I don’t have much this week
Last night: ribs, mashed potatoes, squash, honey carrots for the boys
Tonight: leftovers for us, Hawaiian roll turkey sandwiches/fruit for the boys
Tues: CT’s spicy miso pasta, sautéed shrimp
Wed: tbd- whatever leftovers we have/ easy stuff- chicken sausages, etc.
Thursday- take out
I made egg roll in a bowl for my lunches this week and for a filler for leftover/non cooking nights.

I now we've discussed this before... but can you guys say what from this your kids eat? I feel like my kids used to eat everything and now, nope. Even things that used to be crowd pleasers are not hard to get them to eat.

I now we've discussed this before... but can you guys say what from this your kids eat? I feel like my kids used to eat everything and now, nope. Even things that used to be crowd pleasers are not hard to get them to eat. I sometimes have to cook an additional thing for the boys to eat. Like last night M won’t eat squash or potatoes, so I made them honey carrots in the IP to go with the ribs. I pulled the meat off the bone for them though. I don’t think they would have eaten it off the bone and I didn’t want to have to coax them into it. It was Costco preseasoned ribs I did on the grill. They are really good and easy on the grill. They will eat shrimp- I’m hoping he will like the pasta this week. They eat pasta, but first time I’m making the miso pasta. I am altering the spicy in hopes that they will eat it. If not, I will keep some plain pasta on the side and toss it in this flavored butter I keep in the freezer for them. On leftover nights where I have only enough for me and mh, I keep easy stuff on hand in the freezer like chicken apple sausages/nuggets/grilled chicken that takes no time to heat up in the toaster oven or on the grill.

Even things that used to be crowd pleasers are not hard to get them to eat. Dd will eat almost anything we eat, which still feels bizar to us. With ds we try to aim for something that ‘feels’ similar. So for example when we eat fish, with rösti and rubber beans, he’ll eat chicken schnitzel, with cucumber, carrots and potato balls. When we eat wraps with chicken or salmon, he’ll eat wraps with Swedish meatballs or chopped up chicken nuggets (gross I know...). The pasta is the same sauce, but put trough a blender without the pesto etc etc.

Sunday: cheesey chicken chili Monday: potato beef stew Tuesday:leftovers Wednesday: apple cider Dijon chicken thighs and sweet potato fries Thursday: eggs, protein pancakes, fruit Friday: leftovers jewels, we give the kids what we have. I typically always add raw veggies (they love) and fruit. Sometimes I'll add some cheese and crackers or yogurt if I don't think they'll eat much of our meal. If I know it's something they absolutely won't eat I'll do a side is pasta. The boys are good eaters but L isn't so much.

I had a meal plan for this week but then Dh smoked a huge pork shoulder on Saturday and I made homemade Mac and cheese and beans so we have leftovers for days. And we unexpectedly have something going on most nights this week.
Tonight- leftovers Tuesday- neighborhood night out- everyone brings a crockpot of soup/chili Wednesday- Dh and I have meetings so something easy for the kids with the babysitter Thursday- Ls birthday. Either eat out or spaghetti at home Friday- dinner out n with friends, kids with babysitter. Saturday- pizza Sunday- Ls bday party- shredded cheesy turkey sandwiches and easy sides

jewels, my kids eat almost everything, but I do find that how I serve something to Charlie definitely matters. Josie went through this a couple of years ago also. She was happy to eat all of the components of a meal but didn’t want anything layered on top of each other. For instance, we had chili last night. Josie was able to eat a bowlful and put onions, avocado, and cheese on it and have her chips on the side, but for Charlie I made a flat plate of all the pieces and he ate most of them separately and some things together.

jewels my kids eat nothing, basically. I released it once X was diagnosed and figured getting everyone to the table is my job, and they can have something else if they don’t like it. Not to say I will make a separate meal, because I won’t, but they need to sit at the table and if they don’t care for what we’re having they can cobble something together with fruit, cheese, hard-boiled eggs, etc.

So this weeks meal plan went horrible
Sun - Salisbury steak mixed veg and potatoes Mon - Mac n cheese with ham and broccoli Tuesday was suppose to be hot dogs with broccoli tots but C said we had hot dogs in the freezer and we didn’t and it was a rough day so had CFA delivered Wed - suppose to be soppy joe skillet but we got Farmer Boys to go. We all got flu shots so we went through the drive thru Thursday - suppose to be grandma’s chicken bake but we got home late thanks to traffic so I made the kids grilled turkey and cheese. Fri - pepperoni spinach and mushroom pizza Sat - cheese burger hamburger helper. But I think we will get the sloppy joe skillet instead.
