cythe , we never needed a bottle warmer. DH fed DS bottles of breast milk once a day starting around 8-9 weeks to get him ready for daycare. Daycare gave him 3 bottles/day and didn't use a bottle warmer either. We just filled a large cup with warm water and put the bottle in the cup and let the milk warm up.

My two cents - A bottle warmer was not necessary for us. I was only able to exclusively pump for 1 month and DD always drank milk straight out of the fridge. I know that's probably a rare scenario, and I'll probably end up needing a warmer for this baby just for telling that story. But it's on my "wait and see if I really need it" list. That's where I'm at too. I don't want to buy a ton of stuff I don't need - but what if I need all the stuff I don't need?! You are me when I was pregnant with DD. If you do need these things, you have two options: 1) Send H to the store to throw all the money at them to get whatever you need (have done) 2) Use Prime to have all the things delivered to your doorstep (have also done)

I keep seeing more carriers on the deals list and I'm getting so confused about them all. :/ I just saw that there are a few baby bjorns too. So many options and I'm sorry I have no practical advice to pass on. If you have a few minutes today, Target has a lot of these on display you can go and touch and maybe try on? Might be worth it to see them physically.

CoachTsWife, I've only used a Tula, not a Lillebaby. The main difference between the two you linked is that the Lillebaby allows for forward-facing front carry, which you can't do in a Tula. Otherwise I imagine the only other thing would be potential slight fit differences which you won't really be able to compare unless you try them both on. The Ergobaby carrier, if that ends up in Prime Day, will also be very similar to these two options - and depending on the style of Ergo it may or may not allow for forward facing.

cythe - the Cuddlebug looks like it would compare more to a Moby stretchy wrap. Super long stretchy piece of fabric that you will need to wrap around you and baby just like you would a woven wrap. K'Tan is also stretchy material, but less thought/effort required to wear since it is loops you place baby in and not one long piece of fabric to wrap. The way you carry and the overall weight distribution won't be much different between the two (work well for small babies but not once they get heavier) - so generally same purpose but a bit easier to wear the K'Tan.

Someone tell my about the Lillebaby deals. I have a ring sling and another wrap I bought second hand for little to nothing, but I never really got the hang of them when DS was a baby and I didn't find myself needing to wear him a lot. I kind of want a more structured carrier since I never felt confident in the wrap and sling. Are these good carriers? Are the prime day prices the best I'll likely find? I think I had another carrier on my baby registry, probably a recommendation from the baby wearing thread. Ergo, maybe? I have a lillebaby all seasons and I really liked it. I wish I had used it more with DS. The option with the baby facing out is a godsend - DS loved to see what's going on and interacting with people. The mesh helps but it still got hot. It could be the fact that me and DS give off a lot of body heat lol. If we were out by the time I took him off, my tummy was all sweaty.

We have a Lillebaby All Seasons and will be using it again for 2.0. I'm hoping to get a K'tan for the newborn stage.
I need to stalk the deals today and set up my alerts.

I'm actually kind of depressed about prime day's timing this year. I want to be excited and watching deals, but my dad is getting married this weekend and we are flying out Thursday for the wedding, and i don't know my neighbors well enough yet to have someone grab my packages. I might watch for some swaddleme deals because i loved those with DS, and they will fit in my mailbox. Thanks for the reminder that I need swaddle blankets! Are you willing to pay a little extra for 1-day shipping to receive them Wednesday? I know it may defeat the purpose of saving money, but if the deal is good enough, it's something to consider. Or, have them shipped to someone else near your home (if you have that option). trinitrotoluene, this above. or possible to ship to your Hs office? I used to get stuff shipped to my office in NYC - not big things cos can't carry home either and cos my apt. didn't have anywhere parcels could be delivered and would get stolen. The office mail person hated me for that but w/e. SaveSave

CoachTsWife, or anyone else for that matter If you're leaning on a lillebaby...checkout lillebaby directly. www.lillebaby.comThey have a last chance sale going on now and if you're not fussed about colors/patters. Some carriers may have better prices than amazon. The other option is to check to see if free returns are available ( usually baby items for prime members are ) nab several different ones and do a comparison when they all arrive at your doorstep. We did this with a few strollers and car seats because we live in podunkville and our options are very limited for car seats and strollers even at the BRUS which is like 45 mins away. Don't think anyone here is looking for a Lillebaby toddler carrier but if you are, the carrier just max tighten around my waist and hips and shoulder straps. I am petite and around size 4. I used to be smaller before DS ( size 2 and even less in my younger days! ) and if that were the case it would have been too loose all around and not a good fit for smaller frame ladies.

cythe, same here with no bottle warmer, not a necessary item IMO. DS formula was just mixed in room temp water and we just dunked the bottle of my pumped milk in a cup of hot water for a few mins to take away the biting chill - swirled it around a bit and it was good to go. My theory is that if the babe is used to that it will make life easier for both when you're out and about and traveling, they won't be so fussy about it.

From my understanding, the Ktan comes in different sizes and don't last as long because it's not adjustable as baby grows and if you're getting it sized for yourself someone else not the the same size as you can't use it. I know too many options! lol! I remember going through this the last time. I ended up with a Boba and not Ktan because of the adjustability. SaveSave

That's where I'm at too. I don't want to buy a ton of stuff I don't need - but what if I need all the stuff I don't need?! I remember with DS, after about a month, I decided I needed something else other than his swing to put him in and also portable so I got him a bouncer which we used a lot off. I think sometimes it's prob good to just get the essentials first and determine later if you absolutely need it?? I don't know it is a tough choice. SaveSave

duskymonkey, very true! I forgot that the K'Tan was sized (I have one but only used it a few times). If you have a spouse or caregiver that will wrap that is a different size than you, definitely a point worth considering. I don't necessarily think it will last too much longer than the K'Tan as far as baby's age because the stretchy nature of the wrap won't be comfortable for long-term wear of heavier babies. Once they are bigger, a structured carrier or woven wrap will support weight better than a stretchy.

I agree, SSC will last so much longer, however, I believe the weight limit of Ktan is less than than wraps though but to your point, it will get to the point where baby wouldnt be comfortable to be carried in the stretch wraps anyways. Ahhh! now I remember how my head hurt back then lol! I was lucky and glad that choices were made for me since I was given most of my SSC. hah! Also really so much more options with SSC now - even a mere 3 yrs ago! insanity SaveSave

duskymonkey , looks like the advertised weight limits for both the K'Tan and the Moby are 8-35 lbs, though neither of which will comfortably get you close to 35 lbs of support. With a woven wrap or ring sling you could start smaller than 8 lbs. Looks like structured carriers like the Tula and Lillebaby can go down to 7 lbs min weight (with infant insert where one is needed) but they will go up to 45 lbs in a standard size and 60 lbs in a toddler size. ETA I looked up the Boba and it is rated for 7lbs minimum, but also says that you could do smaller with proper instruction. I'd agree that a stretchy wrap is likely better than a K'Tan for preemie wearing due to the ability to tighten.

arimaythea, can we make you our official O17 baby wearing guru I think I ended up with the Boba because of the adjustability and could wear DS as a NB. He's a wee little one and was barely 7 lbs!

My LO was 7lb 12oz at birth but got down into the 6lb range due to tongue tie causing excessive initial weight loss. I didn't get brave enough to try babywearing for the first time until I was back closer to 8lbs and started with the K'Tan and a cotton woven wrap.

I got a noise machine - not super exciting but it was on my list for baby2. H and I have one... DD has one... so I might as well train the baby to have one.
