Go on.... talk dirty to me. What’s on your list to be done? LOL. So far we're thinking priorities are: plantation shutters for front windows new front doors built-ins in the family room (replacing awkward drywall niches that are really too big and deep to do anything with) new sofas/recover chairs in family room (existing sofa will move to the living room) new foyer & dining room lighting Originally I was thinking an immediate kitchen facelift--paint cabinets, new counters & backsplash--but I think we're going to save that for next year. I can do several of the above projects for the cost of the kitchen, and I think they would have more impact. What we have is very neutral and in good condition, so I can live with it for a bit. Can I ask curtain advice?? I'm going to do some black out curtains on my front living room window. The sunrise in the morning bakes this room. How long should they be? Touching the floor? Hovering just above it? Pooling? The toys are temporary. ETA: sorry it's a dark picture, trying to put MJ down for a nap lol

Morning. As soon as I pour my coffee for the day, immediately, someone needs 56465481 things from me. I swear they're born with some sort of radar, years in you'd think it'd be outgrown by now but alas here I sit with lukewarm/cold-ish coffee. Never fails. Someday I'll get hot coffee (not reheated) again...

Morning. The kids were celebrating midsummer solstice at school today, they looked beyond adorable with their flower crowns. I felt really proud and thankful when I had them on the cargo bike. Normally we have a big school picknick and the older kids jump over fire (well hot coals basically) and it’s almost magical to see all those flowery kids running around, I’m a little sad we can’t do this this year.

peachsmama My drapery guy says drapes should "kiss the floor", so just barely touching. We reused drapes from our first FL house in our VA house that were much too long so I had them puddling, and while it looked nice it was a hassle--would not recommend with little kids.

peachsmama No to pooling drapes. Looks ok in show homes but real life with pets and kids it'll be a constant fight and they'll get dirty too quickly.

I hate lukewarm coffee. I like it 1/2 step below burning your mouth at all times.

How's the house revamp coming along klong11 ? I'm finding that when you take all of Cadence's toys out of all the various rooms, she has WAY more than I ever realized. Good thing she is still at Camp Grandma and she won't see what I'm getting rid of.
Other than that we've had to remove a door jamb completely in order to get mh's arcade racing game into the master bedroom, the hall bathroom is filled with paint crap that he has yet to put away and he keeps asking me where things go even though I've told him not to move any thing else until I get the toy situation under control.
But, at the end of the day, I get to go down the hall, to my own quiet space and lay down in bed and actually read without being bothered. It's AMAZING!

Sounds like you guys are making good progress. It's so crazy how much 'stuff' there is when it's all together in one place. I've done that a few times with various items and it's shocking and eye opening.

They have such an abundance of flowers, where we were literally in the side of a freeway ‘steeling’ wildflowers. City live is so romantic 😜.

Yes to all the damn toys. I put the majority of the toys in bins out in the garage ( that have yet to be gone through to donate) and we still have so much. And MIL bought M a big ass tent that can’t really be taken down for his birthday. I’m annoyed. She didn’t even ask. I don’t have room for another big toy in my house. I’m trying to get rid of all the space takers now so I can keep the majority of toys in the kids’ rooms.

Question. Any of the N13 kids have armpit hair? My mother informed me yesterday that my niece, who is 4 months older than M, has hair under her arms already. 😱 I can not at 6 year old armpit hair. I had to check M’s just to be sure I hadn’t missed anything and he is still bare. Thank the heavens because he already stinks within 10 minutes of being outside in this southern heat.

No to armpit hair. Is this normal at this age? I feel like body hair is a puberty thing? Although Evie does have hairy legs and I've already wondered at what age we start shaving them. I can't remember.

No armpit hair, but Cadence has very dark leg hair. She has already told me she wants to get rid of it. Ah, child, welcome to the world that is woman. I told her it just comes right back if you shave it, no point in starting so early.

I can't remember. Right? My older niece is in early puberty. A developmental doctor told them based on her bones she would start puberty early and her period cane at 10. I don’t think she got armpit hair early though. Their dad’s family has thyroid issues, so maybe it’s something to do with that? No clue.

I think I was allowed to start shaving my legs in about 6th grade mwhip , I may have been a bit behind the curve in that regard. My mom definitely erred on the more conservative side for things like that, make-up, etc. I remember I tried sneaking it in 5th grade; she didn't make a big fuss but I did get the 'once you start you can't stop' speech. Both my kids have blond leg-hair, it popped up in the preschool years for both. No underarm hair, though. Not ready for that! Also team Tons of Toys. We purged so much before the move but not having the playroom here, everything is in the kids' room. Previous owners had amazing closet organization systems put in so there is plenty of storage room, but I'll need to buy containers to keep stuff organized. It's definitely an incentive to purge again. I'm trying to pawn the Paw Patrol stuff on my nephew...I put that and C's Little people dollhouse in a tote in the garage. If she doesn't ask for it in a month, away they go.

Any time I try and go for a second cup of coffee it gets forgotten and ends up cold. So I bought some yummy creamer and turn it into an iced coffee. Usually about this time or after lunch. Haha. Now I’ve just gotten into the habit of making a second cup right after my first with the intention of letting it get cold for my afternoon treat.

lahdeedah no armpit hair but my friends daughter started getting it around 7. She’s almost 11 and no other signs of puberty. mwhip I started shaving in the 7th grade when I heard girls in the locker room talking about it and another girl who didn’t shave. My hair was blonde and hardly there. RE toys- I’m taking advantage of this wfh while C is at camp and plan to weed down the toys. The only problem is places aren’t taking donations right now. So until they do I’m just going through and throwing away the junk. My plan is to go slow so he doesn’t notice. He used to be great about purging but now everything “is soo special” 🙃 Speaking of C when I got up today the jar of Nutella was out and empty with a spoon in it and the salt was out by where he was sitting. He basically ate Nutella and salt for breakfast🤦🏻♀️

Jealous of the toy purging. I'm not purging much because I'm saving it for MJ. Hate to get rid of things and then re-buy. I do pqck things up and put in the basement though.
