Morning. I went out to a Moroccan butcher/grocery store, got all sorts of nice goodies, but somehow forgot that I’m not allowed to eat everything 🤦🏼♀️. So I’m bummed no. Readers here, I need some inspiration. I like modern day novels, set in England/Ireland or the the us (especially love New England because I’m a familiar with the area) I love it if there’s something whimsical in them. Any of you girls know a good one one? Currently reading this;

nam2013 I love to read, let me think on it. Did you read Eleanor Olephant Is Completely Fine? I really liked that one, it was set in Scotland, iirc. My all-time favorite book is Coming Home by Rosamund Pilcher (set in England), but it's WWII-era. If you want to fall in love with characters, though, it's a good one. I re-read it once a year and it always makes me want to go to the English countryside. Maeve Binchy was a fairly prolific Irish novelist in the 90s and several of her books were set there. So a bit older, but she had some good ones.

I’ll go trough WWII phases (for lack of a better word) not at the moment though, but I’ll save it for the future .

Morning!
DH just went and got breakfast for us; this morning we're undertaking some packing/prep and promised the kids if they entertain themselves and let us get things done, we'll play outside and/or swim in the afternoon.

Live blog: we’ve gotten all the drapes taken down and DH just put the vertical blinds back up in the playroom (they have a Montgomery Ward sticker, so you know they’re ancient😳). I think I can hear the house crying.

My quarantine/moving husband rant: there are 75,000 things to do. We’ve done this a half-dozen times (him even more). I shouldn’t have to direct your every move. Also, if you use the bathroom one more time I’m calling your doctor.

Sitting on the beach watching the little boys dig up sand crabs and DD do some gymnastics. I’m so grateful the house I loved fell through last year because it was at a public beach. Our private beach is never crowded so hoping to have a nice, relaxing social distancing summer here. If gymnastics doesn’t reopen, I may just stay all summer.

By private beach, does that mean you need beach tags? My aunt's beach is like that.. granted we can't go and stay with them this year 😢

Hi from a field watching batting practice. I feel like I have 100 things I want to get done today. I started sorting baby clothes to get out summer stuff and realizing that K is a lot bigger than N was, so I'm going to have to squeeze her into some outfits before retiring them. My friend has a bday today, so I kind of want to drop something off as a surprise if I can get my act together.

tgrimes, Cadence slept through it too. The cats were freaking out! Some of that thunder sounded like explosions over our roof. But, I took a muscle relaxer and went to bed.

I'm at the office. My officemate is moving upstairs. WOoHoo!! It's because when I come back to work June 1st we wouldn't be 6 feet apart, so the office manager is "making" her move. Bye!

By private beach, does that mean you need beach tags? My aunt's beach is like that.. granted we can't go and stay with them this year 😢 Until a few years ago, it was private in that you had to be an owner, renter, or guest of an owner in the company of the owner to get on the beach and the beach was fenced on both sides Now there is a law that makes that illegal on N.J. beaches but there is no street parking or parking lots in my entire community, no bathrooms, no food etc so while they can’t legally stop people from buying a badge for the day, it’s not an easy place to be a day tripper. Also, the roads are still private and we are supposed to wear our beach tags even to walk the streets. We have our own lifeguards, badge checkers, and security but we pay taxes to one of the big mainland towns and they do stuff like our garbage pick up and EMT calls. I thought I wouldn’t like all the rules but in this situation, it’s nice because even on the most crowded day I can remember last summer, we could still stay 6 feet apart.

I got my nails done this morning and feel like a new person. I went to the grocery and again spent a fortune. I told A he's grocery shopping from now on. I brought back lunch and now I'm relaxing on the golf cart while MJ naps on me. Its a humid/rainy day but its breezy right now and feels great.
M wants to go to Japan when the virus is over. Sure kid, I'll get right on that.
