It's my Friday!
How was your weekend?
We are awaiting news on C's new (2nd) cousin. MHs cousin was induced at 730 last night. The family is very close, so hopefully we all remain that way and they can grow up as cousins because she likely won't have any 1st cousins.

Ooooo report back on the name pibblemom! I love hearing baby names. I've gone off the deep end. Starting today dd is going cold turkey on the pacifier. She just got back to her post swaddle normal sleep after a week of hell, two wake ups at 12 and 4. But she's been going down hard since she dropped the swaddle. Last night after going in five times in the first hour, I realized that it seems to be because she's dropping the pacifier as she drifts off and then freaks out. So much do not want. I'm out of my element as ds selfweaned at four months when he got his first tooth. I'm working on self care so last night I soaked my feet and did a mini pedicure (no polish). They feel so good this morning after a soaking, sanding, and coconut oiling. I might aim to do this twice a week.

I started off the day by spilling 3oz of bm while pumping. Soaked everything. I guess the silver lining is that I'm working from home and not in the office...
The day can only go up from here, right?

Lakes, I pop in Bs paci for a nap and he pretty much instantly falls asleep. We switched to the mam brand at about 3 months because he was having trouble sleeping at daycare. He would always spit out the soothie kind and it seemed like the mam stayed in better. I actually regret making the change now because I feel like we should have just kicked it then and there. DD gave hers up at 2 months, so this is new to me. I feel like we're going down a bad path... I have this vague inclination that when he gets a little older maybe we'll do cold turkey with a little sleep training, but really it's just me procrastinating if I'm honest.

Lakes and ellabee we too are considering the pacifier. Dd had also dropped hers by now in favor of her thumb. As soon as I drop the bottom half swaddle the pacifier is next to go. I'm scared though, that thing makes life so much easier.

ellabee and meeggaannw guess we're going to have to start a MOTN thread again huh? 😠I'm up 2x/night again for the last few weeks. I wouldn't call myself awake though, so don't know if I'd be able to function in a MOTN thread. I literally put her on the boob, let her do her thing and fall asleep til I wake back up and realize she's back asleep too, put her back and do it again around 6am. I miss my sttn baby 😠Lakes, they're naming baby boy Dal.las. I don't love the name, but I don't think I have feels either way really. I'm just excited to meet him

Also, we may have an eat to sleep association, but I'm picking my battles over here. I don't mind nursing to sleep (and even like "our" time), and she naps ok for grandmas so I'm in no real hurry to break it.

Hey everyone sorry I have been MIA work has been kicking my butt. Good news is I am off tomorrow!!!🤣
Q uses a mam paci he has it fall out at night and doesn't wake up from it so it is sticking around for now. I am more afraid of trying to stop a thumb sucking habit later than a paci, so for now it stays.
He was waking up 4 times a night all of a sudden to feed so my pediatrician recommend having H soothe instead of me and after two awful nights he is back to his 8 hour stretch one feed and then another 3 hours I am SO happy maybe y'all could try that?

pibblemom I don't turn on any lights and barely open my eyes in the motn. Also, one of my college bff's husband has that name! It totally fits him. Hopefully you'll be able to meet the new baby soon!

W uses his paci from time to time but usually pulls it out and opts for his thumb. I keep worrying about an eat to sleep association because DS1 had it BAD but W pretty much follows EASY so thank God.

My mom is a saint. I told her how tired I was (close to newborn tired), and she says "well, you're not going to the gym are you?" "No way, I need a nap, so I'll still need you at 3" "so why don't I go to your house, and instead of coming home and pretending to nap, you go to my house and take a nap in peace and quiet"
Omg mom. You're my hero.

Our pedi recommended that too. It's been a little over a month since I've fed him in the motn - so that's going great. He'll occasionally sttn, but it seems like he needs the paci to get back into his sleep cycle if he wakes and can't put himself back to sleep (which he does well most of the time). Also, usually after 5ish he needs a paci popped in because he's not quite tired enough to stay asleep since he gets up at 6-6:30. He doesn't really have an issue with it falling out. I'd say about 10 mins after popping it in, he gets into a deeper sleep and spits it out himself. I'm 50/50 on whether it's a big enough problem to deal with it now. I'm leaning towards no....

Ya my tapatalk is back! E stopped using the pacifier about 2 months ago. She instead goes straight for the thumb. Easier to find and doesn't fall out of the crib. I was a thumb sucker too. E loves her exersaucer so much too ambiguousmango Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Popping in to say hi from the beach! All 4 of us are sharing a room so neither kid is sleeping enough but it's going better than I expected. And there's a lot of beer and good food and DS is in heaven with his cousins.
I nursed M in a Mamava pod for the first time yesterday at a minor league baseball game. It was so convenient and nice to have a quiet private spot.
My favorite quote from MIL so far "I'm going to take M for a little walk on the beach. This baby needs to get some sun." 🙄🙄

Hi ladies! Yay tapa.
Not much going on here. A rarely takes a paci. She prefers her middle and ring fingers.
Just started giving the poor, teething baby breast milk popsicles. Success, so far.
