flamingo I'm sorry, that's tough vino do you know which way you are leaning? I was originally upset that they made us all remote, but it some way, it's easier to have the choice taken out of my hands. klong11 oof to the rough morning. I'm sorry trtlcrzy holy crap. Like she got up, got her self dressed, made her self breakfast, packed her lunch and grabbed her backpack and left? Wow! Child of the year you have there!!! She woke up, ate a frozen waffle or pop tart, got dressed, put a snack and her iPad in her backpack and left. She eats lunch at school. I set a reminder on Alexa 10 minutes before the bus comes saying “time to go to the bus”. She usually comes and gets me when that goes off. I can't believe she got the ipad & snack. She is a rock star!!

Ahh ignore my earlier comment trtlcrzy. She still is pretty awesome though! S can do any/all of those things, but often needs prodding. I would let him walk/ride his bike on his own except we live on the main road. But he is super responsible and he sometimes rides home from the park ahead of MH if I am home and B is with them (like if he has to pee or something, B is super slow). It's around the corner with no streets to cross. He is extremely cautious and I don't worry.

Thank you all for the hair pats. Our vet spoke with the oncologist before talking to us and sent him all the x-rays, etc. Left unchecked they estimate she has 3-6 months...apparently we “caught it early.” So we will see what we find out in terms of if it’s spread, etc. Sorry for the rambling...I mean, I’m grateful it’s not a child but man...was not expecting this at all. DH took her to a McD’s for a cheeseburger and I’m going to take plenty of photos of her and with the kids JIC. I'm so sorry. I hope she is pain-free for a while and you guys can love on her longer.. Share some photos here. Been a while since we saw her. We should start an animal thread. Haven't done one in forever.

I’m so sorry flamingo. I hope that the oncologist has some insight for you all. Also I like peachsmama idea! I’ll start a thread!

trtlcrzy l will get dressed brush his teeth and then wake C up if he hasn’t gotten up by 0630. If I’m wfh he’ll ask me for breakfast and I’m required to wake C. But he would never do that much. That’s pretty awesome.

Josie could get herself ready and could make breakfast, but I don’t think she would. And I know for sure they definitely would never leave the house. She just started to get up and out of bed on her own this past spring, but I’m always up before them anyway.

vino, I hear a lot of that. What I like about Josie‘s remote learning is that she also is done by 1:45 or 2 and then it’s just a lot of unstructured play time here which I’m seeing is really not so much the case in first grade, and I still think they very much learned through that kind of play.

My kid does nothing for herself in the morning. Not without a hundred reminders and me basically holding her hand. She can do all the things, she just doesn't. #lazy

My kids know the routine in the morning, I give them reminders but if they are dragging their asses I just tell them the car is leaving.
One time I got in the car, opened the garage door and backed out onto the driveway. Of course I wasn't going anywhere but the kids lost their minds as if I was really going to go. Now if their dragging they tell each other 'the car is leaving'.
I guess I go for the full impact of parenting. I swear I love them to the moon and back.

The kids never came out looking for me. When I came back inside M asked how much I would pay her to watch H for the day.

I've walked out of the house without them before. Mostly B, since S usually is ready and on time and trying to push B to get out the door. I did it twice. First time B freaked out and ran to the door for me. Second time, he went over and grabbed the tablet and sat down in his chair to watch. Would have been funny, if I wasn't trying to get somewhere...
