Happy Tuesday! Or something. 1. Well, as I'm typing, she's playing with our dog's big Jolly Ball and laughing at her strength when she throws it in the floor. Also, she's obsessed with the recliner we just brought up from the basement. DH is sad when she monopolizes it, but she's super proud. 2. Her independent play is amaze. It's really kicked up a notch since she decided she could walk. Also, I taught her to spin this week. Her version of it is walking in a circle. It's adorbs. 3. She will not stop sitting on couch/chair arms. I've quit asking her not to unless she lifts her legs up. Yesterday she fell off the arm of the recliner, against the wall and onto the floor. I hoped it might teach her, but... newp. She always looks at me when she does it with mischief in her eyes. Also, her poop has been very soft, mucousy, and voluminous the last few days. It hurts her. She's pulling frantically on her diaper until I can get it off. QOTW: She has a few of my favorites in her library. Her favorite seems to be Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. The colors and the rhythm keep her attention.

1. What hilarious thing(s) did your tot do this week? (Give us a laugh!) We have one of my old phones set up for her for music and videos. One day Blake and I were really busy so we turned it on and handed it to her, because watching it boot up was enough to keep her happy. But then it was on and she's just poking it and siding her finger all over it then all of a sudden music starts playing and the look on her face when she got it to work on her own was so precious! Apparently she found Pandora. Lol she was so excited. So just kept yelling at me and Blake and giggling. 2. What made you go aww? (Happy things here!) She got some new puppets recently and she's so into them. Yesterday I had one on each hand and for like ten minutes she was so happy making them hug each other, and then she would hug them, and then she would hug both of them, then talk for a bit, then back to hugging. It was super cute. 3. What made you want to crawl back into bed? (Challenges go here!) She's been wanting to spend so much time outside. I try to take her out as much as I can, but the heat makes my heart condition worse, so we're limited to morning/evening and less than 10 minute spurts in between. It causes so many tantrums. 4. Share a pic from the week, if you please!

1. She’s determined, that’s for sure. If I say “no thank you” in response to something (like shoving a snack in my face that she wants to share), she will continue to offer until I give in. It's funny to me, but we do need to work on accepting other people's no.. even if she is sharing, which is kind.
2. She’s a little duckling. It’s only somewhat annoying, but it is more adorable than anything right now. Like, if I get up to go to the bathroom, she will gather up whatever she’s playing with (usually her baby doll and baby doll’s bouncer) and follow me into the bathroom where she will immediately plop on the floor at my feet and resume playing. This tends to be more work for her in situations like that, but it is really cute that she just wants to be in my presence.
3. We’re at the end of a deployment. I’m exhausted, and things keep changing (on the mil side of things), so I’m frustrated, too. Obviously this only exacerbates any toddler be toddlerin’ situation, so that’s been a challenge.
QOTW: She’s not a fan of sitting through longer books, which most of my childhood faves are (Polar Express and Rainbow Fish come to mind). But I used to LOVE the Where’s Spot lift-the-flap books growing up, and she reads those daily.

1. What hilarious thing(s) did your tot do this week? He is in love with our dog Lucy. She was barking yesterday and MH scolded her. He gasped at my husband, put a hand on Lucy, and started angry crying at Joe. We were dying. He was sort of freaking out like "Don't you yell ay my dog!" 2. What made you go aww? He says "Hi, kitty" and "Hi, Lucy" which melts my heart. He also just met my BFF's newborn and got a broad smile on his face, and whispered "Hi, kitty!" Lol. 3. What made you want to crawl back into bed? He wants to be outside all. the. time. Which is fine, but he freaks out when we have to go inside for things like, you know, food.
QOTW: Have you read any of your favorite childhood stories to your LO(s)? Are they as great as you remember? Most of my favorites are just a bit too long for him. I was in love with Kevin Henkes and Chris Van Allsburg and Tomie DePaola books and they just aren't quite age appropriate yet.

mellyknu, Those pigtails!!! So sorry about the poop issues. That happens every darn time MB is teething. I feel awful. Hoping it eases up on your girl soon! LED, Solidarity on the non-outside tantrums. Love how excited she was over finding Pandora! ketchup, So sorry about all of the deployment stuff. You are seriously a rock star at holding down the fort solo. I hope the days pass quickly until he's home. (Also, hells yes to The Polar Express. Chris Van Allsburg is the best.)

1. He has decided that putting his hand in his diaper and holding it there is the funniest thing ever. I tell him we don't do that and he just runs off laughing.
2. He's become quite the cuddle bug lately and he's never been like that before.
3. Cuddle bug. Seriously, I can't do anything without him clinging to me.
QOTW - he doesn't sit still long enough.

Hi ladies! I'm actually on time for once. ketchup hell no to whatever is going on with your MIL. 1. She was playing with my sister around nap time and kept saying "night night." My sister told her she wasn't sure what she was saying and E yells "Aunt Sar I say night night!" Clear as day. I cracked up then put her down for a nap. 2. Her speech is seriously amazing to me. And she's started "reading" to herself, which I'm sure is just memorization but pretty amazing she'll say some of the right words on the page. ("Hop pop no stop!") 3. The toddler tantrums... we're trying to pick our battles but man she can bring the drama. Also on the petty side MH's family keeps telling me E looks like my MIL (who has done some truly crazy things to us) and it drives me nuts. I don't know, maybe she does, but that's not the association I want people to make. QOTW: she also isn't into the long favorite books (no long Dr Seuss, only board books) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

1. She popped me on the leg and said "bad girl" yesterday. I'm assuming because I lightly spanked the dog yesterday? It was funny but not good at the same time.
2. She keeps making me and DH kiss then signs for more. It's so sweet and funny.
3. Tantrums! Gah. It's so bad and I'm sure not getting better anytime soon.
QOTW: I read all my favorites and they are way dumber than I remember! 😂

If it was my actual MIL causing more shit, that would have been fifty paragraphs instead of two sentences. As for your H's fam saying E looks like your MIL.. NOPE. Also, FWIW, I don't see it, and I'm not just saying that because we're friends. And I feel like I'm a pretty non-biased and reliable source on that, considering that I've met her more than once. People will also find a dinosaur in the clouds if they want to and look hard enough, so..

1. What hilarious thing(s) did your tot do this week? (Give us a laugh!)We took him out canoeing last weekend, and he loved it. We told him he has to wear his hat in the boat (he's pale like his momma). Yesterday, I went to pick him up and he had his hat on (inside) at daycare. Apparently, he didn't want to take it off all day! I think I see another boating adventure in the near future. 2. What made you go aww? (Happy things here!)the hugs! 3. What made you want to crawl back into bed? (Challenges go here!)Oh the mood swings. Who knew oatmeal could be so upsetting (which he proceeded to eat eventually because, you know, he likes it). Also the "No! Mine!" whenever anyone (dogs included) approaches him when he's holding something he likes is getting old. Not sure exactly how to deal with it. 4. Share a pic from the week, if you please!I took him to his first ultimate frisbee game (I play). I think he liked it! QOTW: Have you read any of your favorite childhood stories to your LO(s)? Are they as great as you remember? He's not quite old enough for the ones I remember liking (from elementary school). But I do love some of the ones he has. He is really into the ladybug girl series which I also love!

1. We went to visit friends yesterday, who happen to have a cat. G was so excited he kept meowing and calling for the cat and then ever so gently petting him.
2. He's gotten to that mommy stage. So even when H tries to take him somewhere he usually calls out for me. I know this stage will pass so I soak it up while I can.
3. Hitting. Why whhhy did he start that? We don't hit in our house ever. But clearly he's moving past his tantrums and hitting when he's mad.
QOTW: every so often I'll read him a little bit of Winnie the Pooh, but that's about it.

Hi friends. A is doing superbly. He's having an explosion of development and truly is so much fun. We have been working with OT to get him to try solids more and it's going really well! In the last few days, he's eaten bananas, black beans, and avocado!
On the flip side, homeboy be dramatic. Par for the course, but let's just say I can't wait for words. 😊

1) Hilarious things: the mimicry is amazing. He can completely imitate my tone when I ask DH for something. It cracks us all up. 2) Aww: he is in a huge "I want mama" phase. I'm getting so many snuggles! 3) Challenge: the "I want mama" phase means he doesn't want anyone else. He now has separation anxiety and it is not fun. Ugh. QOTW: I read him Corduroy all the time. It was my favorite early picture book as a kid, and one of DS's teddy bears looks like Corduroy. I want to get a copy of Strega Nona. Who doesn't love a magic kettle of unending pasta?!
