Im pretty sure I can't spend money for the next few months after yesterday. Got some good deals, but it was definitely a lot.
K decided this morning that she was going to vehemently reject the first two shirts I chose. I am not ready for this amount of independence. What is going on in your world today?

Chugging my coffee and psyching myself up for work. Need to be extra productive! I have a big deliverable today. Good thing my morning went so smoothly I was able to get in before 8!

DD has been very opinionated about her clothes since about 12 months. I usually pull out 2 options and let her choose her outfit every morning. She often rejects my two options and digs in her dresser for something else.

I wound up talking H into the Echo AND letting me order the Ninja coffee bar yesterday. I'm so excited! Especially for the coffee bar, because it should arrive Thursday, just in time for me to be able to experiment with all the fun coffee this weekend. But today I might actually have to work and earn some money again.
Today did start off with a huge win though - it was the first day in probably over a month that DS didn't cry during day care drop-off! Fingers crossed he's finally getting used to the new classroom (he only goes twice a week, so our adjustments tend to take a little longer than most I think).

I will say it's nice because it made LBB and independent dresser at an early age, so I don't have to do much with him in the morning.

Another meeting this morning and part 2 of the training this afternoon. I'm so wiped at the end of the day.
BH has taken to going into his brother's room and filling his pockets with toys and rocks (from LBB's rock/mineral collection). I'm going to have to invest in more pocket-less shorts.

My kid has figured out she can leave her room since she is no longer in a crib. She was in my room at 4 am today. OMG hold me. We don't want to put door knob things on her door so that she can't get out - would rather 'train' her to stay in her room, so now I need to figure out how to do that. lol

I didn't buy anything for Prime day. I didn't really look too much but there isn't really anything that I was in the market for anyways.

Waking up to a kid standing next to your bed is one of the freakiest things ever. Can you get one of those red light green light clocks and tell her she can only leave her room when it's green?

Leo loves his pockets! Sometimes I crack up at the things he tries to stick in there. Like his juice box. He is not a happy camper when he realizes his shorts have none.

I was thinking about doing that. We live in really small apartment and she doesn't have a bedside table, but I think it might be the way to go. I think part of the problem, too, is that we have a newborn at home, and I think sometimes the newborn crying at night to be fed is waking her up.

Can you mount a little shelf to the wall and put it on that?

Oy, I'm on a spending freeze now. I got so many things. New baby monitor with video (current one is audio only but we're transitioning out of the crib soon), toddler pillow and pillow cases, toddler Bluetooth headphones, balance bike, dog bed, dog nail clippers, salt/pepper grinders, and about a billion yogurt melts.
But I spent $0 on myself!

DS is thankfully still happy to hang out in his bed until one of us opens his bedroom door and turns on the light (and if we just do the door, he starts saying "turn the light on!"). He does love his OK to Wake clock, so I'm hoping that will help when he decides to wander out of bed someday.

Morning! DS and I have gone grocery shopping already and I think it's going to be a lazy rest of the day because it's humid and gross outside.
We went to FIL's house for supper last night. I only rolled my eyes a few times, so I'll call it a win.

She was totally happy to talk to herself and hang out in her crib, but of course we had to take the side off once she showed interest in climbing it, and now she pops out at 6:30 (apparently on a good day )

I thought he was okay until DS was born, then he seemed to decide I'm a terrible mom--first he thought I wasn't doing enough and now he seems to think I'm a helicopter parent. At this point it's probably mostly cracker-eating after listening to that for the last three years. I let DH do most of the child wrangling when we're visiting with that side of the family because even when he does the same things I'd do, there's never a comment.

I love how our parent's generation completely forgets how much work and effort went into parenting. I hear a lot of "in my day" at family functions and I just roll my eyes and koko.

I definitely have to remind myself that a lot of it is generational too--he worked a lot so stepMIL could be home with my SILs (he and MIL were only together long enough to get her KU with DH and wasn't in the picture for the first couple of years, so he basically skipped the baby stuff with him), so he really wasn't the same kind of involved dad that DH and a lot of other guys now are. It took me entirely too long to learn to KOKO because no matter what I do as a parent, I'll never win. I've actually been told I held DS too much (by FIL) and not enough (by my super-crunchy "midwife" cousin who apparently thinks it's my fault my kid needed a helmet).

I'm done! Not really, but my major work for the close period is done. With the deadline shifts I'm not sure if I'm on time, late or what. But no one's complained, so....
I need to make some personal calls. And I've been itching to shop too. Not on Amazon though. I'm planning the baby's baptism and need to find invites and outfits, etc.

Productive day at work, but I'm becoming more and more aware of how much work I actually have to do. I'm working with a good group, so at least I'm not in the trenches alone. I'm waiting at the dentist now. The just had a staff meeting so all the dental hygienists came out of the conference room and are frantically rushing around. I'm perfectly happy waiting a little longer... I never look forward to the dentist.

My in laws are officially on their way back to FL as of earlier today!
Also, our dishwasher will be fixed tomorrow and In-laws are paying the bill! So that will help my life out with the dishes after I run a couple empty loads of baking soda/vinegar through it
