I'm trying to prepare for an interview this week. I'm having a hard time and I think a big part of it is feeling stupid for even considering changing jobs while pregnant. The opening rarely comes up and I can't believe I made it through to interviews. But still.
It's hot here so yesterday we went to the pool to try to get done relief. DD had a blast. Today we are just home

Today we went grocery shopping and hung out with the sprinkler. My sister and nieces are here for the week because my oldest niece is doing day camp nearby. It's two hours from their house so it made sense for them to stay here. My son will have fun playing with the younger niece, she's a year older, and that might mean I can sit back and relax! 😂 I love my kid but sometimes I wish he was more willing and able to play a little on his own.
We officially bought him a big boy bed yesterday. We've always kept him in his crib because he never discovered how to get out of it. But now we are going to be putting him directly in a full bed.

ldubhawksfan good luck with your interview prep and interview! I don't think you're stupid at all to go for an opportunity just because you're pregnant. Pregnancy and maternity leave are really a blip in time when compared to a whole career. Is this opportunity within your current organization or something different? sarahandben108 we're considering doing the same thing with my son but I'm really hesitant to give up the crib. We have such peaceful nights right now and I'm afraid he's going to be a wanderer as soon as he's free. Maybe I'll wait and here how it goes for you! Just a typical Monday here. I had a stressful work dream last night, so now I'm stressed about going in, even though I know it wasn't real. Work has been so busy lately I'm afraid my subconscious is trying to tell me I missed something. Ugh!

He didn't start to sleep 100% through the night until he was 2.5. I feel like he's finally at a point where is sleep has become consistent and now we are going to mess it up again with a big bed. But I suppose I'd rather do it now while I'm on summer break (I'm a teacher) and before this new kid arrives.

E has been giving me all kinds of night time problems. I also tried to stop taking Zoloft this weekend and that was a massive mistake. I'll try again maybe when I'm closer to the 3rd tri. My OB said I don't have to go off it b/c the risk is SO low, but I'd like to try. I have to head out of town on Thursday for a quick overnight trip.

I know this is probably the exception to the rule, but we switched DD into a twin bed when she was 2.5 and she started sleeping better. So much better. There's hope!

I just had a midwife appointment and was reassured because I heard the heartbeat, so I think we're going to tell DD tonight.
Now we're off to the aquarium!

jrun2013, sarahandben108, we're considering switching DD (20 months) into her toddler bed. She seems to dislike the crib and we have a Mickey Bed she's really excited about. I keep back and forth between her being ready and her not.

We are completely bypassing the toddler bed and going straight to a full. There will be no going back for us. 😂😝

jrun2013, I think that's our plan once we get everything organized to move her crib out and anchor down her furniture.

Actually excited to be back at work. We had a great weekend celebrating DD's 1st birthday. Saturday waterpark, Sunday her party, so this pregnant lady is exhausted! Now we actually have some weekends where there is nothing going on and I am pretty pumped about it. Now that DD is walking I may even try to take her to the aquarium

I can't believe I made it to interviews and I'm nervous as hell about the whole prospect

We still aren't sure what we are doing for DD (20 mo) for bed. She is still in her crib and usually STTN but is going through something right now. I can't imagine her able to get out of bed. I think I might get another crib that goes to toddler bed first, but there is still the question of when to transition

ldubhawksfan, I'm not sure how different my kid being able to get out her bed would be. She can't get out of her room. And she already gets up and screams "mommeeeeee" and "daddeeee" at the top of her lungs anyway. Maybe if she didn't feel trapped she do better? I don't know I'm grasping at straws here.

We had such a fun, relaxing weekend, and I'm bummed to be back in the office! It should be a good, busy, but not too busy, week at work. I have my glucose test on Wednesday which kinda sucks, but also means I get to sleep in and take the morning off of work so I'm happy about that. H and I finally put some décor on the walls this weekend (moved last September but have been renovating since) and it feels good. We also decided on a contractor for our bathrooms (one of H's friends) and he's coming to do more measurements today. I'm really looking forward to getting that started and having new bathrooms done before the girls get here! It will be really nice to have a new deep soaker tub in the 3rd tri

ldubhawksfan I totally get being nervous. I interviewed for a new job with a government agency when I was about 8 weeks pregnant with my son. I ended up bowing out of the extremely long hiring process for other reasons (realized it would have been a dead end for me professionally), but I decided initially not to let pregnancy be a determining factor in my job moves. I ended up switching jobs when DS was about 6 months old after going through interviews when he was 4 months. It was a little crazy starting over somewhere new with a new baby at home, but I've been much happier since the move. My new boss (who has a kid about the same age as mine) gave me a copy of Lean In on my first day, I think she was trying to tell me something, lol. Long winded way of saying- you've got this!

Hi y'all! Busy weekend over here and just catching up now. We had L's birthday party (2) and it was great - everyone seemed to have a great time together and the kiddos had a blast. I love seeing all the different parts of our lives come together for celebrations like that. L was in heaven. She seems so big the last few weeks - she's had massive leaps in language particularly and it's been so fun to watch.
Glad everyone seems to be doing well! As for us, we are planning on keeping L in the crib until she tried to escape. So far she hasn't made any attempts, though I'm certain she could if she wanted to. She can open our door knobs. 😳

I'm glad Tapatalk is back up, it's easier for me to keep up here.
My parents were in town this weekend - we visited family and went to a baseball game which my DD (22 mos) loved. She kept saying "look mama, baseball" and pointing to the field.
Back to work today was tough since last week was so short.

Re: crib transition DS1 escaped the crib at 16 months so we had a mesh tent that went over the top (which has since been recalled). At 20 months, the whole crib was recalled (drop side) so he went to a toddler bed a friend gave us for free. My little crib escapee never got out of the bed, he called for us when he woke up. We transitioned him to a full a few weeks before DD was due to arrive because I needed the crib mattress and of course I went into labor that night and left the house at 3am. He again did just fine. DD and DS2 also transitioned first to toddler beds then twin beds without issue. I was very surprised.

We had an amazing week at the beach last week but I came home with a terrible cold. I laid around the past few days but today DD had a check up, DS1 had a therapy appointment, then gymnastics and hockey later. I'm tired. We were out until after 11 last night, with the kids at a going away party for good friends who are moving out of state later this week.
