Morning! Trying to make a meal plan for the week but I'm in a rut. Just cleaning, grocery shopping, ect today over here. Seriously silly, but I made a list of all the things we eat on a regular basis (30 dishes or so). Each week I look at what’s left in the fridge/freezer and at the list and then make a mealplan. It is not the most inventive thing, but it makes things easier. That's actually pretty smart!

Yum! I'm going to try some of them. I ended up doing my grocery order and got stuff for homemade tomato basil soup and grilled cheese, creamy Crock-Pot chicken noodle soup, and salmon and sweet potatoes to start the week.

tgrimes my dad used to make that last one quite often, he just add a layer of spinach to add some veggies. I’m really craving this dish lately, but no one in my household will eat this except me ☹️. ETA glad H seems al little better! We make shepherds pie quite often in the winter. Yum.

It took my kids for.ever. To come around on mashed potatoes! I do not get it at all. B now loves them and I think C is finally over the hump, but it took years and serving them many times.

With ds I’m not even going to try, but I might win over dd... I was thinking Shepard’s pie might be a nice freezer meal for when the baby comes! Thank @klongoria!

I’m going to try out that chicken parm dish tgrimes. Dh will be so impressed if I make something other than shake and bake and I think I can handle that! C won’t eat mashed or baked potatoes. I’m finally getting him to eat chicken regularly though so I’m not pushing it.

We had a flag football combine this morning. It was more serious than I expected and a lot more kids. I was annoyed that not all were wearing masks but C did a good job of staying clear of those kids and so is distancing. The coaches had the kids run timed drills and they took notes on the sidelines. We find out teams by Thursday and have our first scrimmage next weekend.
Nothing else planned for the day. Just tidying, catching up with laundry and prepping for the week. I’ll probably read and nap at some point soon while C is taking some rest time watching Pokémon. I should probably pull out some old weather stuff. C and I are biking in tomorrow and it’s going to be around 40 degrees.

You don't want to get him too excited about your cooking skills.

I bought some piano books from Amazon and they were delivered Friday so i spent several hours yesterday playing Disney songs and a few classics like Imagine, Canon in D and some broadway hits. Now if only my children could leave me alone so I can actually learn Clair de Lune. That one looks pretty intense.

I remember reading that it takes eating something ten times for your brain to truly decide if you like it or not. I have found it to be so true with my kids...there are quite a few foods that they initially put up a fuss over but have come to love; our rule is that you have to take at least 1 bite when it's served. C's latest new-found favorite is cantaloupe, lol.

Mushy foods have just never been her jam, she was a rapley baby all the way through 😉. But it’s been a year or so since I last tried, so I’m going to try again! Ds is just another story 🤦🏼♀️.

My kids love mashed potatoes. I enjoy them but prefer mashed/baked sweet potatoes. Yum. I love all potatoes. They all have their place in my life lol Mashed regular or sweet potatoes, French fries, and roasted sweet or regular are my favorites but I’ll seriously eat them all Neither kids cares much for potatoes. B likes fries but S doesn’t even really like them. Like when we get a happy meal he just wants the apples. I think it’s weird. I wish they liked mashed potatoes. And shepherds pie is one of my favs. To me it’s a winter comfort food. But I never eat it anymore

I've long given up on my kids with food. Last night dinner was a mini bagel and cream cheese, fruit, and some chips. Basically I feed them lunch every meal. One of them might finally like something and the other won't. It gets so old. I've told them many times "I don't care if you like it or not--that's what's for dinner and if you don't eat it you're not getting anything else."

RBG's death is very sad and scary. I'm just hoping if nothing else it will get some lazy, apathetic dems to vote.

It’s just easier than arguing. My kids eat a lot of meat though so that’s good. Steak, burgers, chicken in any form, pork chops etc are always eaten here. It’s all the side dishes that get fought about

Potatoes are my favorite food group. But GTFO of here with your sweet potatoes. It’s been a while but I think both of my kids will eat mashed potatoes. I should make chicken gravy over mashed potatoes for super, we haven’t had it in a long time and I love it.

trtlcrzy sweet potatoes have their place. GOSH. 🤣 Sweet potato casserole (pecan topping only, no marshmallows), fries, baked...yum. I am an equal opportunity potato eater, I do not discriminate.

I do one with crushed pecans & walnuts that has enough brown sugar , butter etc to kill someone. It's requested at every holiday lol

As far as basic potato dishes I love rainbow mini potatoes, pan-fried with rosemary. Madison forced herself to vomit the first time i made her try a bite.

My Thanksgiving sweet potatoes are round slices that sit overnight with orange slices, brown sugar, raisins, and various spices. They are baked the next day and the marshmallows are added twice. The first time they melt and mix with all the juices, and then the second is just a few minutes prior to serving to get the nice browned topping.
Now I wish it was Thanksgiving.

I don't think I've checked in all weekend. I'm dealing with some body pains and the past two days I've had frozen shoulder on my left side. It's pretty painful and there's not much I can do for it other than nsaids and ice. No bueno.
