I'm drinking some beers, writing some Vote Forward letters and watching Sense and Sensibility. Alan Rickman in S+S is so swoon worthy (I hope this isn’t a UO here). May need to watch tonight. And you know how I feel about ET I ended up buying a copy of the published screenplay that has Emma Thompson's set diaries and it makes me so happy: "The party on Saturday was wild. Everyone fell on the opportunity to let go and was drunk before having drunk anything. Alan nearly killed me, whirling me about the place. Everyone was under the table by midnight except Greg, who was on the ceiling....home at 3:30 am in a taxi, arseholed." (Greg being Willoughby who she married irl.)

Also something about Alan Rickman telling a cat at a hotel to "fuck. off." which I can just picture in my head.

Hey everyone! I just signed up to write letters for vote forward. Hopefully I get approved. Do you have suggestions for other ways to help? I don't really want to phone bank unless there are places I can do it for just an hour or so. It's hard with my kids and my youngest to get enough time on the phone. Thanks! Postcards? I'm not sure where you live but I know Postcards for VA was looking for postcards writers. I'm sure other states/campaigns are probably doing postcards, too.

I’ll look at more sites today. I got approved for vote forward so I’m also going to start writing letters today.

I'm not sure if this goes here as activism, but I got an email this weekend that I my application to be a poll worker was accepted. I have my training next weekend. I'm excited but also nervous.

I'm texting for Ohio right now! It is pretty easy to do. I have another shift with them next weekend and two with Florida this week. I'm also signing up to write postcards for Jaime Harrison. Channeling my anger into productivity!

Just finished my phone banking shift. Lots of wrong numbers and my last call was a creeper who invited me to his naked party.
Helped a couple old ladies figure out early voting.
Feeling tired but will keep going.

I’m going to be an election judge too. Did my online training already. Luckily they were able to let me do a half day since I’m still breastfeeding and need to be home for bedtime.

I would love to volunteer to be a poll watcher, but unfortunately with the pandemic I don't feel comfortable. Definitely going to look into after - *gestures widely* all this - is over.
I'd been texting for 2020 Victory, but usually couldn't start until around 7pm when DD is getting ready for bed, and lately they've been all out by that point >.< Any ideas of other texting campaigns I can join? I signed up to text for Moms Rising twice but they haven't sent me any info other than a general confirmation email. Also doing letters for Vote Forward for PA, and helping compile candidate info for Vote411 for League of Women Voters.
Tonight is our local democratic committee meeting on Zoom so I'm hoping to attend and get more ideas.

I have 40 Vote Forward letters to do. 20 from TX and 20 from SC. I wanted to do IA but they were all spoken for, which is a GREAT problem to have. I would love to do more but I will have to see how long it takes me to do these 40. There are Iowa letters available now if you are interested.

I had a rough texting shift yesterday - lots of trolls, being told to go f myself, a Bernie supporter who's voting for T to teach the DNC a lesson, etc. I had to calm myself down afterwards by writing a bunch of Vote Forward letters. At least those don't talk back to me

At least those don't talk back to me From the Victory 2020 slack channel it sounds like yesterday was a bad day for a lot of texters. I wasn’t able to text yesterday because of my schedule but I read the posts and questions people had. I’m guessing a lot of people were blowing off steam because of the horrendous debate. I’m sorry you had to deal with that.

I just finished my 100 postcards to PA female voters ages 18-35 and am feeling very kickass about it. I want to thank pretty sharpies and red wine for getting me through, 2 days before my deadline to mail them all out. Now I'm moving on to my stack of Vote Forward letters.

I had an extra hour by myself today and was going to work but I decided to jump on the victory 2020 texting instead. So glad I did. Lots of good support today and people either already volunteering or interested in signing up.

I just had a great shift calling voters in PA. It feels hopeful in the chaos to help people make a voting plan.

Got my poll assignment :-) I also signed up with vote forward to write letters so I think I'm going to work on those tomorrow after the kids go to bed. I'm starting to get even more anxious for the election as it gets closer.

I called Georgia voters today and had a great experience. So many supporters and people have already voted.

I really didn’t want to do my shift for North Carolina today as it was kind of a bummer last week and I’m tired. But I’m glad I did. Today we had a Democrat voter list and people were much nicer. And I even got a real life undecided voter that was willing to engage. We talked about healthcare and hopefully I convinced him that the GOP has no plan whatsoever.

I’m plugging away at my vote forward letters. My hand gets tired after a few letters, I am not used to writing with a pen to paper so much these days. 😅

To those signed up with Postcards to Voters, they just added a campaign for Adair Boroughs for SC02, which is Joe "you lie" Wilson's seat. She's awesome!

I grew up in that district and know a couple of people who know Adair Boroughs personally and say that she's a wonderful person. I really like the candidate for my SC district but sadly I think we'll end up keeping the current asshole. I've been working on postcards for Jaime Harrison this week!
