I forgot to mention that B started soccer yday. I was pretty impressed w her, she’s got some good moves and scored a goal during their scrimmage.
Not much going on for me today. Just awaiting a few UPS shipments, how exciting. 😶

guster kids are amazing right?! The other day ds was asking about his birthday, we told him it would be like DD’s people stopping by, and only grandma/pa coming in for cake and candles. I was expecting disappointment, but no! ‘Well that birthday was fun to and we all have to mis things because of the disease, this will be mij special birthday!’.

I’m sorry you’re having a rough time nam2013 Have you considered talking to a counselor? It may help you prioritize your worries and find strategies to lessen them. Sometimes we need permission to let go of something. This past weekend when we went to my in laws I avoided the news and didn’t use my phone a lot. Even being here can cause me extra worry because I tend to take on the worry of those I care about, which is all of you. My guess is that you are pretty similar. Lots of love! I’m sure this is all extra hard being pregnant. You’re not the first who has mentioned this to me and maybe I should at some point, for now it just feels like one more thing on the agenda. I’m hopeful that once my leave starts (5 weeks 🥳) I’ll manage a bit better. And yes I do tend to take on the worries of those I care about, just like you. Normally traveling (and therefore less time watching the news) helps a lot. We start my leave with a minibreak to the cabin we visit often, so I have positive things on the horizon and feel I should buckle up and stop complaining! I have so many things to feel lucky about.

For my Netflix romcom friends, I watch The Lost Husband last night and I would say it was good but if it had a sex scene and it would’ve been a lot better. I’m looking forward to the one with coach from new girl and Rachel Leigh cook. It looks really cute. That's similar to what I thought. I don't care about Josh Duhamel as a farmhand grump, at least let me see them get it on. I didn't care about her whole parentage thing at the end.

I have to brag on my girl for a bit. I am about a week and a half into virtual learning and I’m not really happy with the synchronous piece of it, but today when I asked her if she was okay with it (without too many leading questions) she said that she was looking at it like it was a recap of last year and she was sure that things would get more challenging soon. I wish I could be as magnanimous as she is. kids sometimes just really have a way of looking at things that I wish I could tap into.

We have meet the teacher in an hour outside at the school, then I promised S an ice cream date with his BFF (who is in his class). For some reason I am kind of nervous for his meet the teacher, I don't know why, lol. It's outside at the school and then we get to p/u his computer and supplies which I ordered last year to be delivered to the school.

I think they are better at rolling with the punches than a lot of adults. People down here were griping b/c of the 'desk shields' the kids are using in class. Our district sent a video out of "a day in the life" to show changes to drop-off, classrooms, etc., and I showed B. His first comment: "The desks look so cool! I can't wait to have my own desk!" I loved that his first instinct was to see the 'bright side'.

I have my formal appeal hearing with the appeal board regarding this damn home based business in my crescent. Wish me luck. I’ve got a nervous stomach and am supremely pissed off she’s put me in this position.
I’m ready and know what my base is and know that I’ll be fine once I get going but I am going to be so happy when this is over.

I just cried for like an hour. 3 hours and 36 minutes into T’s google meet, we quit. If school can’t open, I really may need to just pull him and homeschool at night on my own. It’s awful.

Hi everyone - coming up for air, this week has been a doozy. We hired painters to do our deck and they came Monday and then landscapers that we expected at the end of the month said they could come yesterday, so it's been grand central station outside and too many decisions to make. They are also painting our front door black and replacing our crazy lion knocker that we hate. Our neighbors asked if we were moving with all the work we are doing, ha.
My work is going to increase soon because my coworker is going out on leave so we need to find help. I found a nanny share that I could send Kate too, but maybe we should bring someone in that can help with all 3 kids..but I don't know how that would work since it seems pretty crowded in here. Also the thought of figuring out how to pay a nanny sounds exhausting since taxes confuse me. I'd like to find a college kid doing a virtu or gap year or something that could come part time.

Go get 'em, vino! I'm so sorry kim22, i hate that parents are in this position. If you--A TEACHER--can't navigate it, what is the average parent supposed to do? Crazy.

tallb a lot of the payroll companies have programs for domestic employee payroll. SurePayroll is one I know of (they were a subsidiary of the company I worked for). If you do end up going the nanny-route, there are definitely affordable online services to help you out!

We are fortunate that C's are in hour chunks with hour breaks in between. They need that time away from a screen and to get moving!

Even if it was broken up, 3.5 hours+ of zoom a day is way too much for a 1st grader. I'm so sorry.

kim22 I'm sorry for such a frustrating day. There is no way you are the only parent feeling that way. tgrimes that's crap that you have to keep track of all your time. I get pulled in multiple directions all day long, so I wouldn't be able to keep track in a way that made sense. Hopefully it's shortlived and those jerks don't ruin it for everyone.

That's annoying tgrimes. We had to do that for all telework in the past and for the first month of quarantine. It is a time suck and annoying. I would try to group things together on one line so the time it took wouldn't be suspicious if it took longer than planned due to C. So instead of "uploaded monthly treatment reports 15mins. Opened three cases 30mins. Set up new employee in HR system 30mins. I would put all three together as the task description and 1hr 30mins. Then I gain that 15 mins here and there. From looking at other logs there was a lot of stretching going on. Would that be possible for you?

Hey. Kind of a busy day. I ran some errands while S was at school, side note: the mall not opening until 11 and needing to pick S up at 11:30 is a real issue. I got done what I needed to though. After I picked her up we came home for lunch, I dropped her with MIL and then I went to my dentist appt. I asked about getting braces and got a couple of names of orthodontists to get a consult done. I’m going to schedule a consult for H too because she has crowded teeth like me. tgrimes that’s crap, sorry. I hope your job doesn’t get affected. I’m sorry kim22, I hope you can figure something out that works better for you and T. slenle I would do it, personally. 6 weeks isn’t that long and I’m assuming it’s because they can’t get into daycare until then.
