Is there a before/after of the ring? I don't think I remember the design/redesign, but I might once I see them.

Oh, I do remember this.
I wonder if, and please note that I am not commenting on her body, her ring had to be cut off during her pregnancy due to swelling and that's the reason for the new band?

I prefer Meghan's ring after her redesign. 🤷♀️

I used to be a jeweler and I have private thoughts about redesigning a ring after such a short period of time. Based on my own experiences.

Every time the proposer selected or designed an ER and the recipient wanted to change it or modify it shortly after, I always got the impression (and in one case was told outright) that the recipient was disappointed by the original. It always made me feel bad for the person who chose the ring, because it was like "I tried and came up short" and it was awkward. Harry seemed to put a lot of thought into the original ring and it was so sweet to see how much it meant to Meghan in their engagement interview. So to put the stones into a completely different setting a year and a half later just didn't make sense to me. *This did not apply to people who upgraded or redesigned after years. Sometimes that big yellow gold marquise setting from the eighties just needs to go, you know?

I knew someone who took her engagement ring and traded it in for a ring with a much bigger diamond...pretty much immediately after he proposed. She paid for it herself and it was so cringey to me. On one hand, you should have a ring you love, but I felt so bad for her fiancé. He bought a ring he could afford and I can’t imagine how he felt.

We had someone who wanted to do that and not tell her fiancé. I was like "here's the thing: I gave my client a detailed appraisal for his insurance. I will give you a new appraisal for a larger stone, with details, and a higher value. You will either need to give it to his insurance agent and explain yourself when the premium goes up, or don't have it covered for the new value. I will not lie to my client if he asks, nor will I lie to an insurance agent. So figure out what you want to do here." She was pissed but she left. The wedding didn't happen.

The band Harry chose looks like maybe it wasn’t comfortable to wear. She changed it to a wider, smooth band, right? I can get behind that.

I prefer Meghan's ring after her redesign. 🤷♀️ Me too but tbh they don’t seem THAT different. Like the band went from plain and dainty to micropavé and dainty. Either is lovely. The pavé works better with the set imo

Did they explicitly say Harry was against it?

I do appreciate how Eugenie posts a lot of pics without makeup on. It feels legit.

I feel like "redesign" is an exaggeration even if it's technically true. All she did was change the band. I was expecting to click the link and find a totally different ring lol Previous setting was a classic three stone in yellow gold. New setting is micropave in either white gold or platinum. It's actually very easy to repair a solid shank that's been cut off.

I liked the original just because it was so simply beautiful and classic, and I feel like we see so many pave bands and big bling on celebs that a classically gorgeous ring was lovely to me.

The story at the time of the engagement was how nice it was that Harry designed the ring for her. And then it was redesigned a year later? I'm sure she had to gush over it at the engagement, but if she felt it needed to be blingy-er, why not redesign for the wedding when there was going to be a ring added anyway? And she got the eternity band, so why the need to bling out the engagement ring too? It's not like she has a job that requires low-profile jewelry.
I know from experience that a simple gold band is relatively easy to fix if it has been damaged or cut off. Redesigning the band would not have been necessary if it had been cut off.

I’m sure I’m going to get yelled at for this, but are we really at a level of WK that we can’t say Meghan redesigned her ring?

Arguing about Meghan's engagement ring redesign is one of the things that got me banned from CB. 😂

I had to really look to even notice the differences in the redesign so I guess at least it’s subtle?
I have my great grandmas vintage engagement ring that I wear as a right hand ring. This week one of the super tiny band diamonds fell out and I have no idea where it went. 😢 I’m sure it will be less than like $200 to get a new diamond since it was so small but I’m still very upset since it was the original diamond.

Blind gossip really hates Meghan, as per this blind item. However, if any of it true, I’m not sure if I’m impressed or embarrassed by the hustle. blindgossip.com/three-moves/
