lfig glad they could move her up. I hope it goes well tomorrow! lahdeedah Have you heard more from your H today? Does he seem to be feeling better? And why was I thinking your appendix was on your lower right side? I still have mine, I still remember when my mom got sick and hers almost ruptured when I was in elementary school. tgrimes is this the same lady with Covid from a few weeks ago? How awful. I'm assuming she wasn't allowed any visitors during this time either. That is so terrible for her and the family. cagoldi I can't believe the school district had the nerve to ask you to keep it confidential. If I was another parent who needed those services and found out, I would be irate. yummeecookee I'm glad your dog is feeling better and hopefully whatever it was has now passed through her system.

Welp, they moved Sierra’s surgery up to 7:30 am. We have to be there at 5:45. So we are going up tonight and getting a hotel room by the hospital. But at least I won’t have to deal with the wrath of a hungry kid! Thats soooo much better. I was hungry for her 😂

I am not keeping it confidential, mwhip. That is some unethical garbage and I already told a couple of his classmates’ parents. Some of these families have more than one SN child, and greater impact to the child’s functioning due to the nature of their delays. The hardship is probably much worse for them, but only X gets services because I am the squeaky wheel? That’s not right.

cagoldi I am annoyed for you and those other kids. If we don’t close completely, 6-12 grade will be doing a/b days with everyone virtual on Wednesday. Any kid with an IEP is eligible to attend both a and b day if the parents want them to. Parents can also decide if they want extra therapies such as speech to be done virtual on the all virtual day or if they want them done in person on the other days. It is far cheaper for the district to pay for the therapies than it is to pay out the lawsuits they are opening themselves up to in your district. lfig safe travels tonight and sending my best for tomorrow.

lahdeedah I’m sorry your H’s recovery is not as smooth as hoped for, I hope tonight and tmrw will be better and he can get home soon. Wow cagoldi that is some nerve, asking you to keep in-person therapy a secret. Super shady. Hope your pup is ok yummeecookee ; cheers for having your house back! Good luck to you and S lfig , please keep us posted. mwhip I was really curious to see how our in-person v virtual school #s broke out, too. Around here it's definitely more the 'vocal minority' who are keeping kids at home. In our county, 72% opted to return to brick and mortar school; the county north of us—more urban—was an even a higher percentage. That county also had to assign teachers to teach virtually bc they didn’t have enough applications/volunteers.

Also, hi!
C had preschool orientation this morning so we left B at my sister's and then hung out for a bit afterwards. My nephew and C are starting Wednesday morning (same school, different classes) so that will be cute.
We got bus info this afternoon and I'm trying to make a decision for B. I'm leaning toward letting him do the bus (his preference), or at least trying it the first week and seeing how it goes.
B had a golf lesson this afternoon and C starts ballet tomorrow. Starting to feel like I can see some light at the end of this never-ending-summer-tunnel.

flamingo im on a local FB group and I'd guess 50% of moms said they were doing homeschool/virtual learning. I was surprised it was that many as it seems a majority of people I know are both 2 income families. So I'm interested (and nosey) in how the numbers played out when it actually came down to it.

mwhip I just got to the hospital and he seems better. His dad was in here earlier making a big deal out of everything. His sister and I was just 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️. I get it’s not ideal to see your kid like this, but the surgeon knows what’s best and right now that’s his NG tube, so let it do it’s job and hopefully it will be out tomorrow. When I got home MIL was on the couch watching TV, where apparently she had been all day because the skillet from breakfast was still on the stove, the dishwasher needed to be emptied and dirty dishes put in, and M needed lunch. So instead of coming home to prep a little food and clean the floors, I had to do all of that and never got to my floors. I think sitting home all day due to the virus has made her not so helpful like she used to be. 🤷🏽♀️ I work tomorrow and Wednesday. My friend said I should take off, but I just can’t do that knowing we have a big ass medical bill headed our way. I’ll be able to check on him throughout the day since he is in my hospital.

yummeecookee I’m sorry about your pup. Hope it passes and he feels better soon. cagoldi My gosh at the school situation. How unfair they are treating those that need help the most. I’m sorry you have to pick up the pieces and the financial burden as well.

mwhip Yes, it’s the same person. A day after they put her in the coma they had to start her on dialysis. Then she developed the pneumonia. You’re correct that she wasn’t allowed any visitors.

cagoldi I’m just soooo mad at your behalf, the system sucks and I’m so sorry you have to put yourself in dept to get the best help your boys can get and need. Those boys (and P off course) are lucky to have you as a mom advocating for them.
