Oh! And in the latest installment of As Flamingo’s Craptastic Property Manager Turns... You’ll be shocked to learn DH got the deposit back in today’s mail, less $550. For 1) fridge filter (which we have a receipt showing we replaced), 2) a dime-sized hole in a window screen which was present at move-in and 3) tree branches overhanging the roof of the backyard shed (not tenant responsibility to trim trees). Plus a 10% ‘admin fee’. None of this stuff was noted on the move out walk-thru and it’s obviously garbage. DH is *furious* and plans to file in small claims court. I was mentally preparing myself for these shenanigans but was hopeful they’d just float our money til the last possible day, then return it. But nope. So we will play hardball and I will make it my full-time job to take these losers down. I would be livid, too. And ha ha hell to an “admin fee”. They ducked and dodged you for 3 years and did less for the upkeep of the house than you.

I got the drawer chest I wanted for M2’s room and some wall art at Pier One. I was waiting for it to be 40 off and it was so I bit the bullet.
When I got home, I ate and started watching TV and 3 hours later woke up from a good nap. I’m glad for the rest, but I didn’t get anything done I was supposed to around the house. Oh well.
After dinner, I moved clothes over to the drawers and rearranged the room a bit. I have a lot of clothes to go through and donate. Before I had M2, I used to do M’s religiously, but now that I have 2 kids clothes to rotate and organize, I put it off until they are overwhelmingly everywhere in bags. 🤦🏽♀️

flamingo that’s ridiculous. I’m certain you left that house in better shape than you found it in. wedding I just wish I could get my oldest to be as happy about this house as the rest of us. The baby would live here forever, he cries when we leave and asks everyday for his “ocean home” when we are at the “house with sidewalks” (his names for the 2 houses). My parent’s had to put their dog down last month and they got a new one today. The kids are very excited to “hold the new puppy” when we get home but it’s not really a puppy, it’s like 1-2 years old and 40 pounds. It’s cute though.

We took the kids to the zoo this morning. I was pleasantly surprised how organized it was. H was talking about the dragon exhibit for weeks but as soon as we walked in, he freaked and was clinging on to me for dear life saying he wanted to go home. Lol. He did the same thing last year at the Dino exhibit.
It was hit as balls and humid as hell. Anyone over 10 has to wear a mask. Obviously, if you need water you have to remove it but everyone was really good about checking their surroundings before doing so....except the family right behind us. They apparently don’t understand what social distancing is and didn’t think the mask rule applied to them. I had to say something to them 4 times. Idiots!
Anyway, MH was in a foul mood so after H napped, I took the kids to swim at my in laws house. MH already had plans tonight with some friends so he was kid free from 2 on. I’m slightly jealous, even though I did it to myself.

Sorry about your cranky husband.

Hi! Went to visit my parents today with k. It was nice to see them. We got takeout and now a few more episodes into the Ozarks, which is getting better. We are refinancing again - so that is a fun ordeal, but hopefully worth the headache. And schools announced they are starting virtual and doing phased approach starting with k,6,9 and then 1/2 grades. And it will be 2 days per week. Or you can do all virtual. Sigh. Unless something major changes and we get this under control, we will most likely be doing virtual. Looking at desks and printers for our back to school shopping this year.

We spent the day at a skate park. It was Cs first time and it wasn’t busy at all so it was the perfect place to practice. In the few hours we were there he learned how to drop into a half pipe, which is pretty awesome. The half pipe wasn’t super high so it was a great starting off point. He also did some ramps and really worked hard on gaining speed. It was super hot so we all came home and showered. Now it’s just dinner and relaxing tonight. That’s awesome! Did he do it on a skateboard or skates? Skateboard

It’s almost 1am and dh and I are waiting the other out to go to bed because C had a bad dream and is in our bed. Neither of us want to coax him out but he also can’t stay there. I’m shocked dh hasn’t caved. He usually goes to bed at 10.

Morning! Slow start to the day, got some croissants with Ds and saw a rabbit, which he thought was amazing (city boy 😉). My dad is good with horses (his dad bred race horses) so we rented a covered wagon to take a ride on this afternoon, hopefully the kids will love it. Grilling tonight, not much else on the agenda today.

That’s awesome! Did he do it on a skateboard or skates? Skateboard Impressive. M asked for a skateboard a couple years ago and I thought he was too young at the time. Hearing C can handle it makes me think maybe M can, too. Maybe a gift idea for his birthday or Christmas.

Morning. I’m at work. Not too bad so far. Hopefully be out of here at 10am. I have to run to Target when I leave. M2 moved up into the PreK3 class last week and his teacher asked that he has his own color box with colors and pencils so they don’t have to share. He told me all about doing centers and other things. It was so cute, but made me sad that he is doing these things already.
So the carpet guy wants to come tomorrow and when I told MH Friday evening, he took that as an ok to sell our current bed. A couple hours later a told me someone was coming to pick it up Saturday morning. Dude, we still had one more night to sleep on it before we needed to even break it down. Then yesterday he asks how much he should sell the sofa for. I told him that our new one won’t be in until end of this month and I have a million and one things to do and think about before then, so it can wait. He has no chill.

Morning. We’re on the road already, we left almost an hour ahead of schedule by some miracle. It’s a 6 hour trip, so we’ll stop for lunch about halfway. L is about to fall asleep, hopefully that lasts a while.

Maybe a gift idea for his birthday or Christmas. L just got a skateboard for her 4th birthday! She's so cute on it. Definitely just goes slowly down the driveway and in the sidewalk though, no tricks! ETA: she's definitely my cautious one though. C hasn't shown any interest in it which surprised me.

The day we moved in, my H was agitating about selling our washer/dryer (house came with a newer set). Chilllllll. Also sounds like you are going to have a whole new house when all the Furniture, carpeting and kitchen work is done—Exciting!

Morning. We have a birthday party this afternoon for a friend’s kid. I’m not sure if V and I will go, depends on how hot it is since the party is outside.

They put the grapes at the bottom of the bag with a bug of crap on top of them so a bunch of the grapes split and the bottom of the bag was soggy. Come on now, grapes and bread are equal! Don't put them in the bottom!!

S has been having bloody noses all the time for the past 2 weeks or so. He gets them occasionally in the winter due to the dry air, but getting them so much now is confusing me. We have been at like 800% humidity. Anyway, he woke up about 5:30 with one and it took a while to get it under control. By the time it was done and cleaned up and back in bed it was 6 and he couldn't fall back asleep. I told him to get the tablet so I could sleep and then I fell back asleep till almost 8! And B was still asleep when I woke up. Needless to say S is a little tired and cranky today so that's fun. Also, I don't understand why he's getting so many bloody noses lately. Someone else ( guster I think for C?) mentioned it a few weeks ago. Is he still getting them? Anyone know why he would get them this time of year? He does not have any summer allergies so it's not that.

One was awful, the other two I was able to stop in five minutes or so. The doctor said it’s very normal unless you cannot stop the bleeding. I guess any kind of fall, picking their nose, sticking something up their nose can cause it. The second that Charlie had had a big clot in it and that scared me but again I was advised it was normal bc the once the original bleed starts, it’s a tougher spot to heal and fully “dry up” The doc did say if they kept persisting for 10-14 days, he would send us to an ENT to cauterize.

He has not had any large clots and nothing too bad (maybe 7-10 minutes was the longest one but most are over in a minute or 2). Some have literally just been like bloody snot if that makes sense. I guess if he keeps it up for another week or so I'll call but I honestly don't feel like it's anything that would need cauterizing.
