There is a district in Syracuse on there that is very over the top. I'm sure parents are calling and yelling at them I caught that too and my first thought was of the parent uproar that's probably happening in response.

A lot of those are by me and their plans are on the website. I feel like they missed a large step Yeah, there is a rather large one near me on it. Their plan is on their website, though. In fact, they got roasted two weeks ago for not offering a virtual only option. There’s a couple of others as well that have me scratching my head 🤔

I am laughing thinking about how mad people in that district could get over their coffee orders. I cannot even begin to imagine.

Cher , You can narc over here too. Our area is a mess of 300-700 people house parties, lines at bars, no masks, etc. The governor has called our area at a bunch recently. People JUST DON'T care here. It is so frustrating. Anyone else feel free to narc as well. Maybe they will listen to others.

Really? Upstate? I see info on all bridges and highways around me. Yep, driving into Albany from MA. No highway signs. Weird because where I am in Mass I see it on the highways. I didn't see it on the Mass Pike yesterday though. I'm assuming that's where you were?

Like I get it but the need school too Yeah, that county is an absolute mess right now. There’s one district that tried to pass a 19% tax hike, the university on the hill just had a dorm kick out students from the community college. Nursing home outbreak last month. The exec is so anti cuomo that isn’t even funny anymore. That county is a real cluster right now in general

So one of the schools I work in just informed us that there are no substitutes.
I mean we are the lowest paying sub district around. But.....are they going to close classes when a teacher is out even just for flu/stomach bug.
None of this makes sense.

I told DH I wish we could just pack up and move. I am sure things will be fine. And even though I can’t stand my district now, I realize the funding issue is huge. And something like this really exemplifies it. The bonus is I love DDs school which is one of the schools I work in. But when we pay subs I think 80 a day and neighboring districts pay 100-what do they think will happen.

None of this makes sense. in my H's district they combine classes or rotate specialists acting as classroom teacher. he is a specialist and "taught" 3rd grade one day last year. it went about as well as expected and surely was worthwhile for everyone involved....

Usually that is what we did pre-COVID. I taught a lot of kindergarten. 😂

Yes. Going into NYS or into MA? Are there quarantine requirements in MA? I wasn't driving at the time so I didn't notice signs in MA.

My nephew's school district in Buffalo requested a 4 week delay start, which seems a bit excessive.

piratecat only seven states are low risk and not included in the travel order. Also, I was wrong. It's a test 72 hrs before you here. www.mass.gov/info-details/covid-19-travel-orderI wasn't leaving the state on the Pike yesterday but I was going to Springfield which would eventually take me to Albany

I see now they news is saying a bunch of districts are disputing being on the list of ones that didn’t submit plans 🤷🏻♀️ I just went to my district’s page again and this time a popup came up from the superintendent that says “we submitted our plans on time and have receipt from NYSED. In addition, our plans have been posted on our website since July 31. ...... yadda yadda” People must be big mad.

Yep, driving into Albany from MA. No highway signs. That’s wild. There’s signs all over here saying there’s quarantine restrictions, call this number, blah blah blah. Guess I should take my quarantine narc skills upstate! Same here. Every single entrance to the island and the highway signs all say it.
