My dad had M ride in the front seat of his (4 door plenty large) car today. Even though "I told him this wasn't a good idea" according to M. Livid is an understatement. geesh. And i dont mean down the block for fun - I mean to go do errands. Why is he running errands - and with her, anyway? Nope nope nope.

I’m sorry you’re feeling that way, snowmoon. I have wanted to run away from my family a not insignificant amount of times the last few days. Always here if you need a shoulder to bitch on. Thank you.

They were going to where his boat is stored to get things out before it’s wrapped up for winter. He makes her climb up and hand things down. Covid wise safe. Car wise. Apparently not. She even told him it wasn’t a good idea. I yelled at him for sure. And told him he can no longer take her places.

Guys. Municipal zoom meetings. Gosh. I feel like I’ve stopped doing all non essential work (town, volunteer, etc) because I cannot fathom getting back on zoom at 7-8 pm after spending most of the day on it. So draining.

It’s great to have options! My thing would be, does this money plus title put you in a better position to move to your dream location in the future? Like if you bank the salary difference for a set amount of time, one or two years, will you have a down payment on a significantly better place? Or more locations to choose from? Would the title put him in a better position in the job market? If it’s more of an ego stroke than a life changer, I’d stick to your plan. If it’s gonna set you up for the future, it might be worth waiting a bit. If the move is what you both want, I'd stay on that path. Especially if he's already accepted the position. If this isn't your dream location, consider your options. If you stay, make sure to look at his check and make sure they calculated the pay raise correct. He's verbally told them he's going to accept but the contract arrived within an hour of his offer for his current job so nothing is signed/official. The raise is Significant though, more than he'd ever dreamed he would be able to make so that's making it really difficult. Money can't buy happiness but it can buy a lot of other things. I think we are going to decline it and stick with our plan to move, but also let the new place know what he is walking away from and maybe they can sweeten the deal a bit.
