What are you planning to do after the baby is here?
We are going to do a nanny for three months until J can go back to daycare and then transition them there.

My school has an in-house daycare (glorified babysitter, really), so that's where she'll go.

DD is staying in day care the whole time I'm off. When I go back to work, we'll transition #2 into a day care of some kind. I'm thinking of the Montessori down the road mainly because it's nearby. DD has been in a home day care for almost two years and she has really enjoyed it, but I need more consistency once there are two kids in the mix. My DCP needs a lot of surprise sick days between herself and her two kids, which really starts to affect us professionally. There's a shortage of French teachers here, so I can never find someone to take over my class.

DS will be in daycare during my maternity leave. Once thatup, the twins will join him there. We love our daycare, and it is close to the house/on our way to work. Still trying to figure out how I get a 3 year old and two infants from the car to the building, but we'll have to figure it out! Currently debating using the stroller with the twins and whether or not that is weird. I just want to make sure I have a hand free for DS.

DD will stay in day care (licensed in home day care) while I am on maternity leave, other than the holiday weeks DCP (day care provider) is off. At that point she will also be in a half day preschool, which DCP will take her to and from.
We would like the baby to go to DCP once my maternity leave is up. The problem right now is that while DCP is not actually at capacity, her car is at capacity for car seats, and she has to use the car for her older boys to/from school and for the younger girls including DD to/from preschool.
For logistical reasons, DCP would like to cut down to just two families- one family with 2 girls and us with now 2 kids. The other family was the first and we came shortly after they did. There is one girl that is an only child. She just isn't sure how to tell the family that yet. This girl is about DD's age and could enter preschool, at least. And we gave until at least January to figure this out.
Another option, if both of them going to DCP is not an option, is putting DD in a full time preschool and sending the baby to DCP. Yet another option, if we really love the preschool program she starts in the fall, is going with a nanny that would stay at our house (and she could take DD to and from preschool). It isn't my favorite plan because I love DCP and also the socialization aspect of her day care. But it could be what works best if the best plan doesn't work out.

I SAH during the week and will continue to do so after the baby is born. DD will be in 3rd grade, so she will be occupied most of the day. We considered sending DS to a 2 day a week preschool program, but I think we will just wait for Pre-K next year. We can always reassess in January. The baby and DS will spend some time at our gym's daycare while I workout during the week, though.

DS will stay in daycare during my mat leave. Baby will go to the same daycare (infant room) when I return to work (around 10-12 weeks old). We are very happy with our daycare and DS loves it.

There are also classes where you can bring the stroller. I definitely plan to take advantage of that!

I am actually pretty sure I could bring the baby to yoga with me and no one would care, but I would also like that hour alone.

So does mine, but it's $$$$ Ours is about $10 less a day than most daycares in the area, so it's not too bad. The real savings will be during school vacations, especially the summer, when I would likely have to pay to hold a spot at another daycare even if the baby wasn't attending every day. That'll save us at least $3k a year.

We are privy to the school of grandma. My mom gets DD M-Th and MIL does Fridays. All we do is supply diapers and wipes.
That said, my dad needs another back surgery so my parents are going to take on some financial strain. My mom asked me if I could talk to MIL about picking up another day with E come fall (MIL is retired) so my mom could pick up another day at work (she works part time). MIL has made it clear before that she's retired to be retired, not to babysit. I already planned to start paying my mom a small amount once she takes on #2, so I told her I'd just start paying her in September instead of February now. She didn't know prior to tonight that H and I agreed to start paying her. She was a bit resistant, but the other option is start putting two kids in DC 3-4 days a week come spring, which will cost 3x what we'll end up paying my mom for losing one shift a week at work.

We've had a nanny this last year since I went back to work after my second. It's been amazing. She was awesome Brought my son to and from preschool. I wish she would stay for fall and I wouldn't have to try to decide if I find someone new for the 6 weeks or not. But she got a different job in the hospital. So I'm sad. Prior to two kids- my son was just in a "home day care" my son and her daughter who were three days apart were the only kids. That was awesome.
After this kid and mat leave is over- I have no idea what we will do. Ideally I would like to work half time and then have the two youngest in daycare but we will see. My school doesn't give out half time easily, so we will see. I'm also hoping to transfer schools to the school my son will be attending. Much easier for before/after school care then!

Since I work from home, it will be me, but MIL will come help a few days a week. DS1 will be in full day kindergarten. I'm already overwhelmed by the thought of the new schedule.

DS will continue to go to Daycare two days a week. DD will go one of those days. I'll be off with the baby for a year. By the time I go back to work DS will be in school and so it will just be the younger two in daycare. They will go whichever days I'm working or sleeping after a night shift.

The mom walked with a limp, so she put the child in the stroller to walk into daycare.

I am currently researching day cares. MIL always said she wanted to watch her grandchild but the woman couldn't carry the coffee pot 2 feet to the table cause it was too heavy. I can change my work schedule and work weekends so I can take off during the week but if we can find something reasonable enough I don't want to do that or only work one weekend day. I need to talk to my boss about options for working from home too.

We are looking into Daycare right now. DS already goes to a great private pre-school, but after the baby arrives we are not willing to pay 700$ a week plus quarterly supply fees for childcare (over 37,000 / yr)... we are touring one this week that we really love and is much more reasonably priced. Fingers crossed we fall in love with the new center. I am freaking out about moving C, he has gone to the same school since 12weeks.

Daycare for our kid. Not sure where yet, but I've already started looking around a bit and getting recommendations.

I'll be SAH for pretty much ages. I'll go back to work when DD starts having a good routine during the night, as DS sleeps right through with no problem, it'll just be DD that I'll have to get into night feed routine.
I won't be focusing on a night time feed routine until 3 or more months. I'll get it down to 2 or less feeds before I start easing myself back into night shifts.
I can't leave H with a baby that doesn't sleep a good 6 hour slot at night as he has to work a 12 hr shift the next day.
DS was 3hr/6hr/3hr at 2.5 months so I'm hoping she does that as well!

DS goes to a home daycare but I am looking at a few centers right now that are closer to home because where he goes now was close to H's work and his office moved. He probably wont move until at least his 3rd birthday in Sept though. If he is in a center in Nov, then he will probably continue going while I'm on maternity leave.

DD will be in K this fall, so it'll be DS and the twins needing daycare. I put this in the maternity leave thread, but I won't be bringing much (or anything!) home after paying for those three. I'd love to stay home at least part time for a few months, and then I'd only have DS in preschool part time.

Right now my parents watch DS on Mondays and Fridays, he goes to daycare on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and I have off on Wednesdays so I am home with him then. After this baby is born and I'm done with mat leave, my FIL is retiring and he offered to watch the boys on Tuesdays and Thursdays so we won't have to use daycare at all.
I am so so thankful that we live near our parents and they are so willing/happy to help us out.

But as he got older they were not so good with feeding him actual food (just food pouches or easy prep stuff...mostly the ILs) or doing actual activities with him (all of them). It got to the point where he was getting bored Day in and day. I sent him to daycare and he thrived. Hopefully your parents and ILs are much better.

They take him to programs at the rec and story time at the library- a lot of stuff that I don't even do. Obviously they may miss out on some formal education-style type care without going to daycare but we will just try to do more of that stuff at home until they get into preschool.

We run our business from home and have an employee who takes care of most of the day to day stuff. So both H and I are home with the kids.
What's really great is H works nights on the computer to keep up with our international buyers so he takes all the nighttime feedings.
