Far be it from me to compliment an Eagle, but that's a pretty good punt. Ahem, I showed this to H (he's a Giants fan). He says that's Randall Cunningham, they surprised the Giants with the punt (he was the QB, not the regular punter) and made it 95 yards (by the time it stopped bouncing), which is INSANE. Possibly the longest punt in NFL history. Usually I am awed H can drop sports knowledge like that without hesitation, but then I also know all 730+ words to Satisfied, so I guess we each have our strengths

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA the Yankees hadn't even invited Trump to throw out that pitch on 8/15, he just announced it on Twitter. And then took it back two days later.

Where I am I now see preschools who have pivoted and are offering $1000 in person spots for you to virtual learn in plus all the former teachers who are offering their services at $15 a kid per hour to form your own pod.  Our school PTA is working on a plan with local churches who are offering their space for parents who have to work, we can't get close to solving the problem of private tutoring unless we can find people to volunteer for free.  It really sucks some can pay their way out of this while others are scrambling. Well, and this is why I wanted to clarify that my opinion isn’t aimed at parents. I make no moral judgment on parents that need to use a pod to keep their job and a roof over their head. But I’m mad at a system that is so broken that the only answer is that we now have to pay thousands of dollars for someone to facilitate your child’s public school education. Don’t even get me started on Betsy DeVos. Where is ladybrienne to punt her into the sun for me? Yes, if this is going to be happening, it would be great if the schools could facilitate it. My DD’s school is very old and crowded (900 kids in k-5) and if they were to try and do in person and also keep to less than 10 kids at a time, they will only be able to accommodate 39% of the students at a time (which isn’t necessarily true for the other schools in our city). So hybrid learning may turn into a joke for us anyway- a non-option (which makes me wonder if not all schools can accommodate it but some can- would it vary by school in the same district!?) Though no official decision has been made. I am so stressed about school. I’m trying to tell myself that the heat is making us all crazy and when the weather is better and it’s more pleasant for us to be outside it will get better.

I really thought/hoped the school systems would spend the summer using some of that amazing ingenuity I know they have and coming up with innovative plans to safely bring kids who want/need it into physical schools. Schools are government. There are public libraries--maybe you temporarily close some county libraries and go to a curbside system but keep the building available to serve as a classroom or two. Maybe you partner with local businesses that have office space they aren't currently using. Maybe the YMCA can spare space. Our county government building has at least one auditorium they could use for a classroom. I know that won't help everyone but I'm a little surprised by not seeing more "outside the box" thinking to get the kids who most need it back to school. I fully admit there are surely obstacles to these ideas I don't know about or haven't considered. I'm just worried.

Someone in a news article I read asked if having kids in schools twice a week and then sending them elsewhere with who knows how big a germ circle the other three (out of necessity--that's in no way judgment) is truly safer for kids, staff and families than having kids in a school 5 days a week with a more controlled germ circle. It was a thought provoking question. Obviously, we can't appropriately social distance in schools with everyone there but the question did make me think. This is really what I'm thinking. Better to have as small of class sizes as possible and keep those kids together as much as possible, including after school care. sure this kid has a brother in that other class and they will intermix their germs. But intermixing with a whole lot of other people and kids at varying daycares, church care, grandma care, next door neighbor lady care/share. each kid times several piecemeal caregivers? the 20-30 kids in one class with 1 teacher as exposure to each other, now becomes 20-30 kids plus 1 teacher and 20-30 other caregivers and kids?

Wow these numbers are so high! So anywhere from 1/5 to 4/5 of the renter population in any given state. That's cool. No problems there. Definitely not going to negatively impact the economy the GOP so frequently states they are trying to protect...

But let's pay 70% unemployment even though some inner city folks are putting 50% of their take home pay to rent.

Def and lets make the unemployment offices come up with a whole new algorithm/maths to implement new goalposts and that definitely won't delay things. Especially seeing as how some people still haven't received any unemployment yet.
