I talked to my inlaws last night. S1 has his first swimming lesson class and they decided to keep him on the level 2 class after assessing his skills. Awesome!
Not much planned today. Going to make a run to the store and maybe the splash pad this afternoon.

This morning E freaked out when H left. He was at the table having breakfast when h left. E said done and tried to climb down (strapped in). Freaked out when I didn't get him out right away. When he got out of his seat he ran to the door to the garage. He was crying for like 10 minutes. Unless I held him he was screaming. And I was cooking eggs. Hard to do one handed. I think he was upset he couldn't watch H drive away.

Pizzaslut - If you know the fever is from an EI and he breaks it today and doesn't need anything to help break it this evening, I'd take him to daycare tomorrow. Mother of the year right here. I only keep them out for a fever has been resolved for 24 hours is if it was due to something contagious.

ahhh I am so relieved. DH' boss put him on the survey crew to "punish him" for not knowing if/when he will quit. It's quite a demotion, but he is still getting paid the same. Only now he's cruising with a bunch of students and listening to Despocito all day. Lol this punishment has done a lot to help his anxiety out, since he is not near his bosses and their passive aggressiveness at all anymore. And has zero pressure on him now. I did tell him that when he quits, he should contact the union and just let them know how toxic it gets around there if someone calls a reference!!

amberlie I am just going to bring the convo to today, check your library for Hoopla as well as overdrive! There is a different selection on there. I have saved so much money getting audiobooks off of Hoopla (I used to do Audible for my commute).

Hooray! The roof will be a relatively cheap fix (less than 300 which is what we were hoping for). Thank goodness! Both guys who came said we probably still have another 2-5 years left before we need to worry about replacing, so now we can start putting money aside for that.
Both girls are down for a nap (well...DD2 is asleep and DD1 is playing), then we may head over to the splash pad this afternoon. It's so freaking humid here, yuck.

jess213, that's awesome that it is fixable and you have time to save for the full roof and know in advance!

avocadotoast, the best parts were sleeping through the night, drinking by the pool and the sushi we had at Ceasar's Palace! I was bummed because I must've gotten overheated mixed with dehydrated (ahem, drinks) by the pool on Sunday so I had to spend a couple hours indoors instead of by the pool. Overall, excellent trip though!!

I need to get my eyes tested. I had an eye examine when I left my last job due to benefits changing (we had okay coverage, but here the coverage is crap). I was given a prescription for distance and I just never actually wore them. But over the past couple of months I am noticing a big change with my eyes and have been wearing them more often. But it's so hard to get used to the arms on the glasses and eventually I get sore behind my ear. Getting old is for the birds...lol. I'm trying to wait for a good two for one sale somewhere, like my last couple of pairs. But I guess should find a place to actually get them tested first. Has anyone ordered from Zenni before? Someone at work told me about them, but no clue if they are any good or not?

My goal is actually read a book for pleasure when we go away in September. I will be back then to get recommendations for a good read then. I can't wait. I love to read but have totally stopped making the time for it.

Thanks guys for the advice and support. It means a lot. Sorry I'm not a more positive contributor these days. I'm hoping once E's sleep gets back on track I will be in a better place. Right now I put on a truck video in hopes he'll pass out on the couch again like he did yesterday. He is just refusing to sleep and THAT IS ALL I WANT IN THIS WORLD. OK, and a cheap Instant Pot.

easternshoregirl Sorry about the crappy sleep. That derails everything. Also, I hate when my H's attempts to help just end up creating more work. I'm glad plans changed for tonight. If all else fails, you can always make scrambled eggs for dinner.

I'm at a conference today so I can catch up here a little for the first time in what feels like weeks. I'm sitting in Panera eating lunch in peace and it's wonderful. I even got a free birthday pastry. I'm debating stopping by Smoothie King on my way back to the conference...

Rage. That is what is happening right now. I want to scream. I want to fucking yell. I faxed 41 pages to the insurance company to appeal for more OT including a letter that said "if this appeal is denied I want in writing what the specific exclusion is that my son has." I asked for it in writing. I asked that it contain the specific page from our policy. I asked that it be highlighted and annotated. And all we got was the same fucking thing as the last time. We sent these 41 pages at 1115am on Thursday and we received the denial on Friday at 3pm. They read through 41 pages and made a decision in 28 hours. Omg you guys. As soon as my letter comes (hey faxed a Response to OT) you do not want to be on the other end of the phone when I call.

And now I want to cry because the thing that has helped my son the most we can't do anymore unless we want to pay 700 a month and we just can't afford that.

Hi. I'm about to put H down for a nap & study. When DH gets home, I have to go back to the lab for more bloodwork.
DH has lots of PTO so he's taking off thursday for my birthday!

amberlie, yay! Are you guys doing anything fun? I'm not sure yet, maybe! We didn't realize he had so much PTO until yesterday so it's kind of a last-minute plan. I'm going to look around online today for something fun & air-conditioned lol. Maybe take the girls to the Perot museum or something like that!

jedi I'm sorry. That's so frustrating. Is there any chance the school can provide OT when he starts kindergarten in the fall?

Also, A's nap has been going on for 2.5 hours.... I appreciate the break, kid, but if you could maybe subtract an hour from the afternoon nap and add it on to the morning wake up.. I'd be the happiest..

jedi I'm sorry. That's so frustrating. Is there any chance the school can provide OT when he starts kindergarten in the fall? He'll get 15 min twice a week (I think that's what it is) but he really benefits from private OT
