Everyone around us is going to virtual school so I’m feeling like our announcement will come soon. I’m so ready to go back, I no longer care how hot I will be. I’m thinking of how T was begging not to go to his Google meets because they were torture listening to little kids interrupt each other and now there will be so many more of them. I gave up on summer work for T from the school. He’s supposed to do math online but they reset everyone back to the beginning of kindergarten and C can do it the work and it’s a joke. I cannot forced him to do that, it’s like “click on the red square.” Too bad my kids think Jesus starts with a G or I might have to seriously consider Catholic School.

Similarly, I turned it into a race between the two kids—who can go potty first? Or if B wasn’t around, DH or I would race her. (Of course then a big fuss was made about how C is the fastest pottier, etc ). C is a cut-throat competitor so this really worked for her.

Box fort is done. Just put MJ down for a nap. I need to clean up from lunch and empty the dishwasher. And pick up the last of the plastic from the pool. A will back fill tomorrow evening and start digging post holes for the deck this weekend.

He usually will go when the timer goes off, so that's not really our issue.  I'm more trying to figure out how to get him to realize that he needs to go on his own. It's like he can't feel the urge or something?  

I know that constipation can cause kids not to be able to feel the urge. Maybe the miralax will help some.

Hey. I took the girls to pick up a drive up target order and then to the park this morning. Everyone is having quiet time now. H really wants to sleep in a tent so I told her she has to clean up the basement and then we can set it up down there so that’s the project for the afternoon.

My coworker's MIL passed this morning. She ended up in a coma with pneumonia and kidney failure. I feel terrible for their family.

jewels can you go with him to the potty a few times and have him stop peeing mid stream so he can start to identify that feeling of needing to go? I remember doing this with C once. It turned out more to be him delaying until it was impossible to hold, but at least I knew that he could tell the feeling.

My SIL and her fiancé are moving into their apt today, so out of my house (yippee! 🙃). My ILs came up to help them get all settled in, I’m not sure where my MIL and FIL plan on staying tho, with us or with the sister?

I had to take my dog to the vet ER yday. She was just acting super lethargic all day and then would whine if you picked her up. They did some xrays and she’s got something about the size of a Vienna sausage working it’s way thru her colon. So they gave her a bunch of fluids to stimulate a BM and discharged her. She did potty this morning but I didn’t see anything in it, so IDK? She seems to be acting herself again tho, so I guess all good?

We are 💯 distance learning, even for special education.

It’s utter bullshit and I am not participating in this nonsense for X.

I emailed the district and they said they will provide him with OT and ST, but only if I keep the agreement to do so confidential. They stated they will not do this for all the special needs students students, and will only be providing it for students who cannot benefit from ZOOM therapies. Big nope on that, too, not keeping it confidential, and I am pissed they asked.

Grrrrrrr.

So, Dude is attending a private daycare who hired a teacher to go through their work. They are still expected to be doing ZOOM for basically four hours straight. But, his best bud goes there and they got the same teacher so at least he will have a friend. Socialization is the only reason we’re electing to do it this way.

Between paying for him and X to attend private daycare, plus the additional copays we’ve had for X to replicate the therapies he had in school, we are running about $3,100 more/month than budgeted. Awesome.

Big Bear was so great. The kids met some horses, and this was strategic on my part because Dude has resisted extracurriculars (everything is closed here anyway), and now he can’t stop talking about them. I connected with a woman who operates a non-profit therapeutic riding center, and she is offering Dude a spot due to his diagnosis of anxiety. So, hoping to get him started with that on the next few weeks.

X can do it at some point, too, but they have to be at least five, so he’s going to have to wait until next August.

Welp, they moved Sierra’s surgery up to 7:30 am. We have to be there at 5:45. So we are going up tonight and getting a hotel room by the hospital. But at least I won’t have to deal with the wrath of a hungry kid!

It just makes me mad that they are having parents work so hard to get them the accommodations the district is legally required to provide.

And my credit card bill is soaring, but whatever, the world is falling apart and I have to get them the things they need.🤷‍♀️
