Morning folks. DS is finally starting to sleep though the night. Weeee. Today he woke up at 4:50 which just awesome and he ate is back in bed. Of course I can't go back to sleep so I am awake and downstairs by myself. Too bad it's not all relaxing I have about 1000 emails to send off for VBS next week.

Hello. I'm just sitting here wasting a few minutes before I wake C up. I always feel bad waking him up. He's going to ILs today and his cousins will be there so he never wants to nap. Kid has major fomo already.

Lots of early starts today!
D slept great but woke up snottier than ever. And now my throat is starting to feel scratchy. Great.
This baby had better nap today. I'd prefer to not have yet another day of texts from my nanny about how cranky D is and she won't sleep, etc. Like, I can't leave work early every day to help you or sit there worrying about this when I have so much shit I need to do.
On the bright side I'm excited for Amazon packages to start arriving tomorrow!

We're still not sleeping. But H pulled himself to standing last night with zero help from us for the first time. Then he did it 5 more times. He also got up on hands and knees (he army crawls). So poor kiddo has a LOT happening developmentwise; these last 2-3 weeks have been insane.

dashook I find it odd that the nanny would expect you to leave and help her. Like, a daycare wouldn't do that (unless the child was unable to participate or was too much care that they couldn't provide care to the other kids). The teachers/ providers would just be like, well that was a sucky day. But that's the beauty of a nanny, they are at your disposal and have to deal with whatever the kid throws at them. Unless, that is, you have set this standard. In which case, I'll get off my rant.

We did not have an awesome night. I've been putting DS2 in his Merlin suit still, but he's started rolling over in it. Last night I tried to go without it and it was a disaster. I think the longest stretch he went was an hour.

My boss just came up to me and asked if I was familiar with a change that we've literally been discussing for months. He said he wanted to go over it at a high level.. I told him I've been in all the meetings about this and know about it at a detailed level. He just looked at me like "oh really?" @&$$!! seriously dude?! I sat with you just a couple weeks ago and helped you set up the agenda for the meeting that we're having in an hour. Geezus.

There's supposed to be one opening a few towns over but I guess it's on hold for some reason. So who knows if it will ever be built. I've had it in an airport before and it was delicious.

dashook You nanny is special, she needs to do her job so you can do yours. Maybe she doesn't understand how this concept of her being paid for a job works 😉, I'm annoyed for you

The first one here opened up in 2014 or 2015, I think. They put it on the corner of an insanely busy intersection had to have an officer directing traffic into CFA for over a year. Thankfully they opened a second location up north not long after and that one is way less busy. I didn't even attempt CFA at the first location.

I put my wallet in timeout for the rest of this week due to Prime Day shopping, so left over chicken and roasted potatoes. But here is the menu for today: Chipotle Chicken Burrito Chicken grilled in a smoky, lime marinade with minted rice, white beans, jack cheese, pico de gallo, crema de chipotle and guacamole puree in a flour tortilla. Served with fresh chips and scratch made salsa. Chipotle Veggie Burrito Bowl Grilled vegetables, minted white rice, black beans, pico de gallo, jack cheese and chipotle sauce. Served with house-made tortilla chips and roasted tomato salsa. Chicken Tostada Salad Grilled chicken, beans, romaine lettuce, pico de gallo, creamy guacamole dressing, corn salsa & crunchy tortilla strips. Served with a handful of chips and roasted tomato salsa. B.L.T. with House Chips Bacon, lettuce and tomato on ciabatta bread with tomato aioli. Served with pickle and chips. Fried Chicken with Mac and Cheese Two piece boneless fried chicken served with a side of creamy mac and cheese and a small spring salad with vinaigrette. Roasted Vegetable Grain Bowl Roasted eggplant, zucchini and kale with gluten-free herbed grains and lemon-almond dressing. Steak Salad 4 ounces of steak cooked medium with fresh greens, radish, corn, peppers, fennel, beets and a mustard vinaigrette. ETA to fix spacing

I'm with hangry . dashook is she asking you to come help, or is she juat trying to update you and unintentionally stressing you out? I think maybe it's a little of both. She isn't flat out asking me to come help, but in the back of her mind she knows sometimes I do it anyway, so maybe if she complains enough then I will? Like on Monday, I did leave work early to be with D, but that's because D had been up the night before with a barking cough and I was worried for her. I mean I get that it isn't easy to be with two tiny kids all day, especially when one is sick and cranky, but that's what I'm paying her to do, ya know? And it's not like she's some high school kid with other shit going on; she's a 29 year old woman who has chosen childcare as her calling and career. I hope it's okay to say this. Idk. I feel like a lot of people other than me have been taking advantage recently of the fact that my job is so flexible and understanding. It's not their place to do it but they do it anyway. Nanny is doing it today; my MIL was doing it last week when she flat out said to me "your boss isn't expecting you to be working this week so you shouldn't work"--despite knowing that I hadn't taken vacation! Like yes, they were very laid back about me working remotely from the Cape. My boss kept emailing me stuff on cases and saying things like "We'll talk when you get back." But I was working. We were there because MH *was* on vacation and wanted to do it there, but it was NOT vacation for me and I made this very clear to everyone involved. Seriously I agreed to go down there for the week on the one condition that MH and whomever else was going to be around would have to be responsible for the kids. Otherwise I would have stayed home. Btw my MIL made the above comment to me on Thursday night to get out of watching the kids on Friday, despite the fact that she had committed months ago to looking after them the week we would be down there, given that I was going to be working. I don't know how many times I needed to say it: "I'M WORKING." She (a working professional herself) actually went so far as to tell me "You should really enjoy this time with your kids. You might regret it later if you don't." A) Inappropriate AF to say to me, and B) again, she said it with the ulterior motive of trying to back out of watching them Friday. And obviously H "wasn't available" Friday because he was going golfing with his dad. Like WTF to everyone and everything. (If you couldn't tell, this is one part of the story of last week that was bringing me down lol) Tagging hangry and vino since you guys had commented too
