I’m digging Paul. I hope we get more green representation in parliament.

“We’re meeting and on track to meet all our climate change goals!” “What are you talking about, my friend that makes no sense at all!”

Well Merek was now my favourite part of this whole thing. “Oh shoot…” then collects himself and remembers his question! And it was a great one.

Ok maybe Paul can just take over hosting the debate because she’s doing it better

O M G Blanchet continuing to try and draw parallels between Quebec sovereignty and the genocide of Indigenous people is so fucked.

Ok I also had a moment of empathy for Trevor and his family trying to clean up their fireplace to prepare it for the National leaders debate. My heart goes out to them all for the fights that totally happened today in their house.

O’Tool’s childcare plan is so poor it’s laughable. $6000 as 50% of your annual childcare costs is so far beyond out of touch

I’m mad we still have first past the post.
I’d also be open to voting people off the island. O’Toole and Blanchet need to go.

I appreciate Paul’s ongoing calls for more bipartisanship in getting things done.

Jagmeet deflated towards the end for me - he seemed really taken down a peg by Trudeau calling out that the NDps haven’t put out a fully costed plan yet. His answer to the question about how he’d create a million jobs was not great.

While I hate to even give them a platform I have to question why the PPC isn’t there but the Green Party is when they are polling ahead of the greens. And why does the Bloc get a place when they only run in QC. Is it all based on who already has seats? My understanding was that your party only gets representation in the debates if it currently holds seats. I could be wrong on that, though.

PSA - don’t forget advanced polls open today!
I’m very angry that my polling centre is at my kids school even though the school Covid policy is only students and faculty allowed on campus. So a ton of mouth breathing randos will be filling their gym and making it even less safe for the kids there. I’m so mad about this election being called during a pandemic

I’ve been looking for this conversation over on general discussion, shows I should really branch out more lol. I really respect the opinions I see here and I was so happy to see I’m not the only one who feels just kinda meh about Trudeau. I too want to love Singh but I’m not quite there yet either. Off to see what Vote Compass tells me!

I voted early yesterday to avoid long queues but forgot about it until 7.30 along with everyone else apparently so i still ended up standing in line for 40 mins. Everyone with a name in the first half of the alphabet decided to vote at 7.30 last night because the M-Z booth was empty and people were walking right in for that one.
I voted NDP but had to have a really good think about it. Honestly if the NDP had a real shot of winning this election i couldn't have voted for them based on the platform they put forward, it was lacking in content in so many areas, a lot of good promises but no solid plans on how to get there. At this time i think it's fine because i feel like i'm making a point that i want better but if they ever get to a point that they are a real contender i'll need to see a much more in depth platform. Conversely my provincial NDP have plans on plans on plans and i'll be skipping to the polls to vote for them in 18 months time.

I voted yesterday and had to wait in line as well. Majority of the people in line were young which I hope is a good sign of turn-out in this election but could just be my neighbourhood / older people voting by mail or on the actual day. I voted NPD as well. I don't love their plan either but it was closest to my values and I am hoping they may have a chance to take the seat in my riding since the Liberal incumbent retired.
I just got home from NB and saw so many PPC signs up on lawns where I was, it was shocking to me. I saw one (1) NDP sign the whole time I was there.
Anyone know when we can expect results to actually come through? I assume later because of the mail-in numbers being higher than usual?

Similar to emma I think I will vote NDP because I’m quite confident the incumbent liberal will take it and I’m not worried about splitting the vote. But I would like to demonstrate that a “left” vote isn’t a given for the liberals and they need to do better.

I noticed a bunch of PPC signs pop up on the corner of one of the streets by DS aftercare. It's not outside anyones house though so i'm guessing / hoping its the party putting them up and not residents.

Someone put a flyer on our windshield at the grocery store depicting Trudeau as Hitler (but wearing a pink uniform with a rainbow swastika, wtf) and a whole lot of Covid conspiracy. So, that's happening in my area....

The PPC are unacceptable and if you vote for them you deserve simultaneous buttworms and hemorrhoids, but they can go ahead and split that conservative vote. Only enough to not get any seats though.
