I still haven't announced to friends/social media yet. Any ideas? Well H just posted the "junk" shot so I wouldn't recommend something like that lol. I wanted to do something cute but never got around to it so I just found a pic like this one and put something about DS getting a little brother. I did want to do the future big brother shirt pic but lazy, I guess.
Wow I misread this and thought you had a very inappropriate husband. Ultrasound junk shot...not adult man junk shot.

I'm headed back to the doctor tomorrow to see if I can get a prescription for heartburn mess. Oh, and to see why I have yet another yeast infection. I know...I'm so glamorous. AnnPerkins was it you who said you were just glowing and radiant pregnant lady these days? Yeah...I am the total opposite of that.

Question! I never used a white noise machine for DD because I just got into the habit of being quiet-ish while she slept. Do people think I should use one for #2? We'll be the only two at home during the day, but on weekends and any day when DD happens to be home from day care, I don't want to worry too much about her waking the baby up... thoughts? So my advice is don't be quiet - ever. That's what we did with DD and she sleeps through anything and she sleeps anywhere. Now there's a good chance that we just got lucky but we were never quiet. We didn't whisper in the hospital room when she slept, we let her nap in the PNP in the living room with multiple adults talking and with the tv on, we vacuumed, we sang, we did everything we would normally do with her sleeping right there - from day 1. We used a white noise machine at night with DD but it was more to calm her down / soothe her than to block out noise. I second not trying to stay quiet. DD napped in our dining room for her first 7 months before we moved and we never made a point to quiet down. Girl can sleep through most anything now and we've never used s noise machine.

I'm actually curled up on the couch willing this high and front and center baby to scoot down in an effort to prevent my internal organs from busting out Alien-style. And the driving for 11 hours today probably isn't helping my natural iridescence.

He would wake up to us walking up the stairs ffs! Some babies just like quiet I guess. Our sound machine has been a life saver. It's waves and it is so calming.

DS slept through tv, doorbells, and even our dog barking at the people who dared to walk by our house! Not being quiet then has helped us now - sleeping through thunderstorms and our dog barking (he doesn't really bark that often. Just when I want him not to bark)

I had a best friend who was just as no-nonsense as Jane. We were not very popular, as you can imagine. The last day of school, there was a kid who had his shirt pulled up around his head and his shorts hiked up, and all I could think of was Cornholio. I was trying so hard to keep a straight face during the national anthem (we sing outside every morning, so we all had to revel in this kid's glory the whole time) but I failed hard.

+1 for making noise around babies.
DS is a weird one though, for nap time he will wake up from any noise. But during the night, be and H can go and shower, talk outside his bedroom door, be noisy and he's fine.
I'm happy he is like that during the night so newborn cries won't wake him up. And DD won't have a chance to like the quiet as DS screams like a banshee. Soz kid

Speaking of being quiet for babies - when DD was about 6 or 7 months old, we were away for the weekend with H's parents. We had rented this "cabin" which was really just a mobile home. We were in the kitchen area and DD was sleeping in the adjacent living room area which was divided by a cheap plastic folding wall - it was so thin it was pretty much see-through and there was no sound protection whatsoever - basically DD was sleeping in the same room as us. Well we were in the kitchen playing games and being super loud and laughing and having a good time and DD was sleeping away when I realized that my phone needed to be charged so I went to grab my charger out of bag in the "living room" and when I opened up the wall, everyone got super quiet and was like "shhhhh". I just looked at them and burst out laughing.

I went to the dentist this morning and it was the worst so I am treating myself to Panera for lunch. No regrets.
Well, I'll probably have some regrets later, but it's worth it.

My perinatal office is really confusing me. I have two ultrasounds coming up in the next 4 weeks. Both are to check cervical length. I keep asking about follow up on the VSD, because the doctor said we needed to, and everyone keeps acting like it is secondary or doesn't matter. Ok then. Luckily my consultation in early August is with a doctor I have seen before and really like. The doctor that told us about the VSD didn't have a great bedside manor so it will be nice to talk to someone that I feel comfortable with. Hopefully we'll have a plan laid out soon.
In other news, it is shot in the ass day so I will treat myself to a delicious, carb-filled lunch after.

I've been having such a hard time getting here with all the website/Tapatalk changes. So far it works on my iPad so I'll be around. I have an OB appt today and I have to bring DD. I'm hoping they don't keep me waiting in the room too long because DD gets super bored and crazy. Tonight, I think I'm going to try a rubber mask by DR jart. Has anyone tried it?

I put together our new hammock this morning, and I'm pretty excited about it. It's super humid out there, so I won't spend much time in it today, but I can't wait for the next more comfortable day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

AnnPerkins, the nurse giving me my shot today started out our conversation with "Oh, I've never given one of these shots before." Really reassuring from someone who is about jab you with a needle full of basically tar. So, that being said it reminded me that I never asked how it was with your brother's gf giving you your shot? Hopefully she did ok!

We got there and I overheard her say how drunk she wanted to get that night, so I was like "Ok, but first..." It stung a bit more than usual, but overall better than me or DH doing it!

Hey, I finally have time to post/remembered those invites I mentioned last week.
Refresher: I made them for friends, if anyone wants the background images for their own shower invites I can send them to you. Adjustments can be made.

I still haven't announced to friends/social media yet. Any ideas? I haven't announced on social media yet either- friends know but only because the belly is obvious. I got a Big Brother est. 2017 shirt for DS that I'll put him in and post after Thursday. I saw a cute announcement where the oldest had a sign that said oldest, the youngest held a sign that said youngest but it was crossed out and then middle was written on it and the kid was frowning. I thought it was cute! That's what I did! (The sign!) it was cute. I posted it yesterday.

I actually thought my appointment was at 10am up until the office called to confirm with me this afternoon. I even had it in my calendar correctly, my brain just felt like 10 felt right for some reason. That would have been awful.

We finally got our long-haired, outdoor cat to the vet for his annual check up/haircut. They totally bathed him as well and he smells so nice lol. Poor guy had a couple decent size mats, but that's what happens when he doesn't let me brush him. He looks totally ridiculous with his lion cut but must feel so much better.
