Finally Friday

Anybody else happy this week is almost over?

This week dragged and dragged on. Apparently due to last couple of weeks heat wave I’ve got atlete’s foot combined with heat related eczema on my foot, which is ironic since I’m the least athletic person you’ll ever meet. I got a cream from my gp and it should be gone within two weeks... but for now I can add it to the list of reasons I can’t sleep.

I made the stupid mistake of forgetting that I needed the cargo bike to pick up the kids from school and only realising this when I was at the school on my normal bike 🤦🏼‍♀️. I wrangled Dd in the front seat that she’s officially way to heavy for, but hey we made it home save and sound.

Morning and Happy Friday! I too, am so glad it's Friday.

Just working, which I have a huge stack to take care of, but limited motivation. Which isn't being helped by a certain 6 year old in the room with me, playing barbies and asking me questions every other minute. Evie asked if we could go to dinner tonight, so I'm not figuring out dinner, which is nice.

Evie requested 54th Street Bar & Grill, which is a chain, kind of like Applebees but better.  At least in our area.  They have a good variety of food, so if I choose to eat healthy, they have good options.  If I choose to not eat healthy, also good options!  They also have a really good cheese dip for an appetizer that we always get!

Kids are safely and camp/day care and I have 0 motivation to do a damn thing.

Did I tell you guys we joined a local pool? Well I realized my bathing suit game is super weak. So last night I ordered a bunch of new bathing suits on line and hopefully I don't hate them.

Just dropped C at school; Now in the Krispy Kreme drive-thru to get B a donut before heading out on a couple errands. I think we’re going to swing by Target, saw on FB they have Clorox wipes so I’m hoping to grab some extra to send to school.

I have a dermatologist appt late this afternoon and I’m going to convince DH we need pizza for dinner.

Work is going to be crazy today due to longstanding schedule issues my boss is too much of a wuss to address.

I'm watching the latest season of Shameless on Netflix. Debbie is the new Fiona doing shit she should be too smart to do.

I'm at work. Cadence was pissed when I told her she had to stay home. I let her come yesterday and let her put flags on documents I proofed and she wanted to do that again.

Oh I haven't worn a bikini in... quite some time.  I live in tankinis, and even rock the mom skirt sometimes.  But most are old, and I have fulctuated enough in sizing over the years that only 1 top really fits properly.  So hopefully this will help get me through the rest of the summer!

It's been fun - and 2 of our friends families (the group we met through DC so the kids are all around the same ages) joined.  so we've been a lot and the kids have so much fun together.

I am pretty caught up with work so I am just working on this city appeal for the nail salon, I've got an appeal date of Sept 9 with pretty strict deadlines for submissions.

MH is all about doing tasks right now, but my goodness please stop making me stop what I am doing to go back and forth if you should do this or that now, for the love of all that is holy, less talking more doing.

Hi!! Yesterday was crazy for being a day off. E’s appointment went well. C and L played games together while We were at her appointment. I spent 6 hours doing homework.

I’m at work today, e at daycare and L is at summer camp.

I just got an email from the school that with a proposed daily schedule that includes several short periods of online instruction a day with "independent work" in between. All I can say is I hope there are minimal actual assignments involved then because I can't be on them all day to assist with this kind of stuff and go back and forth with helping them get into multiple online meetings then with assignments.

I'm glad I bought them their own laptops. Their learning curve about how to use them for school instead of Roblox is going to be steep.

I wouldn’t have minded going in except for T. C is going to the sitter no matter what and my older 2 are independent but T will be in and out if meetings all day and since he can’t read or tell time, not sure how he would do that. DH will be home but is on the phone all day. I don’t see why the schools would want to waste money and supplies to have to disinfect buildings daily for just staff and I share my classroom with 2 other teachers. Apparently parents are complaining they don’t want teachers distracted at home by their own children so they should have to go in. I think what those parents don’t realize is many teachers are considering an allowed 12 week leave of absence if that happens. I’d rather my kid’s regular teachers being a bit distracted over a bunch of substitutes.

Hey. MIL took the big kids this morning so V and I went to the mall to pick up some clothes for H at old navy. I feel like their in store sales are never as good as the online sales. Last night I decided to sign H up for soccer. So that’s going to start really soon. Hopefully I don’t regret that decision. So now I need to go find some soccer cleats and shin guards.

Hi hi - I can't keep up here lately! Not much new here, my coworker came over and we ordered salads and sat out front. She's having her first baby, so I passed on a lot of baby gear 🙌. We head out to the beach for a week tomorrow, we haven't told the kids or packed a thing, nor have I done work today, so maybe a late night. Oh and took j to the dentist and he really is horrible, they couldn't get pictures and then he whined the whole cleaning 😑.

We also tried library curbside and got Peter and Ernesto comic books - I saw a rec that they are a little less rude than dogman, which are about to end up in the trash, I do not enjoy them at all.

Oh and got J's new Chromebook and he's so excited about it. All students are getting new ones thankfully, I'm glad we didn't buy one.

I had a decent day at work today. MH is doing ok. Recovery is going slow, but it’s to be expected. My ILs left and my dad is here until tomorrow. I will be spending my weekend keeping the boys occupied.

My mom has requested Cadence's return. Is it bad that I've sent her away so much? She's bored at the house with mh and has so much fun at Camp Grandma. Not to mention my mom's dogs are both in a rapid health decline and I think she wants Cadence there for comfort and a distraction.
So, I'm taking her back on the 29th for a week. School starts the 8th so it's really the last time she'll be able to go for a little while.

klong11 I think it’s great both that grandma wants her there &
that much and that she wants to go! I would do it in a heartbeat if I were in your situation!
I was so close to my grandparents growing up (they lived in our town for a while then when they moved to Florida, they used to spend the summers with us. I’m so happy I had all that time with them as a kid. And sad my kids don’t have that same relationship with either set of grandparents
