Hi! jewels, that is super annoying. Is it a resort or an Airbnb type situation? I would also be fine with another moderator. All of those listed would be great. So, oddly enough, MHs dad owns the cabin. It’s in a small community if vacation cabins and he uses a management group to handle the rentals. So we had to ‘book’ it through that group (at no charge). The other people booked through air bnb and was there Friday - sun. The management co said they’ve had a few problems with air bnb doing that lately. Anyway, I am pretty sure we will be cutting the trip short. We have had a lot of encounters already with people refusing to wear masks indoors etc and it’s just not worth it to me. We I’ll probably stay 2-3 night so the kids can fish and hike then hightail it out of here. |

jewels oh, that is annoying. Glad they were able to find another place for you last night. Hugs wineallthetime. Sorry you are having a tough time right now. lahdeedah thank you to you and your MIL (or not) b/c now I probably need to make a Dillards run! tgrimes that looks amazing! Love the stain you picked.

jewels Sorry for the snafu with where you are staying, that's annoying but at least they found you something. Sorry you aren't comfortable staying to enjoy your entire time. I'm good with either of the names thrown out for a new mod, if they are.

Morning. C was wanting to play 'dress up party' (aka Mom spreads out alllll the dress-up and C tries everything on) but I got her distracted looking at her baby pics/videos on my phone so I can finish my coffee in peace. We had the neighbor's 3 boys over for most of yesterday, then my sister and nephew came over to eat last night so that was fun. Today is kind of overcast so not sure what is on the agenda; I do need to get groceries for this week. B starts school tomorrow so it's officially our last day of summer. FINALLY.  eta: I am good with a new mod/password change. |

peachsmama what is the name of the place that you go to that has the kangaroo’s? Is it Kentucky Down Under? If so they just bought a place by us and are allegedly going to do the same thing here. I’m excited to see.

Morning all. Mj woke up an hour earlier than her norm. So I'm sleepy. We're doing a drive thru dinosaur thing today. I haven't told the boys yet. A will stay and build the deck but my mom is going with me. A slept in a little today and made us all steak and eggs. Now he's headed outside to work on the deck. He thinks it'll be done by Wednesday. Which would be awesome! Is it the Jurassic quest?? Yes. We've gone to her 3 times when it was in a convention center. Now it's a drive-through out an amusement park. |

Morning. I didn’t check in at all yesterday, I spent most of the day outside, it was such a beautiful day. I Went for a long bike ride with a friend in the morning, then we had friends over to grill and they spent the night.
We’ll do something fun with the kids today since school starts tomorrow. N is excited, I think she’ll be nervous in the morning but it’ll pass quickly.

Ours was in a huge parking lot so kinda odd. The kids LOVED it though. Yeah, the toys and such were expensive, we didn't buy any. |

Another vote for peachsmama, tgrimes. Also think trtlcrzy is a good choice. We got to the cabin around 4:30 yesterday and the lock box was empty. Turns out they double booked it and some one had already checked in! After a long wait, they finally got us alternate accommodations for the night. We settled in here and I think it’s nicer than where we are going. But we’ll have to repack everything today and head back to the other place. I was super frustrated but it ended up ok. I would be so mad. Glad they are working it out though. |

Not much planned today. I need to get out M’s clothes to make sure I have what I need for back to school. He has yearbook pics on his second in person day next week, so I just need to make sure I have a shirt for him.
I would like to get a workout in, too, so hoping to do that.

Checking in. I hate waking up before I need to on the weekend. But at least it gave me a chance to catch up here! We're trying to turn our little kitchen nook into what I'm calling HQ. So far this has entailed buying a console table, white boards, and wood to make a shelf. We were going to replace the kitchen table with something smaller and eat solely in our dining room but decided on just replacing the chairs (it was an old IKEA set) and refinishing the table. It will be come more of a study/project area. Now we need to get rid of this standalone pantry that has become art storage. And I want to add in a coffee bar. I may have spent too much time on pinterest for this one lol Funny changing the private board password has come up, I was just thinking the other day how no one has posted there in a long while... I wanna see pics when it’s done! |

Good morning (for another 7 minutes)! We had a good relaxing morning, DH mowed the yard and then picked up the big girls. Sounds like they had a super fun time with their cousins. DH and the big girls are leaving in a half hour to go help the ILs move some furniture/appliances. They are getting the floor in the kitchen and front room replaced this week. They have linoleum so it will be a good upgrade, they built the house in 90 and have slowly been updating things over the last 5ish years. They’re keeping their honey oak though because MIL likes it. V and I will just hang at home. I have a little more decluttering to work on today. I’m willing to be the mod if that’s what the people want. What are your thoughts peachsmama and tgrimes? |
