I know a few of us mentioned we were thinking of getting them for the upcoming birthdays/holidays so I wanted to start a thread with questions, and tag inthekitty lol

1) Is the regular switch that much better than the lite to be worth the $100 extra?
2) I can't seem to find... does it come with games? Or do we need to make sure we have some right away?
3) I found one that comes as a bundle with a MarioKart game and a 12 month digital membership.  It's an extra $160.  Do I need the membership? Is it worth it??  

Talk to me like I am 100 years old here.  Because I am.

Following. There is a bundle on Sams club that is 350. It comes with a case, wireless controller, car charger, and longer battery life. I think I want it if it ever comes back in stock. If I can get the regular $300 one, I will buy it with plans to return if that one comes in stock.

The Lite is handheld only unless you buy the controllers separate.
The Switch itself is both handheld, tabletop and tv play. Thus the price difference.

I think I want the regular one - I like the idea that we can hook it to the tv and that the boys can play together.

His BFF has one, I wonder if they could play against each other, is that what the digital membership does?

Lolz. I was afraid that the tag might have been a dick pic that I'm waiting for (yes, you read that correctly) so I had to wait until I got on my phone.

Yes, like klong11 said, the regular Switch has capability to be mobile or on the TV. The Switch Lite cannot be hooked up at the TV and there are a few games that require the detachable controllers so you'd have to buy those separately if you wanted to play those.

Last year the Christmas deals included Mario Kart--I don't know if it will come with any games due to the high demand this year. Most of the time I've seen just the console for sale.

The charge cord needed is USB (same as Samsung phones) if you want to buy additional (they come with one), or alternatively save on additional if you already have one.

I would consider getting a SD Card. I probably went overkill and got 256 gb for mine ($40 on Amazon) but I'm sure 125gb (or less) would be plenty. That way you can get digital games instead of having to change between game cartridges. The cartridges are small so that way you don't have to worry about them getting lost.

The digital membership is not necessary. It allows access to some games, a lot of the classic NES collection. I've been tempted to get it for me sometime because I love the classic games, but life's been too busy.

We got the switch for O. We got the one that you can play on the tv too. I’m glad we got that one. MH has already had to buy a memory card for it because we needed more space for games. It was full after 3 games. The two games he likes so far is MarioKart and Super Smash Bro’s.

For anyone still thinking about buying it, it's currently available at Target... I just purchased it! It will be here Thursday.

lahdeedah, what's funny is yesterday it was available at Best Buy but not at Target. I put it in my cart but was waiting for MH b/c he had a gift card. He gave it to me this morning and I went to complete the transaction which is when it came up as out of stock. I quickly checked back at Target and it was there! So I bought it before I was too late.

Definitely the earliest I have ever bought a birthday present for the kids
