Morning! In the office again today. Hoping it's less annoying than yesterday.
Do your dentists recommend sealant for 6 year molars? Evie's did yesterday, plus another crown and help her wiggle the tooth that the last crown fell off of awhile back. It's over $600 out of pocket. I didn't schedule the appointment because I want to get her to the rheumatologist first for that plan. H says it's dumb, they didn't put sealants on our teeth growing up. I'm just stressed since I know I'm going to start getting major bills from her hospital stay soon and my flex spending is maxed out already.

Morning! MH went back to work today so it's business per usual over here. I'm sure it'll be another day in the pool. The pool was so overpriced but best $100 we have ever spent!

mwhip , that's so stressful waiting for those bills to come rolling in! I know what my max OOP is, I now approximately what I have left in Flex Spending, so I know what I will have to come up with. But it's just, adding more to it...I'm stressed.

mwhip, i think we get the sealant every time? I know they paint something on her teeth and say not to eat or drink anything for 30 minutes-1 hour. Maybe that's not sealant though...idk.

Cadence chose not to come to the office with me today. She said it was too boring. I agreed with her, but I had to come anyway.

I don’t think that’s the sealant, maybe fluoride? I could be wrong. mwhip I’m not sure if M’s dentist ever encouraged it, but I have heard of this before. I probably would if they offered. Kids these days eat way more sugar than we did growing up. It’s in everything. M is prone to cavities unfortunately and I try to limit sugary stuff, but the boy likes pretzels and other foods that aren’t great for teeth. I have shelled out more in his dental bills than any other medical stuff for him. 😒 Financial stress is the worst.

Hi.
Less busy day at work. I have some personal stuff (aka bills and appointments) to take care of, so that should fill in the time.

We had TBall practice last night. Neither MH or I are super athletic and I realized we have dropped the ball (pun intended) with the boys. With S out of school and sports and not seeing his friends, the majority of his exercise was riding his bike or just playing outside. It was painfully obvious at practice last night and he commented that he was not as good as the other kids.
So I told him we would start practicing every day. I took him to out to practice throwing and catching (kid can't catch to save his life) and it is about 4296% humidity today. We just got home and I had to completely change my clothes. I mostly just stood there throwing the ball, barely moving.

That is stressful mwhip, I always hate hearing about your (general you) hospital bills and dislike that you've got to 'chose' a dental based on a hospital bill coming in. Yikes!

mwhip I had sealants growing up and didn’t have a cavity until my 30’s when I admittedly wasn’t caring for my teeth well. My brother also had them and had never had a cavity. I think I got them around 8-10yrs old. Definitely not six but I also was late with getting my molars in. All that said I think they are worth it. I also think you can put it off a bit if you need to financially.

Morning. N had her first night of teeball last night. She nervous cried when we got there but then had fun. She’s the only girl on the team, but as she said- she’s the tallest and had the farthest hit! Thatta girl L slept great last night but of course I had a restless night. And H is giving us a run for our money lately. He had us in panic mode when we couldn’t find him for probably 10+ minutes. We searched everywhere inside and outside and the little shit was hiding in the builtins behind a toy box. (The doors were open so I didn’t even think to really look in there.) so he’s on thin ice today.

mwhip, pretty sure the girls don't have sealants. I would hold off for a bit due to financial concerns unless E is prone to cavities. peachsmama happy birthday to M! vino, the amount of fools in this country who drink the Kool-Aid that our neighbors to the north have such awful healthcare due to universal healthcare and we have it so much better is astounding. I see some of the dumbest comments such as Canadians have long wait-lists for care (as if we don't, I don't know many people who can access specialists in fewer than 2 weeks, that has to do with professionals available, not how your paying). I shake my head at this country on a daily basis because I don't see many people learning from any of this. They tried to villainize Obama because he tried to get people healthcare but are totes okay with Trump being BFFs with murderous dictators.

Not much going on here. Last night I put Clue on and was watching it while the girls played Roblox. I started falling asleep so I was about to turn it off when the girls said they wanted to keep watching it. They loved it.

inthekitty, did you see the twiiter thread about a healthcare executive (i think that was his position) and for many years it was his job to provide propaganda about the Canadian healthcare system to the Americans to 'show' that Universal was a complete failure? It was interesting.

It was interesting. I did. Of course smrt 'muricans will spin it. Doesn't surprise me at all. Doesn't take much to figure out a system here based on profits where benefits are tied to your job does not lead to better healthcare.

I'm just stressed since I know I'm going to start getting major bills from her hospital stay soon and my flex spending is maxed out already. I specifically asked M's dentist about this and he said they don't usually do it until their adult teeth come in because A) these molars fall out and B) insurance usually doesn't cover it on baby teeth. If E is prone to cavities, then I'd say to go ahead and pay for it. I had sealants once my adult molars came in and never had a cavity on any of them.
