Am I going to get out a box of crackers and tub of cream cheese or am I going to be reasonable and go to bed? It’s nearing decision time. Get those crackers and cream cheese.

We don’t have a lamp in our living room yet so I’m sitting in the dark with my snack, alone because MH can’t deal with this kind of coverage.

What type of crackers? I've never done cream cheese with crackers before. Except Graham crackers, which are more of a cookie.
#Killing time

Well at least it’s not a conservative win. I was very worried about that I thought it would be a conservative govt too. I guess I’m happier with Trudeau than O’Toole. 🤷🏻♀️

I’m surprised by any amount of indifference towards a con govt. in this thread. These conservatives voted against a ban on conversion therapy. They voted for restricting abortion access. JT isn’t my man but jeez it’s incomparable to a conservative PM to me.

Fuck the conservatives.
I wrote out a million other things but really, nothing about the conservatives lines up with my values or the things I care about. A Liberal govt is best case scenario in this timeline right now

I’m also heartened by the fact that Michelle Rempel-Garner also dropped to 56% of the vote. SO was researching today and found out that the conservatives have never gotten less than 60% of the vote in this riding and is generally at 70%. So I am very hopeful she will remain under 60%.

I fell asleep watching the news and woke up to..essentially the exact same govt as we had before. I'm so disappointed that the NDP didn't gain more seats.
The only good thing is that the conservatives lost two seats. But like, this election could have been an email indeed.

How many more seats do you think the NDP would’ve gained if Jagmeet wasn’t a turban wearing South Asian man? I’m asking sincerely. I don’t even live in a bubble, but I don’t get why more people don’t vote for them. Is it just young people not actually turning out to vote?
I wish he didn’t spend so much time bashing opponents, but I do generally like him.

I wish he didn’t spend so much time bashing opponents, but I do generally like him. Im sure racism is a huge factor even though there was a piece on the cbc a week or so ago that said according to one of the poles people found Jagmeet to be the most trustworthy and competent of the candidates so I’m not sure why the NDP don’t do better. There is the fear factor of splitting the vote and allowing a conservative win, people here have expressed that and said they should just vote liberal to stop it. Also the NDP platform has no real meat to it, they have good promises but no realistic plans on how to achieve them, I know that was what gave me the biggest pause in voting for them. Plus the bashing everyone else is for me a massive pet peeve Here’s the article www.cbc.ca/amp/1.6168515

I was wondering about how much the polls being so close may have hurt the NDPs in the end. Because it was so close to being a Conservative gov't, less people willing to take the risk of voting NDP and splitting the vote? I'm sure racism is a big part too, of course. I was looking at the %s this morning and NDP has almost 18% of the vote but less seats than the Bloc, who have only 8% of the vote.
