I wish tapa would start working...I feel like it's been so quiet. Anywho - our Monday is already over, but it was a good start to the week. We found a recipe for home made playdoh for DS, and it turned out great. I guess cream of tartar is a key ingredient to keep the stuff from drying out? Anyways - I spent a good chunk of the day pretend eating playdoh pancakes, hot dogs, and bananas that DS made and kept offering me

Taitai care to share recipe? I need to find one. We spend way too much money on Play-Doh.

Taitai, I'm sure you've been asked this a thousand time, but where are you that your Monday is already over? Sounds like you had a nice day! When I was a kid I would secretly eat bites of the playdoh my mom made for us.

We're having an OK day. L has been sick since last Wednesday. I thought it was a reaction to his vaccines but we had him checked by a family friend who's an emergency doctor and he said it's telltale Roseola. L has been fussy and tired, but today is much better than yesterday.
It's also cooling off a bit here and there's going to be a thunderstorm this afternoon, so I'm happy with the change in weather!

Happy Monday! I have tons to get done for work. So far so good. We had a fun-filled weekend. I took both boys to to the park Saturday all by myself. Lasted a whole 2 hrs! Baby got in on the swing action. L got in a pool yesterday with his cousin. And then we hung out with my dad. He got a dog so L has been super happy to be over and tries to tell it what to do. Sit, drink, high 5. L has been so good at listening these days. knock on wood. Although he has had some crazy sulking moments. I thought perhaps early threenager. But now that I look back it's always been when he hasn't eaten in a while...hangry moments perhaps. Work calls. Grrr, yes Taitai, tapatalk needs to get it together.

I gave up on tapatalk for awhile but need to try it again now that I have a better phone that can actually function with apps on it. Right now I mostly post from my computer.
Homemade play dough science according to my mom: you need oil to make it softer and keep it from drying out and the cream of tartar to keep it from getting instantly gross and slimy. I've made it with salt, flour, and water and it's ok. It didn't dry out for me but after having it in a container undisturbed for a week, it got slimy and moldy. I used cream of tartar and it lasted a lot longer. I've never made a batch with oil so I have no personal anecdote about that. There was an amazon lightning deal before Christmas that was 36 containers of play dough for $11 so it will be awhile before I need to make my own again.

Hello! I don't know how SAHPs deal with the toddlering all day every day because I think six weeks of it is going to be more than enough for me. Only one more week until I go back to work.
We're trying to make the most of DH's last weekend before I go back. We've been to the bookstore and BRU and found what I wanted from both places: a collection of books of the If You Give a Mouse a Cookie type and a folding potty ring. We also discovered that DS won't go anywhere near a public toilet without an epic meltdown, so that's going to be interesting.

Currently sitting in a meeting which is basically filling in the rest of my department on stuff I look at every day. So I'm not paying much attention.

I had a shit Sunday. Lots of feelings of inadequacy, frustrations with H, coupled with extreme PMS and my period starting. So I made the most comforting meal I could think of and devoured and obscene amount of it. Literally cried off and on all morning.
Today is better. I think my uterus is trying to bleed out but I'm just home so whatever. Do your worst, ute. Otherwise, updating the orchestra handbook for the new school year and vacuuming after E gets up from her nap. Dream big.

Hiya!
I hope everyone had a great weekend! I've spent the majority of my day looking at the upcoming Prime Day deals on Amazon. I'm pretty sure that there's going to be a fondue set waiting for me on my front porch in a couple of days.

I was so bloated I wore my maternity undies (not really maternity just a couple sizes bigger). And dh made me almost cry twice for really dumb reasons. Like telling me how to park the car. I turned to ice cream for help. Hope your feeling better today. And I threw those undies out. Once your underwear is bigger than your shorts you gotta let them go. lol. DH was what the heck is coming out of there.

Only my period didn't start until I was at work today so I had all of yesterday feeling like an emotional pile of shit and not really knowing for sure what was going on. I ended up going to the store for pregnancy test this morning but it wasn't necessary.

I have these really boring and repetitive parts of my job that allow for some tv watching as long as it's something I don't have to really pay attention to. My current show is One Tree Hill. omg this is the best. I never watched it when it was on because I never really watched tv when I was in high school but the music is taking me right back to my junior year. I just head Dashboard Confessional and it got me right in my angsty teenaged heart.

Today was my first day working on a two week project for my school board, and H (who is on summer vacation) was home with the kids. And the toddler was toddlering extra hard today, so I offered to do bedtime. My day was great at work though!

mintyblueair We live in Southeast Asia, so we're 12 hours ahead of central time U.S. basically, when everyone here is getting up for the day, we're winding down/ getting ready to go to bed . Sorry to hear L has Roseola - DS had that last year and the high fever/rash freaked me out! He was totally fine after a week, but it was a pain for a while. fuzzylogic Sorry for the crappy Sunday and the ute problems today. I hope tomorrow is better! maplebaconbar Oh Dashboard Confessional...thanks for the trip down memory lane! lildiamondeyes Here is the recipe! It's just like playdoh - not slimy at all and it has been holding up really nice/not drying out. We just keep it in a plastic baggie when not using it. Materials 1 cup water 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 1/2 cup salt 1 tablespoon cream of tartar Food coloring Saucepan 1 cup flour Directions Combine water, oil, salt, cream of tartar, and food coloring in a saucepan and heat until warm. Remove from heat and add flour. Stir, then knead until smooth. The cream of tartar makes this dough last 6 months or longer, so resist the temptation to omit this ingredient if you don't have it on hand. Store this dough in an airtight container or a Ziploc freezer bag.

Long Monday here. Summer school is draining the life out of me, as are two year molars. My kid is really outdoing himself with the tantrums and meltdowns lately. And we're back to several wake ups a night and crying and refusing to lay down when he does.
He's really, really cute when he's not screaming or head butting me, though.

Also, I think this was the board where we all commiserated about getting super far behind on laundry, right? I had a toddler free morning on Saturday and folded laundry for nearly two hours and finally got caught up! My new plan is to do a small load every night or every other night, depending on how much we have. It's been working the past few days. I put the load through the washer and move it to the dryer before I go to bed. Then, I fold that laundry the next night when I repeat the cycle with a new load. The only wrench will be when H does a load of his stuff and interrupts my flow. Then it will all fall apart and I will suck at laundry again.

Taitai, yeah I was freaked out by the fever, too! It's his first time being sick. I was so glad that he was more like his normal self today. And wow, that's cool that you guys are in Southeast Asia! Hope you're having a nice Tuesday so far!

I have a heap of sheets that has been sitting on the floor for weeks. I hate folding sheets with a passion. I keep up as best I can with clothes though. I try to make myself fold laundry and stuff diapers while watching TV in the evening. I don't mind doing it if I'm doing something else at the same time, and my husband helps out too. I sometimes bring the laundry up to the living room floor and fold while my one year old pulls things out of the basket or unfolds my pile. It's fruitless to do it this way lol, but it entertains DS for a while and I usually end up with half of the things folded.

It's fruitless to do it this way lol, but it entertains DS for a while and I usually end up with half of the things folded. I was able to do this when he was younger, but now I can't get anything done while V is awake. He is either a human tornado who appears to be on a mission to kill himself or clingy and needs me to be attached at his hip. He also sucks at sleeping, so I usually only get an hour or so to myself at night, and I always put off laundry because I don't find it relaxing or decompressing. I used to save it all to the weekend, which worked fine pre-kid when there wasn't as much to wash, but now it's too much of a struggle to keep up. Making myself do this on my "me" time is actually much better for my mental health because I don't stare at mountains of laundry anymore. It's also less daunting because it's in manageable 5-10 minute chunks. I need to remember this next week when my laundry high wears off and I'm less inclined to follow through!
