I have 40 Vote Forward letters to do. 20 from TX and 20 from SC. I wanted to do IA but they were all spoken for, which is a GREAT problem to have. I would love to do more but I will have to see how long it takes me to do these 40.

I haven't been able to get any text assignments for a couple of weeks. That's impressive.

I sent 1200 texts yesterday and signed up almost 30 people to make phone calls! Had several great conversations with many others that can’t volunteer but do plan to vote. Only had a few nasty Trump replies.
Get like I really made a difference yesterday. Planning on doing it again today!
If you haven’t done the Victory2020 text training yet, I really recommend it. You can work from your phone, anywhere. Super easy and very rewarding!

My calendar is packed this week. More phonebank training tonight with the Biden campaign, then the Hamilton Vote Forward letter event. Tomorrow I'm phone banking and doing the text training. And then I'm phone banking more on Thursday and Friday, for multiple campaigns.
I'm pumped.

I just mailed 30 postcards for Amy McGrath and another 10 Biden/Harris postcards for female voters in PA between 18-35 years old. I have 90 more to do for that but I have 2 weeks to do them so I'll just continue to mail them as I complete them. I managed to do the 40 in about 24 hours' time, I'm not sure how long it actually took me but they move quick so it is easy to write a couple every time I have a few minutes.
I'm up to 70 Vote Forward letters - my goal is 150 by the send-out date so almost halfway there!

I had to edit my postcard text a smidge. It was so long I couldn’t get it to fit on the post card!

Ah, yep, there it is. This keeps happening where events are running late and then it doesn't actually start unless you refresh it. So annoying.

Good trivia for cakewench but she probably already knows: there are 1,330 lighting cues in Hamilton

Good trivia for cakewench but she probably already knows: there are 1,330 lighting cues in Hamilton I once bitched I had to call over 200 in act one of my company’s production of Legally Blonde. Never again 😂 But seriously, I think I’ve said it on here before that I’d love to take their SM for a beer and just listen. The tech in that show is as tight and seamless as everything else, it’s really amazing.

Once again, up at the wee hours stressing about this election. My anxiety is NOT well controlled right now.
So- I want to ask.....in order for, on Nov 4th, you to be able to say “I did everything I could”......what would you have had to do?
Does that even make sense? Lol I want to make sure I’m doing everything I can be doing. I’m donating. I’m texting for Biden and Hegar. My house is known as “the Biden house” by the entire neighborhood because I have bedazzled it in Joe signs and flags.
I’m a bit limited because my kids are remote learning, but I want to be able to say “I did all I could”, regardless of the outcome.
So what does that look like for you?

Rebel I feel like I have so low bandwidth right now so I’m struggling to figure out what to do as well. I have my Biden Harris sign out, I wear my shirt plus my vote masks when I leave my house. I am kind of off social media right now but I’ve posted some GOTV type stuff and if I see people posting positive stuff, I like it and share it. I have a bit of an echo chamber so I don’t really engage in a lot of persuasion of T voters in my life since they are cut out and a lost cause in my opinion. I just started phone banking again and plan to do 1-2 days per week until the election. I’m in CA, so focusing on swing states, POTUS and Senate candidates. I will be texting when I can too. I may add postcards but I don’t know if I have time. I don’t donate as much. H and I have a disagreement on donating money to political campaigns so I’m limited there. We have agreed to buy merchandise and volunteer but our charity dollars go to non-profits providing services in our community, which is our agreement. I’m not sure what I else to do, but I’m all ears.

I don't think I'll ever feel I did enough unless In volunteering literally 15 hours a day bit I also have to pay attention to my kids sometimes and occasionally clean stuff. At this point I'm phonebanking daily. I'm texting whenever I can. I'm ordering some more postcards. I signed up to do a lit drop for Mark Warner.

jaygee dc2london I’m reading and ruminating on your responses. I’m taking a 5 min break from texting for Hegar. This is my first time. I signed up for a 4 hour shift. And fuck, I need to do shorter shifts for Hegar. Its brutal. I have gotten more “fuck you”’s in the past 2 hours, sending 900 texts than I have sending 3000 texts for Biden. Ugh. It’s a real downer.

I'm sorry Texting is definitely easier but I think the impersonal nature of it lets people think they can be nasty. Phonebanking is at least a disembodied voice, so people are less likely to be nasty. I haven't had very many rude text responses but it can really just be the luck of the batch. When I have a rough experience, I try to volunteer again ASAP in hopes of having a better, more motivating experience.

Something I saw recently made me stop and think about how I am mailing out my postcards. I am using the postcard postage stamps, of course. I just put the stack in my mailbox and my mail carrier took them- was I supposed to take them to the post office? Do I need to sort them since they aren't first class mail? None of them are in my own zip code so all are out of town.
I just want to make sure I am not making things difficult. I am mailing 20-30 postcards at a time. I will take all my vote forward letters to the post office because they wouldn't fit in my mailbox anyway.

Lately I feel like I am channeling Alexander Hamilton because every single spare second I have, I am writing a postcard or a letter. Because I am running out of time! It keeps me from mentally spiraling into an unhealthy place though so I'm rolling with it.

Then again it's one of those neighborhood lockbox things, so everything goes in the outgoing slot. I'm also going to take the vote fwd letters to the post office since there are so many.

Rebel, I'm texting and writing postcards. I'm also trying to involve myself in local politics—I'm supposed to meet with our local rep to help with marketing, and I'm trying to make some change in our local dem community. Ideally I'd phonebank too, but I've accepted that just isn't going to happen. My anxiety and my unreliable head just doesn't work for it. I think I'm going to sign up for another text group. I'm also attempting to talk to Trump people. There aren't really any in my life, but I'm trying to engage with others I see on friends' posts and such. I have no idea if it does anything, but I've had some conversations that I think might have made a dent. Speaking of the postcards—lord, y'all, the script for the Grassroots folks is loooooonnnggg. I'm left wondering if I should have gotten oversized post cards. Is your grassroots script the one about voting for Joe and kamala to manage covid and the economy? Then mail in and in person voting info? It's long. And no matter how I try i can't make it look "cute" and get it all to fit, so I'm just going with different ink colors to break it up. These are the ones I am doing, I have to be really careful to write small (compared to how I write normally, anyway):

They're *more* than what's needed, so it should be okay...I think? I am waiting on my postcard stamps and so was just going to use what I have. You can use regular stamps, it’s just more expensive.

Hey everyone! I just signed up to write letters for vote forward. Hopefully I get approved. Do you have suggestions for other ways to help? I don't really want to phone bank unless there are places I can do it for just an hour or so. It's hard with my kids and my youngest to get enough time on the phone. Thanks!

I'm drinking some beers, writing some Vote Forward letters and watching Sense and Sensibility. This movie was my happy place on Election Night 2016, and in the days after. I almost wrote 2020 there and god knows with whatever fuckery 45 has planned I’m gonna need it.

I'm drinking some beers, writing some Vote Forward letters and watching Sense and Sensibility. My favorite Austen movie. This sounds like the perfect evening. Only 20 more minutes until I’m free from Blippi hell and will be writing more postcards for Jon Ossoff in Georgia.
