You know I'm getting used to this not sleeping stuff. Alex has a cold (drippy boogers) and it won't let him get any sleep after 3 am. This morning I sat him upright to see if the nose cleared up and he fell asleep like that. poor kiddo. I'm going to bust out the humidifier again. I was also sucking out the phlegm, ugh, how he hates that. The weekend was full of firsts though. He got on the infant swing at the park. He was rocking on his hands and knees. He's so much fun to watch these days.

We ended up at the ER last night. H swallowed a piece of steak wrong last night, and it got stuck. He could breathe and swallow but it wouldn't budge. He spent an hour or two trying to get it out. He would drink a sip or two of water to try to push it down, and within 30 seconds it would come back up. He finally tried going to sleep around 10. Around 12:30 he woke me up and said he was going to go get checked out. I stayed home with the baby, because he was sleeping and it was the motn. 3:30 H called and said they want him to go to another hospital in the nearest city (we live in the middle of nowhere) so they can give him a local and have a GI doc get it out. We had to call my parents and wake then up at 3:30 so they could come stay with DS (didn't want to wake him and drag him to a hospital in the middle of the night, and we didn't know how long it would take.) The er we were sent to called in a GI guy. It all went pretty quick, and they got it out.
So that was fun.

sterl724, jeez, that is scary. It's so weird that it was in there but not hurting him. That's one of my H's fears, food choking us in our sleep. He's always drink more water, don't go to bed right after eating. Glad YH was ok! I hope you all had nice naps today to make up for the lack of sleep.

Alex slept so well last night! We had the humidifier on with some vicks. He still fussed early morning around 5. I sucked out his phlegm and he dozed for another 1.5 hrs in my arms. But overall I got a good nights sleep too! Hopefully this cold improves soon or else I'll have to take him to the pedi to get checked out. No fever or anything too bad but his breathing sounded labored at one point yesterday evening.
Work calls.

Overall for June I lost 6 pounds. So far my first two July weigh ins have been + 0.4 and no change. I should be grateful that the gain wasn't higher and for staying the same bc I totally stopped tracking and may have binged on cookie dough.
A should be napping right now but instead she's laying there giggling and talking to the fish projected on the ceiling.

J had his hip ultrasound today and everything looked good. He was so cooperative, too, I was so proud.

I'm also coming out of the bushes to play. I've missed all these familiar names!

Hey all!
Going to the dentist in a little over an hour...C is staying with a (non-family) babysitter for the first time. Our next door neighbor's daughter is 13 and said she was interested. We're going to give it a trial run while I'm at the dentist, since it'll only be about 45 minutes to an hour, and the dentist is a block up the road from us. (I can literally see it from my house.) Plus her mom is home in the mornings. C just woke up from his fist nap a little early, so he might nap most the time she is here, which might be easiest. I'm hoping it goes well, because having a sitter close (our closest family is 40 minutes away) would be nice!

Why did I tell one of my co-workers that he could use my sweet cream coffee creamer a few days ago? I just made a cup of coffee and went to put creamer in it and it's gone! Now I'm sitting here drinking my sad non-sweetened coffee and feeling very annoyed. Don't mess with my 10am cup of happiness!

Sitter success! Was gone just under an hour, and C was good. She said he was easy, and is interested in being our go to sitter.

Sitter success! Was gone just under an hour, and Caleb was good. She said he was easy, and is interested in being our go to sitter. My nephew is taking babysitting classes this summer. He's only 12 but since my husband works so many hrs, I think I'm going to pay him to be a mother's helper. Cause this mother needs help.
