
Right now she has her head down and is crying about not getting called on.

I got soaked to the bone during the schoolrun and swim class drop of and I think I threw my back out while riding the cargo bike, fun times, im ready to call it a day.

Friday the school sent out an email that they will no longer be offering after care like they said they would. Now all of us are scrambling to find care. I have a call into my boss to see if I can leave early every day but he's on vacation. This sucks.

tgrimes, I hate last minute changes. It's so hard to figure things out on the fly like that. I hope you are able to get something worked out

Morning.
Hope everyone had a good wknd. DH had to work a funky schedule the last few days so I took a break from social media to try and be more ‘present’ with the kids. We had some nice fall weather, watched football, and got our pumpkins, mums, etc. Now Gearing up for a busy week and DH’s parents coming in Friday.

Also...TW...pet issues.
first thing this a.m. we got a call from the vet. The biopsy results came back and it was...not good. The spot on her jaw bone is osteosarcoma, which is apparently super aggressive. We have an appt with a canine oncologist tmrw but after reading online I’m not optimistic. She’s nine, so getting up there, but she has always been the picture of health and seems perfectly fine right now. It’s so, so hard to reconcile. DH and I have both been in tears all morning. And of course this is happening right now with DH about to leave. Ugh.

Pulled into work and got a call from Cadence. She was crying and mh said she hit him. She said earlier that she was cranky and feeling like mad Branch (the troll) today, so theres that. I told him to just give her her space and I told her no hitting and while she's on a break from school to go lay in my bed and calm down. I hope her afternoon goes better. I told her I would call her and check on her. It's really hard when your kid says they need you and you can't be there.
ETA: corrected the pronouns. oops!

klong11 Sorry C is struggling with the new schedule. I hope she finds her groove quickly and returns to her normal happy self! tgrimes after school care was cancelled at some of the larger districts here as well. People are still struggling to figure out how to work things out. I hope your boss answers you quickly and everything works out. flamingo so sorry for the news about your dog. There is just never enough time with our dogs. They're the best creatures and don't live long enough. Hugs to you guys!

Even if chemo/radiation isn't a viable option, meeting with the oncologist can give you an idea of prognosis and take away some of the anxiety of the unknown. Keep us updated. |

Her desk is by the door to his room, so he keeps walking behind her to go to the bathroom or whatever and she told him to stop. So when he did it again she turned around and hit him. I told him that while she's in class, to just use the other bathroom so that he doesn't have to go into her space.

It's cloudy and damp here and I want nothing more than to crawl into bed with a book. We had a nice weekend that felt a bit like old times but it was definitely more exhausting than it used to be. I found myself tired of talking by the end of it. Usually I'm looking for anyone to chat with! C had football yesterday and did so much better with sportsmanship. At the end of the game they had the boys line up and fist bump the other team. They sanitized right after but I wasn't thrilled with it. There's no need to be that close (even though masked) or touching. I sent an email to the lead coach and he is going to talk to the coaches because they should just be waiving. I feel totally like "that mom" but I'll be damned if my kid gets this virus through a fist bump!
I just saw that our positivity rate is 3.2% from the weekend. We usually run under 1.5% so I am hoping this is a fluke. I think people have gotten too comfortable and are gathering indoors. We are still at a limit of 15 people max for any type of gathering and I am definitely hearing of larger groups getting together.

Thank you all for the hair pats. Our vet spoke with the oncologist before talking to us and sent him all the x-rays, etc. Left unchecked they estimate she has 3-6 months...apparently we “caught it early.” So we will see what we find out in terms of if it’s spread, etc. Sorry for the rambling...I mean, I’m grateful it’s not a child but man...was not expecting this at all.
DH took her to a McD’s for a cheeseburger and I’m going to take plenty of photos of her and with the kids JIC.

The weekend was busy with home renos, the kids were a major help and loved being involved.
I just got an email this morning that the quarterly 'choice' for school has been taken away from us, so the decision that we make by Oct 15th will be the decision until June 2021. It's too hard to schedule staff and ensure a proper learning environment. I get it, this sucks for everyone but damn.
