I got a call from the school nurse that B is complaining of UTI like symptoms. I’ve made an appt w her PCP for this afternoon.
For those of you keeping track, she has complained about 3 separate things in the past 3 weeks now. My radar is definitely up. Not trying to sound like a doubting mom but she just acts totally fine when I am with her, plus plays outside for hours w neighborhood friends when she gets home from school, it just doesn’t appear to add up. We’ll let her dr get to the bottom of this.....

I’m sorry DS is struggling nam2013. I’m glad the teacher caught onto that and was able to share this with you.

Morning. Just hanging with the little 2 today. I’m currently fighting with my ice maker again, I’m going to coat the edges in silicone and maybe then it’ll not freeze up again. I have very low expectation that this will actually help. I swapped with my coworker so I am working her shift tonight.

Hi! I think I e lost my mind. We are tent camping this weekend at the lake. Last time I tent camped I swore I’d never do it again 😂. But we waited too late to get a reservation and couldn’t get a cabin. You've totally lost your mind. Godspeed. Yes. MH and C are tent camping. I'm...not going.

yummeecookee hmm. I think you’re smart to investigate with her pedi but if you get the all-clear, then yeah 🤔🤔 Does she seem anxious about school/being out of the house at all? Maybe it’s an attention-seeking thing? I’ve noticed B develops debilitating stomach problems at night, requiring the heating pad, lots of hair pats and sympathy, etc. So weird how they always come on as I’m trying to leave the room.

I think it was because he was bored, quarintine life, and loves the Dr. He's been wishing he needs to spend a night in the hospital since L got to last year.

C brought A as show and tell today (virtual). He told everyone his name is Choo Choo and he loves jumping off diving boards.

I have been wondering if she had any anxieties about being in a brand new school. She just seems so well adjusted and happy. She gets up each morning on her own, gets dressed, doesn’t fight w me or try to delay going. If you ask her, she says she likes it there. I’ve let her teacher know as well so she can be on the lookout in case B is showing any behaviors during the school day. (Thank you for not judging me BTW. I was wondering if by sharing that I had doubts, ppl might just jump to thinking I’m a shit mom who doesn’t believe my kid.)

Today for show & tell Cadence had to show her favorite snack. She chose Pringles. Mh got bent out of shape because pringles aren't healthy....It didn't say what's your favorite healthy snack. How many kids do you think are going to show up on screen with a freaking apple or protein bar? Let her have her damn Pringles and lets just be happy she didn't pick candy, cause that's honestly what I thought she was going to want to show. Josie had to answer questions when she was the “star of the day.” One question is her favorite food. Most kids chose pizza or bagels or cupcakes, but Josie picked anchovies. Last year she told everybody she loved spicy salami. I’m proud of her for sticking to her true food choices even through some of the grimaces I saw in the audience

I'm mixed on camping. It can be fun but it's so much work. And you need so much crap (or at least I do to be remotely comfortable). Years ago we did a big camping trip where we went to 3 different locations. I was so over taking down and resetting up camp by the last location that I was pushing hard to get a hotel. My friends bargained with me and said they'd set up my campsite.

I am a hard no on camping. I do not want to work to set up my vacation, and I do not want to sleep on the floor or an air mattress.

yummeecookee No judgement from me! When E was having urinary issues, I had doubts about it a lot. I still firmly believe a lot of it was nerves/anxiety. Kid still pees a lot when she is in a new situation. Add me to the no thank you to camping in a tent club. Too much work, it always rains, can't get comfortable. I'd much rather stay home.

I can't remember if I told y'all last Friday or not that H has parotitis again. I left a message for the ENT and told him I'd call him this week if it wasn't any better. H hadn't been complaining about it until Wednesday and it had gotten much bigger. Yesterday he requested pics and called in augmentin for him. Hopefully I'll notice a difference over the weekend.

You can get all of these things with an RV. Which is how I camp, a nice in between of 'glamping' and tenting. I'm 39 years old, I aint sleeping on no ground.

I enjoy being out in nature and hiking, kayaking, etc., but at the end of those activities I want to come back to civilization (or at least a really nice mountain house or something )

Update on camping: the truck and boat are packed to the brim. I have a heater, an electric blanket, and a fan (gotta be prepared for any situation). We have a large queen size air mattress that is one of those high ones and it’s actually quite comfy. S and I will sleep on it in 1 tent, then MH gets the twin air mattress in the other tent. I’m certain by the end of the weekend I will say I’m never doing this again...again.
