I know there was a thread on either this pb site or the other but I don't feel like looking. Anyways, the 2 yo and I are flying to CA from VA Tuesday. It's non stop but still toddler in a plane is the worst.
I bought a kindle kid's tablet for her and been tinkering with it to understand how it works. I understand that I can download games and books to use while not connected to wifi. I know you can watch movies/shows on it but how the heck or where do you download shows? It won't let me save videos to her library.
Also, any app games recommendations and shows would be appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know how to save them so you can use them offline. With the free subscription to the freetome that came with it, we've only been using that so far.
But as to apps that my son really likes, right now he is playing the Sesame Street Numbers game. We also have the Sesame Street Letters but he isn't as interested in that one. For yourself, I mean your child, the Finding Nemo reef one is fun too. I spent way too much of my life building a coral reef for Nemo and his friends. It is a little old for a two year old though. My son liked to watch me and help pick coral but he wasn't really able to play by himself.
For shows, right now Daniel Tiger and Blues Clues, both free with freetime. We also tried the Wild Kratts the other day and were interested but not dedicated and haven't asked for it again.

Ok. I just downloaded PBS kids so I could remember how it worked. So I download it on my profile. Then click settings. Then under the "personal" heading click Profiles and Family Library" then click the child's profile you want to add things to. Then the stuff you have downloaded should pop up and you click it to add it to their library. Hope that works!

Download shows through Video. Not every show is available to be downloaded, so you may need to "fish."
I haven't figured out how to move it onto my son's screen, so he watches them on "my side" when he wants to watch a movie or television show.

+1 for the PBS Kids app, my son also likes the Lego trains app. No kindle so I'm no help with anything else I'm afraid.

I hate the stupid kid's Kindle and wish I could have convinced my MIL to just get her an iPad mini but as for shows, if you have Netflix you can download that app under the kid profile and then save videos that are downloadable through that.
