‘Tree-rific’ because the crew will be here at 9 to rip out all our palms, take down the giant one, and trim up the oaks. I guess I’m really an old now bc I am SUPER excited for this 😬
How is everyone? What’s on your agenda today?

I have no clue how long this will take so guess we’ll be hanging here for a big chunk of the day.
We had my sister/her fam and our cousin over for dinner last night. He is 21 and is in school at a local college and working. The kiddos love him and it was good to see him. He’s home alone this summer and I think has been getting a bit lonely; he was so appreciative of the invitation and meal. So I’m going to try and do that more often.

flamingo I bet the kids will enjoy watching the tree removal today! That's very sweet of you to include your cousin! I'm meeting my boss at the office today. So I'll actually do my makeup and put on jeans instead of leggings. Undecided if I will blow my hair dry or pull it up, as usual.

Just got my monthly allergy shots. We wait in our cars afterwards. I normally wait five minutes then leave. Today they gave me a timer and I have to wait the full 20 minutes. I'm a little annoyed. I've been doing this for 2 years now and never had a reaction, let me gooooo.

Calm day here. Pool should be going in tomorrow after a series of hick ups this week so I need to get the kids to clean up the yard. And I need to go to the grocery store.

WFH today. It's been crazy at work after a short lull in which I got caught up for the first time in 2 years. I asked my boss if there's any chance of hiring someone else since we've been consistently busy. I put the message on our team chat and one of my coworkers responded right away that a previous team member would love to come back. This woman was nuts--totally personality disordered, very flaky, and unreliable. She has a pattern of never staying anywhere for long and has zig-zagged across the country with all of her moves (and like 9 Rottweilers with her) even though she's pushing 70. She called in sick on a day she had several evaluations scheduled so she could go to a dog show. I'd rather have no help than have her. My boss said we don't have money in the budget to hire.

Good morning! I’m WFH as well. Yesterday was a busy day. I have a lot to do today but hopefully it will be manageable.

Morning. I have a funeral to go to today.
Trigger Warning................... .............................................
A friend was shot and killed in a road rage incident just outside his driveway. His 8 months pregnant wife was inside the house. It’s heartbreaking.

Morning. Seems like 10 months was the magic number L needed to get to I order to sleep through the night. He’s been pretty consistent all week and slept 7:30-7:30 last night 🙌
I think I slept well but I woke up with a headache so hoping the ibuprofen and coffee kick in soon. Nothing on the agenda today or for the whole weekend (for the first time since June!) so I’m excited to just lay low for a few days

Also, super busy here! Swim lessons for S this week. Tuesday she has her VNS surgery, Thursday is her infusion, and work has been crazy. Just trying to keep my head above water between her therapies, my work, and everything in between 🤪.

I had a nice dinner with my friends last night. Today we are supposed to go to lunch with DS’s best friend because my DS turns 13 tomorrow! I can’t believe I’ll have a teenager.
Had a work call this morning. Teachers now have to wear masks and shields all day. I was all in on going back but no AC and masks and shields makes me more afraid of dying of heat stroke than corona.

Gloomy wet day here. These are the days when I am glad I have no commute to the office! Dog has her lyme vax this afternoon so I’ll need to leave the house for that. Then I have a zoom HH with some ladies from my old job. So I’m looking forward to that.

Buy yourself this. We use them in our tractors on hot bailing days. They're a life saver. smile.amazon.com/dp/B086XFM7JQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_btf_t1_XqvnFbZQRG4BM

Morning all.
Woke up nice and early for a walk and my mom is coming to get the kids for the day in about an hour. I'll be WFH as per usual and I've got to get my formal appeal into the city for a 'nail salon' that has opened in the crescent...LOL no ma'am, nice try but I will ensure this gets shut down. MH has some projects and the mowing to do, should be a pretty productive day here.

I'm sure it's my laptop screen because it's so bright...those colors look kind of gray to me? We had our deck stained earlier this summer. I wanted dark, we ended up kind of middle/darkish, which I love and it looks great. Our neighbor was over when we picked the color out and she said it was a lot darker than she originally thought it would be, but it looks nice. The thing I did learn, that shit gets HOT in the sun. I can't walk on it at times and I feel bad when I have to let the dogs run across it to go outside. ETA: We also used an oil based stain because it lasts longer. I can't remember what stain we used previously that was water based, and it peeled in a year. I was pissed. The oil based stains should last 3-4 years, at least that's what the guy who applied it told us.
