I think I forgot to say Happy Anniversary! trtlcrzy I now have a birthday twin in my distant family. My cousin’s fiancé had been in the hospital for preeclampsia. She is 31 weeks and she went back in last night and they needed to do the c section this morning. Send good vibes their way. I know she will be a little fighter because we are resilient! Her name is E.mil.ia I like it.

kim22 I love Sweden, it is so tranquil. We had planned to go last summer, but off course that didn’t happen. Even tough our country is bordering Germany outside Berlin, I’ve never really been there, it just doesn’t pull me in. If you’re doing Spain and France and want to add another country I think I’d add Italy, or make a pit stop in London. My friend from Serbia thinks we could rent a car and drive most of the trip but she travels all over the world. Does that sound reasonable for people with very little travel experience? DH travels for work but that’s all arranged for him by professionals. I’m afraid I will arrive and not know what to do with ourselves.

kim22 my first Europe trip was in high school and we went to London, Paris, and Madrid. We day tripped from Madrid to Seville. It was only a week so it was rushed but two weeks would have been perfect. We went to Barcelona for our honeymoon for ten days and it was amazing. I highly recommend it. There’s so much to do and other places nearby to day trip to.

I would think it’d be rushed, especially with a family of 6. For two weeks I’d do a couple countries with maybe a couple days in a major city. Fly into London for two days then fly Easyjet to Spain/Portugal to tour, fly home from Barcelona Fly into Paris for 2 days, train to south of France, tour and train all the way to southern Italy and fly home from Rome Fly into Dublin, tour Ireland and Scotland down to London, and if there’s time do a quick fly Easyjet to Amsterdam for a couple days. OMG I miss traveling. 😭

kim22 it can be done with a car, but with kids I’m not sure I’d want to. It is a lot! Especially if you do not have much experience traveling. Last year with the kids we stuck to a max. of 4-5 hours drive and then 3-4 days in one place. Didn’t always work out that way, but we’ve traveled a lot! There’s a good train connection between London and Paris it will take you about 2.5 hours, I’d take that any day over a plane. It will bring you straight from city centre to city centre. A plane ride will take you 30 minutes, but will place you an hour our of both city centres that you need to take a cab or train ride to get to then . vino seriously if you come to Amsterdam let me know!

kim22 (and anybody who want to go to Europe) maybe an afterthought, but think carefully about when to travel in Europe. City’s can become sweltering hot, with little to no means to cool down... Paris especially does not have outdoor pools/streams etc. I found that out the hard way whilst staying in Paris for three weeks when six months pregnant... Barcelona/Rome/Amsterdam are relatively close to the beach, so you might want to consider staying at the beach and venturing into the city when with kids.

Good point nam2013, I traveled for the month in February and May when I went and the weather was wonderful. So yes, if you could swing ‘off season’ it’d be better.
