So remember how I said my kid hadn’t 💩 since surgery. 3 days in a row of milk of magnesia didn’t help either. So this morning at our follow up with the Neurosurgeon, he suggested a suppository. We had time to kill between appts so I walked down to Walgreens and bought some. Got back to the hospital, utilized the suppository, and within 15 minutes things were happening 😂. But now she’s still working on it...and has some testing coming up. Should be interesting.

nam2013 how quickly are they expecting results? I just got them; negative! My boss was ticked, this was the first time they came in past 4.30. ETA ticked because I got tested trough work, (and she knew I was waiting) so she called me with the results, not because I did anything wrong.

Yay for negative results nam2013!! We are waiting in the waiting area at the ophthalmologist. There is a baby screaming and crying in the testing room. There is a little boy in the waiting room that is soooo sweet. He keeps saying “I need to give that baby a hug, she’s so sad, she just needs a hug.” Lol.

The squabbling b/n siblings has reached a fever pitch lately...B desperately needs to be back in school and I cannot wait. They need a break from each other.
We get his teacher assignment at 3 today; I noticed there are teacher bio's on our school's website with pics and 'about me' type things so we can go check things out there. We have a zoom orientation Friday morning.

Since school canceled, rec soccer has also decided to cancel. I feel so bad for T. His friends want to try out for a travel team but since he’s a November baby, they are all 2014 so he can’t play with them.

mwhip the drop off and pick up line was a shit show on our first day too. The main Hwy leading to the school was blocked/backed up. There is no way around either. But day 2 went sooo much better. I got an email at noon from the principal about the changes they're making for pick up today, so clearly they recognized the issue and hopefully it goes smoother. Our High School is like 1/2 mile from the elementary school. I can only imagine how much worse it would have been if the HS wasn't doing virtual.

Does S see a pediatric opthamologist? Do they do anything different than a regular eye exam like you and I get? I'm waiting on the referral for Evie's from Children's Mercy. They switched her anti inflammatory to something a little stronger so I picked that up today.

She is a little different because of her delays. So she can’t do the “typical” screenings. We’ve been going every 6 months since she was a baby because she has a small optic nerve. Also many of her issues are often linked to visual problems as well. Today they did 2 different things that she’s never done before. And they were scheduled “tests”. With a follow up with dr right after. One was called a “visual evoked” the other I can’t remember what it was called. But one was looking at a giant screen and they recorded her reactions to following pictures up, down, left, and right. The computer screen zoned in on her eyes to check speed of reactions and how well she tracked. She was well within the normal ranges there 🙌. Then the other test hooked 3 electrodes to her head on the “visual path” and recorded nerve reactions I think? This one looked good except for her left side. But upon further checking...he thinks the electrode wasn’t in the right spot. Because her brain isn’t laid out normally because of the hydrocephalus, polymicrogyra (many folds of the brain), and she is missing the corpus callosum...he said it would be hard to get the right placement on it to read right. But he was pleased enough that he moved our next follow up to 12 months out instead of 6!!

lfig that's so great she gets to go longer between visits! It's nice when those visits become fewer and farther in between. We will go to the opthamologist every 3 months for 4 years. I guess she will get used to it.

Hey. We went and got me a coffee and then went to a park this morning. Just hanging out at home for now. H has a haircut in 2 hours so I’m making her shower now so she’s nice and clean for her first day of school tomorrow. I don’t want to rewash her hair after the cut. I’m also going to paint her nails. She’s going to look so stylish tomorrow.

Hello from the pick up line! I brought my laptop and hotspotted my phone so I could keep working. The pick up line is already to the road, at least that I can see, and school isn't released for 14 more minutes. Apparently everyone was worried after the shit show that was drop off.
I was also not the first person in line, although I was the first person in the 1st and 2nd grade lane.

We have our virtual open house in a few minutes. Hopefully N will know a kid or two at least. I got her school set up in the living room and she’s excited about it.
I’ve driven by her school a couple times this week and noticed they are ripping up the lawn between the drop off parking lot and the building. School is supposed to be starting on Monday so it seems like a last minute project. I wasn’t sure if they were extending the parking lot or what, but today I noticed a truck unloading playground equipment so now I’m thinking they are adding a second playground to help spread the kids out during recess. Not a bad idea, but I just hope they can get it done by Monday.

I felt so accomplished this morning because I was able to find a matching Christmas stocking for L from Pottery Barn kids that has been discontinued. Last year, I ordered him a similar one from somewhere else but it bothered me that it wasn’t an exact match so I randomly searched today and found it on eBay, yay! Now I’ll just have to take it in to the PBK store to have it monogrammed. trtlcrzy, have you tried the cabin bar iced crafted press from caribou? I had it today... So yummy!

Way to go on the stocking slenle ! Something like that would make me very happy, too. We got B's teacher assignments and both seem great and very experienced, so I'm happy. One is a Gator, so B is already planning to sport his UF mask one day Re: car-line woes, have y'all seen this video? I've watched it a few times (having never actually done a car line myself) and it always cracks me up. I'm assuming ours will be bad, at least at drop-off with the temp checks; that's one reason we're opting for the bus, at least for the first week or so. I told B we'd see how it goes.
