mwhip my 2 oldest wear glasses and go to the eye doctor yearly. Their exams are the same as mine and dilating has been optional so I haven’t done it for them yet. We just see the doctor in Target for glasses exams though, not sure if E would need the higher level eye doctor (can’t remember which name is the more medical one).

It was very limited which drs from the office I go to, would see her. Both eye drs h and I see, don't take kids. I probably should have had her rheumatologist refer me to a child eye dr, but thought it would be easier through the same place we go, since we know she will need glasses eventually (we both wore them when we were young).

mwhip we just went to the eye doctor. Cadence's exam was the exact same as mine. So long as they know their letters and willingly voice that they should be fine. We had to dilate her eyes last year because she refused to cooperate. This time was better and didn't require dilation. The only test Cadence refused was the puff of air in the eye to test for glaucoma.

tgrimes I did my first day today of the workout. I didn’t go through all the moves beforehand and it’s clear I need to since some were new to me and she moved fast. It was a rough morning to “meet” her but I do appreciate the real ness.

I definitely watched al the videos and did the into etc, even though I had done it in a different program of hers. Text me if you don’t want to clog up the daily thread.

Or you skipped the bites and went right to day 1 of the intro?

OK, I...and the kids...survived the great styrofoam snowstorm of 2020. Poured myself a big glass of wine when clean-up was finally done! You deserve the wine after that mess!

Phew! Late weekend check in, well still weekend here. We had a really nice mix of family time, completing some tasks, did a ton of lego, played outside for 2 days on the huge bounce pool and had a safe bbq with a couple neighbours.
I also got all the gifts for four different neighbours with thank you cards and delivered them! Everyone was so surprised, it was perfect.
Tomorrow MH is taking all his kit back to work, praise be!, and working a half day then we have to meet at a store and order a range...hopefully we can decide on one.

I just looked back and yeah when I went to the program page I just did the daily 15 ignoring the slide on Get Started where it says I need to do the other stuff first. For the Intro and Build Basics are those do one a day type things? My phone is acting up and I can’t see how long those are.

I did 2 a day occasionally, depending on how much time I had. Definitely watch all of the videos before jumping into the daily 15. You’re crazy! The first day I did the daily I couldn’t do all of it. She goes into detail in all of her terms and analogies. Today’s daily was very fast paced. It’s not always that crazy.

Hey. It cooled way off this week and it’s a nice reprieve from the heat and humidity. This morning we were outside playing and the temp was 65! We are going to a friend’s after lunch to hang out and maybe walk to the park. kim22 I’ve heard of batch testing, but I believe they don’t report the positive until everyone has been retested. I personally keep track of the trends over the span of a week, and right now it’s increasing in my county and the adjacent one. It’s a good reminder to keep socially distancing and wearing masks. Re: reporting Covid deaths: from what I understand if you are positive for covid it is listed on the death certificate as a contributing factor. In the motorcycle accident I would think the cause of death would be bleeding out or whatever, but Covid and whatever other health issues the person has going on would also be listed. Didn’t they find that covid can be contagious postmortem too? That may be why it’s noted. I’m not sure. I look at hospitalizations mostly but do get alarmed at some spikes. We have really good contact tracing so the spikes have always corresponded with something. I’m not sure about postmortem, I don’t think I heard about that. I know that they are being extra cautious handling the remains though. Honestly the hospitalizations in my state have never gotten too bad.

For those whose kids have gone to the eye doctor, is it any different than when we go? Evie's eye pressures are the biggest concern, which they said had to be checked with a slit lamp, which is just the fancy term for the thing we all look through and read the lines, then they flip all the different things and ask if 1 or 2 looks better and you can't really see any difference. I'm just wondering if she will have to have her eyes dilated so I can warn her about that, and convince her there is nothing that hurts. We have to do this every 3-6 months, depending on blood work, so she will get used to them, but with it being the first visit, I know she's nervous. I’m trying to remember my girls’ visits from last fall. I don’t think they did the eye poof for the kids. I do believe they dilated both girls’ eyes. Their optometrist was super great, since she was pediatric specialist she really knew how to ease their minds and make it kind of fun.

I need to get on this program just to see if it’s something I can stick with and it makes a difference in how I feel daily. Starting to just feel so blah. I probably should eat healthier, too. This is one of the reasons I like this program so much. She talks about just showing up each day, even if you're not at your best. (a la me when I was hungover on Saturday.) There are times when she has to go grab her kid, or move the dog/cat out of her way in the middle of the exercise. She gives modifications for exercises to make them less intense for when you need something easier. The daily 15 workout, once you get through the intro, is only 15 minutes. She has a weekly stretching video that's only a few minutes long if you want to do it, and if you need something more you can access the archive videos. Yesterday I did my ab video and the daily with H crawling under my legs, sitting on top of me and attempting to do the workout with me while kicking me in the face. lol.

What did you end up getting for the neighbors? I bought for 4 sets of neighbours and got them each their favourite drink (case of beer, whisky etc) a small bouquet of flowers with a thank you card and a few rounds of golf each at their favourite courses. They were very surprised and thankful which is perfect cause I needed them to know how much I appreciate everything they did for me

vino we did the same for 3 families that helped out so much last year when MH was away for 3 months. It meant the world to me to have them and I can’t even imagine how helpful it was during the quarantine time. It’s amazing to have good people in your life.
