We invited M’s BFF over finally. His grandma dropped him off for a few hours. They are both happily playing and M2 is just in the mix and it’s all going well. So glad they have a distraction so I can get my yard work done. About to make some guac and head outside.

I’m enjoying a free concert on my private beach with a nice big cocktail while my ungrateful kids stare at me and pretend their lives are the worst. Anyone know of sleep away camps that are open?

Due to the weather we decided to put off the lake until tomorrow. I went on a walk then we went out to lunch and ate at a park we haven't been to in a long time. Now we're cuddling and watching Care Bears.

Hey. I have tried to check in multiple times but keep getting distracted. I don’t know if I mentioned yesterday but my sister and her kids came down to visit last night. They’ll be here till tomorrow late morning. My dad and stepmom came over this afternoon for a few hours so it’s been a lot of family time. My dad is very pro Trump and that’s pretty much all he wants to talk about so I can only handle him in small doses. He did fix H’s bike so that the chain stops falling off so at least he did one good thing.

I was busy all day but it was mostly small stuff, laundry, etc...can't point to anything major I really accomplished but I'm exhausted all the same. For our movie night we watched ET; B, especially, loved it. We tried a new burger place tonight for take-out and both the burgers and beer-battered fries (yummmm) were a hit. It's nice to have a local, non-chain option. eta: I think you've more than earned the cocktail and beach concert lately kim22, tell the ungrateful kids they can find a new family  |

Busy day today! My baby turned 4 and I can’t believe it... he’s still my baby! We had a little socially distanced bbq with 4 other families and 2 minutes after the 1st family got here they got a text that a kid at their 3 y/o daughter’s DC tested positive. So as fast as they got here they turned and left to go get tested. I have everything crossed that they’re ok. The kid was in a different classroom and had been asymptomatic but it’s still scary
But on a happier note, B had a fabulous birthday! He was just so happy for every little thing. That kid has such a huge spirit.

We're watching Clue for the 87th time because the girls are obsessed (I wanted to watch E.T. too flamingo). Maddie asked me if Tim Curry is married and said she has a crush on him. Lolz. |

DH ran down to the hardware store, the kids are watching cartoons on the back patio, and I’m in the house with coffee and a leftover brownie. Heaven.
More house projects today, including testing more paint for B’s room 🤪, then we have a pool reservation for this afternoon.

I made a breakfast casserole this morning and now I’m cleaning and doing laundry. MH has several things on his to do list today but for some reason he decided to bust out a puzzle. Dude, stop creating distractions for yourself. Get your shit done so I don’t have to do it.

We do, but I think this was such a debacle for the power company they were not as organized as they needed to be and it still says evaluating outage, and a couple of times yesterday it said there are no outages in your area. So I’ll stick with the neighbors. I left my front porch light on so they can have a visual cue. |

jewels, what’s the turnover for testing over there? So it really seems to depend on where you go. Anywhere from same day to 3 weeks lol The place they went was 2-3 days. We are now waiting for a place that does rapid tests bc B woke up sneezing a ton and both MH and I have a tickle in our throats. We have to pay a bunch but it’s worth it to me. We have probably another hour or more to wait till we are seen. But we should get them today |

The heat wave got to us. We just ordered the kids a happy meal for the first time ever (they eat plenty of crap, don’t worry 😉, just normally made at home). I’m curious to see their reactions!

My other sister and her family came to visit this morning and both families left a little bit ago. I’m happy to have my space back, though it was nice to see them. I’m currently hanging with V on the couch with my iced latte. She should be asleep soon and I’m considering joining her. Either that or I want to get the cabinet that I’ve been putting off painted finally.

I’m pretty sure it’s allergies from the temp changes, and allergy meds have been helping the girls. |
