We had a small cookout at our house yesterday and it went well. Except my brother and sil.. he was bailing hay so she went to get him later and they apparently fought because my brother showed up near tears. Its getting hard to be around them. She's so unhappy and he's trying so hard to make her happy that their 3 kids are flat out being ignored. And even when they're not ignoring them, they're not parenting them. At all. The baby, same age as MJ, fell off the picnic table twice and the golf cart once. The 5 year old fell off the golf cart. The 5 and 3 year old were full on fist fighting and they saw and did nothing to stop it. Then the 3 year old went after J who was walking away from them and punched him in the back. Made J cry, they made sure he was okay but never punished the 3 year old for doing it. A was LIVID and he doesnt get livid.. it was not good. There was 3 more incidents about the same.

A is helping unload hay wagons. The kids and I just finished Breakfast so we'll probably head to the barn soon. A and I are going shopping and to dinner for our anniversary later today.

peachsmama are they doing therapy or anything? Is it worth it for them to stay together if they are so miserable and it's obviously affecting the children negatively.

Morning! We have had a great long weekend. Friday we hung out in the yard and big blow up pool all day and then grilled. Yesterday we went to my parents for a BBQ which was very fun. The cousins are very cute and crazy together (ages 6, 4, 4, 2, 2, 2 and 1!) Today is probably another relaxing day outside with some house work thrown in.

Morning!
We grilled last night and then ended up staying close to home for fireworks, b/c our neighbors (people all over our subdivision) put on quite the display--we felt like wimps with our sparklers, lol. B proclaimed it "the best 4th of July ever" (high praise indeed).
DH just got back from picking up breakfast for us, and we have a couple errands to run this afternoon. The bedroom furniture I'd been eyeing for C *finally* went on sale so I'm going to bite the bullet and order that, too.

Morning. Dd woke up in the middle of the night because she had a bad dream & it took me forever to fall back asleep after I got her back in bed, so I’m tired.
I took Dd to the store with me me for the first time since mid March, she kept asking, I put her in the cart and let her scan the groceries, she had a blast.
Not much on the agenda today. Bit of cleaning and vacation prep. Two more day of work and then I’m off for almost for weeks, can’t wait!

peachsmama are they doing therapy or anything? Is it worth it for them to stay together if they are so miserable and it's obviously affecting the children negatively. They are in couples counseling and she's been seeing a therapist herself for PPD. I cant remember how long its been, maybe a month? Since everything cane out. Idk if its to soon to tell how it's going.

@peachesmama a baby fell off a golf cart and a picnic table twice! Is she ok? Was the golf cart moving? WTH! Golf cart was not moving. He was just climbing and face planted off it. He was fine after a few minutes but its just a train wreck to watch.. and the rest of us get tired of jumping in to parent. Especially A and I considering we have our own 3 to watch. When SILs mom is around they do literally nothing. So I think theyre just coming to expect that from my parents too. And my mom is not that way. If we're not around, yes. But if the parents are there she doesn't jump in to parent and correct unless absolutely necessary.

Morning! Fireworks were happening until 330 this morning. They are illegal in all forms in my city so I’m a little annoyed because I couldn’t get to sleep.
We have a virtual wedding this afternoon. So the kids and I will wear something nice today for that.

Morning! peachsmama That sounds miserable for everybody. I’m sorry the kids are suffering. I hope they get it together soon for their sake. Sounds like everyone else had a pretty good holiday.

We had a good day yesterday. FIL grilled and a few of some family stopped by to say hello. The boys played outside most of the day despite the heat. M wanted fireworks so we went to get those. There weren’t many good ones left, but we got enough to satisfy him.
Today we will go swimming at MH’s cousin’s house and that’s about it.

Cadence's back got crazy sunburned yesterday. I was pissed. Mh was outside with her and said he thought I had put sunscreen on her. I wasn't outside!! I slathered her in aquaphor last night and most of it is just a dark tan today. She says it doesn't bother her at all, so that's a relief.
Nothing on the agenda today. I guess laundry. Cadence wants to go get some fish for her new fish tank, so we may do that.

Morning! B's first night in the new bed started off well, even with the fireworks going off constantly, he fell asleep pretty easily. Then around 4AM I heard him crying for me. Went in and he had fallen out of bed (mind you, it's the toddler bed so it's not far from the ground) and he was very upset. He has a giant stuffed bear (like almost my size) so I put that by his bed so if he fell again he would land on that and for a minute that seemed to calm him but not for long. Took till 6 AM till he finally got back to sleep.
Needless to say, I am dragging today.

Morning. DH goes back to work tomorrow, so I’m taking advantage of him being home today. I dreaded that day. With Ds we had one day after the hospital stay before Dh had to go to work again. With dd 5 days after birth. So let him spoil you today! Since July 1st year there’s a new law enforced over here, giving fathers/partners 1 week with 100% pay & 5 weeks 70% with pay after birth. Dh is going to do this, so he’ll be home for 6/8 weeks depending on if Christmas break is included!

DH has been home 2 weeks so I got some help during the initial pp period. That is great. I wish the US lawmakers would get their heads out of their ass and make something like that a reality here.

Hi hi - yesterday was kind of blah here, mh was grouchy all day and wasn't happy with me at all. Today was better though, so hopefully we are back to normal. We went blueberry picking and it was a hit. N really liked it, but it was pretty hot in masks. Then we did grocery pickup and I washed the car.
Time for my weekly video chat with my mom and sister and then finishing up my class assignments.

I got a new top and 2 pair of shorts. The main store I wanted to go to for new bras was closed by the time we got there. We went to target after dinner to get MIL a candle (her favorite) for watching the kids for us so much lately. I found a bra there and ended up picking out a new comforter and pillows for our bed. So $178 later we left target 😄 went in for a $15 candle.
Home now. Boys are in bed and MJ is cutting her first tooth and mega cranky. Hoping the tylenol kicks in shortly and she conks out.

So my cousins virtual wedding was nice. The kids didn’t really care so they were able to play and make noise and it not impact the wedding so I didn’t have to worry about keeping them quiet.

We had a great week down the shore. I came home with the kids today, DH is staying until Tuesday night to work without interruptions. I forgot there was no food here so luckily I was able to get a grocery pick up time tonight because I really didn’t want to take the kids to the store yet. There were tons of people doing fireworks on the beach last night. It was fun until I had a small fire in my hair and T got ash or something in his eye and freaked out.
DD goes back to gymnastics tomorrow. I’m so excited for her but also a bit terrified.
The wedding we were supposed to be in in May was moved to August and now to next July. My friend and I spent a good amount of time going over the pros and cons and timing of trying to have a baby before the wedding vs being pregnant at the wedding and what months to start/stop/restart trying to make it all work (for her, the bride, not me). She was hoping to try this summer and she doesn’t want to delay too long since she’s older and wants a few kids.

All these poor brides...how crummy to have to postpone your wedding, or have something much smaller/less celebratory than anticipated.

All these poor brides...how crummy to have to postpone your wedding, or have something much smaller/less celebratory than anticipated. My friend just emailed about cancelling her October one. I'm so sad for her, it's not fair. She's the last of our group and has been at everyone else's. I hope we can do a celebration next year for her when it's safe to do so. I imagine they will do a small wedding with family this year since she's older and may want kids.
