They're expecting Laura to strengthen to a category 3 by the time it makes landfall tomorrow night. I saw that this morning and was like 😬. It’s a good thing Marco broke up before it made landfall so the coast didn’t get a lot of rain from that. I hope it’s not too bad for y’all though.

tgrimes stay safe and I hope the predictions are wrong! also, Evie plays Roblox, she picked it up quickly, I'm sure M will too! Evie is with SMIL today, I had planned on getting her supplies labeled, but since I got back from my run, it's been crazy. Our cleaning people are coming between 11 and 1, which sucks. that's lunch time and I don't want to be in their way. I should go make myself a sandwich now so I'm out of their way...

I’m here wfh w both kiddos today and it’s pretty miserable. It’s so hard to get things done and/or focus. I’m constantly yelling at them. I hate it.
Other than that, there is a uniform sale at B’s school this afternoon so I am going to head to that and see if I can get any deals. Then there is a book club meeting w some ladies in my neighborhood. I’m not expecting much since it’s meant to be socially distanced and BYOB/snacks. I’m prolly not bringing anything. It’s not like I’m going to drink an entire bottle of wine or finish off an entire plate of brownies on my own.

inthekitty so impressed! I’ve never pictured you as a person that can knit! Ds is learning to knit at school now . It's a zen thing. I like to make things that are practical. I still consider myself a beginner and make things like gloves, hats, and scarves. I started with one class and from there have gone the way of YouTube tutorials. You can learn everything from YouTube. One of my friends recommended knitting. In non COVID times I would not even consider it but I am now. I suck at sewing but I do make a good friendship bracelet so maybe there’s hope! To get started what would I need? Just needles and yarn?

I am meeting my friends for some outdoor dining “tonight”. We are actually going at five to avoid people.
Last night DH and I decided we likely need to cancel our Jamaica trip in January. We will wait a few weeks in case there is a miracle but right now the travel restrictions are pretty rough and i don’t think it will be worth the money. C is going to be so upset. He has his heart set on the water park there. We will go someday and will also try to hit a water park sooner if it’s safe.

I only have the little girl today but her anti-mallory streak is getting worse.... lots of kicking, hitting and pushing. I'm going to mention it to them at pick up. Like mallory is in another room and shes screaming "no no mal mal, get away from me" so Mallory hears her name and comes running and bam. Foot to the belly.....
I'm mentally exhausted.

Yes. The chunkier the yarn the quicker the project will go because you need fewer stitches. If you're using a chunky yarn, get fatter needles. I would start with a super easy project--make a dishcloth. Maddie is making one now with a medium sized yarn. Cast on 20 stitches then just do knit stitch for as many rows long as you want it to be. You'll also want to get little plastic needles (they look like bigger sewing needles) to weave in the ends of your project. Youtube "knitting casting on" for how to get started. Then for the following rows search for "knit stitch." At the end search "binding off." It sounds like a lot, but honestly it's not bad. You could call me/zoom if you need me to walk you through anything.

wedding I’m sorry you have to cancel the trip... most balls of yarn have a number on them (3-4-5-6 etc) the higher the number the thicker the tread and the corresponding needle you need. A ball of 4 yarn needs to be knit with a 4 needle. Says the girl who can’t knit to safe her life 😂.

Should I make a thread about boys underwear or maybe people can answer here. Does anyone else's DS wear boxer briefs? They were great until the last 8 months or so. I bought the next size up in the Hanes he had but he says they are too small. They look fine to me. I tried another brand and he said they felt funny in the front and he wouldnt wear them but would not expand on it because he "needs his privacy". So tell me what brand, material and size your DS is wearing.

wedding ds only wears boxer briefs, mainly because I always thought they look cute . Yes I have a lot of different brands... h&m, some Hanes, Dutch brands. He really doesn’t care about the size and is slim build so I can easily fit him in to a 3yo size. ETA he’s especially fond of the ones that have an actual opening at the front, so that he doesn’t have to take them of when peeing 😂.

wedding S still wears all the character underwear (briefs) from Target in a size 6. I'm not even sure what brand they are. He doesn't complain about it at all. For some reason I've never branched out from that, I guess since if it ain't broke...

I know they have different styles as well. B is currently in a size 8 and I have the 10's in the lineup.

Hey. As predicted, I was up a lot last night. I’m tired and a bit irritable today. We ran out to Starbucks because pumpkin is back! They are doing virtual open houses at H’s school today. All it was is a slideshow with some info about the teacher and classroom. There was a video H watched to show her where her classroom is. I hope you all stay safe and don’t lose power tgrimes

I had the hardest time checking in for the last couple of days. i’m guessing it’s because we’ve been outside a lot. I just read most of Monday and I still have the weekend thread . Just wanted you all to know I’m here, and not in the weeds!
