Hi!
DD is 5m and EBF. She has recently been getting very upset while nursing. For awhile I thought it was supply issues, but now I'm wondering if she's getting frustrated because she's not getting milk fast enough. I noticed yesterday while I was pumping that it took 3.5 minutes to start getting any milk, so now I'm concerned there's a letdown problem.
When she nurses, she will pop on and off multiple times and scream in between. Once she starts getting milk, she's just fine.
Did anyone experience this? Is there anything I can do? It's very frustrating (probably for both of us!), and it makes it difficult to NIP because she's popping on and off so much in addition to being so upset.

Hi! Can you help the let down? Massage your breast for a minute or so before she latches on. Same when you pump. Pump and massage.

seconding massage and trying to relax- probably at this point both of you are stressed about nursing. maybe watch tv or do something on your phone to keep your mind off of what's happening with your letdown. and i'd try to avoid situations where you would have to NIP until your LO is past this phase. kellymom has more good info here: kellymom.com/bf/got-milk/supply-worries/letdown/
