It was unsuccessful. Since he hasn't been sick, the ENT doesn't think the tube is causing him any harm. They scheduled a follow up appt for July. I'm supposed to keep an eye on him and see if it bothers him at all. Obviously if it's an issue, he'd schedule the surgery. Is there any chance at all it will wiggle out on its own?

Morning. I’m sorry. tgrimes I hope it doesn’t get worse. Did he say if that will affect his hearing at all? chrisy01 FX it’s good news. mwhip All this weekend I was thinking maybe we can make a short trip to GS at some point, but if a lot of people are looking there, maybe not. I didn’t hear FL isn’t taking rentals. I heard hotels are open for business. I was actually thinking about looking at rates for the place we went to in Sandestin, but I refrained. MH didn't ask. I don't think it would though.

All the pictures I have seen from the beach show people are social distancing well, but that they're recommending getting to the beach before 10 if you want to be close to the water. It's also FB...so how much of it is true, I don't know.

It appears the horseback riding place I wanted the kids to go to this summer is open for lessons but not camps (which is fine because the camps were expensive). I think it'd be a very safe activity as far as 'Rona goes (only up to 4 kids at a time, and of course 2 of them would be mine, outdoors, minimal physical contact). I tried to call and got no answer, but from the website things look good. I already told the kids I'd only consider it if they start cleaning up after themselves like they know they're supposed to and have better behavior. Now MH wants to backpedal because of the $$. We can afford it. I wanted to scream because I'm not going to cut down on the only thing we might have for the kids because he wants to be cheap. He can get a job to cover it if he's that worried as far as I'm concerned.

flamingo when is Florida reopening rentals? I'm on a FB page for Gulf Shores and so many people keep commenting that since they can't vacation in Florida, they want to come to Gulf Shores, which is great for their economy, but makes me worry about how busy things will be when we go. Evie is currently going through everything we brought home from school. It's like Christmas, she is so excited to show me everything. She isn't even remotely sad about it. So Parts of S FL (3 or 4 counties like Palm Beach, Miami-Dade...where #s are highest, population is very dense/lots of seniors) are still locked down, but the rest of the state is in phase 1, approaching phase 2. Vacation rentals fall in phase 2, but only for FL residents, and there has to be 72 hours between guests for proper cleaning. So I’m assuming phase 3 or 4 is when they will reopen them for out-of-staters. Hotels are open, though (i think there may be restrictions on international travelers.)

inthekitty yeah I will be throwing money at whatever is open this summer. The kids need something, and frankly, so do I. I got C into one at her new school and B’s going to do golf camp, and a couple sessions of daycamp. We didn’t have preschool tuition for Apr/May, and have saved $ the last couple months thru curtailing our normal activities, not eating out, etc. so if I spend more than I normally would on camp, oh well. 🤷🏻♀️

So I had the same thought. I was planning on signing them up for lessons twice a week rather than once if the schedule allows because of it.

I got the gym to answer, but they haven’t made a decision about summer camps yet. They are opening in phases and taking it week by week. So I just have to keep checking back.

cagoldi I meant to comment earlier on the school email and forgot. The fact that that is a real possibility makes me a little sad, but also I’m glad they are being honest about it now so working parents can have the next few months to figure out work/childcare if there will be an alternate school schedule. I wish our county would send communication about what plans they are making. I assume they are planning to be in the classroom, and great, but would like to know what the options are for a backup plan if the “wave” of new cases happen.

Great news nam2013! I remember it took a minute to find C’s too. And now she’s the kid that will hide in a closet and not answer when we call her, so...not much has changed 😂

The Thunderbirds did a fly over today. Cadence got a kick out of it. It seemed like it was right over our house.

Do all your kids wear helmets on bikes, scooters, skates, ect? I'm surprised by how many kids in our neighborhood don't wear helmets at all.

I saw one of Cadence's school friends riding the other day. She had a helmet on, but her dad was like way far ahead of her on a side road that is super dangerous. I started wondering if he even knew she was riding with him.

They know to do it automatically and it's not even a question. If they're just putzing around the driveway on a scooter I'm not as strict.

The new carpet was put down this morning and looks so much better. (I love that new smell, too). So now I have to be carpet police for the next week or so to keep the kids off it B's teacher came by with his scrapbook and to pick up readers that they sent home back in March. B ran up to hug her before I could stop him but I think she was OK with it, lol. I think she really liked B and told us his first grade teacher is very lucky <3

Yes to helmets here too. B has a little Spider-Man scooter that is also a ride on toy that does not go fast at all. He doesn’t wear it on that but anytime they are on a bike or real scooter they wear them. It’s just habit at this point and neither kid questions it

Yes, helmets here. Kids don’t even question it. Not sure if I’ve said it here, but H is totally training-wheel free. It started as sort of a joke teaching him in the yard and now he just takes off and goes... and he’s fast! So yes, definitely a helmet and he should probably be bubble wrapped too because he has no fear.
